It was a really a blessing that Nick Rekieta chose to involve himself and Vic actually filed a lawsuit.

Just to be clear: Vic has not actually filed a lawsuit yet. He has retained a legal firm, and although he has not publicly disclosed who they are, he has allegedly disclosed it privately to Nick Rekieta.

In the meantime, it will be up to his legal team's skill and experience in Texas law to determine what legal claims Vic could make against any of the many possible lawsuit targets, and then, up to Vic himself to decide whether he should sue them. Nick Rekieta has been outspoken of his personal opinion that Vic should go "scorched earth" and sue everyone within the scope of the law, but it will ultimately be up to Vic to decide what sort of course of action will fit with the brand image that he's trying to salvage. Going "scorched earth" on his fellow voice actors might not be the image that Vic wants. He's going to have to make a very hard decision.

If and when Vic actually does file a lawsuit, the lawsuit itself will be public, which means that we will know:

• who Vic's lawyers are (counsel)
• who Vic is suing (defendants)
• and why (claims)

When this actually does come down, I would expect Nick Rekieta to be very interested in the information it contains, and he'll probably cover it in detail on his stream.

Well there was a video initially, but it was discovered later the person involved edited together the entire thing to make Vic look bad and then deleted their entire social media when someone uploaded the unedited footage. That's what I meant by shady.

I knew Shannon was sperging about this, but he's pretty unimportant. Miles however would probably have hiring/firing privelages and random comments of his could he interpreted as directly relating to RT, given his position there. It may be enough to pull them in as defendants rather than concerned parties.

I think I definitely misjudged both Nick and especially Vic since the gofundme project. It almost seems the latter while probably not playing the proverbial 4D chess is still playing chess having thought a few moves ahead of his opponents. Nick on the other hand seems to be willing to serve as the intermediary/front man warning Vic's opponents that they should get ready to go to court. It's pretty poetic.

Oh, absolutely. However, realize that even by threatening to sue others in his own industry, he is inviting the criticism that he's a loose cannon and that he's toxic to the industry. "You'll never work in this town again!" might sound like a threat, but it's a very real possibility that Vic faces... especially if he sues. And, possibly, even if he wins.

Vic has a large community of fans whom he has come to know and love. He's clearly a very sensitive and caring man. He doesn't want to cut all ties to the industry, and he probably doesn't hold ill will for most of his former co-workers, in spite of their betrayals. Just winning his lawsuit would not necessarily be enough. For him to have any shot at salvaging his career and staging a comeback, he would not only need to be vindicated (by forcing his accusers to retract their accusations and apologize) but he'd also need the community's support in painting his accusers as the true bad actors in this whole situation. His accusers were counting on the community rallying behind them, but luckily, so far, Vic himself has had the overwhelming majority of support. Vic has to capitalize on that, so he doesn't come out of this looking like the bad guy, "even though he was right".

Shane's offer will sound awfully tempting to Vic, I imagine: "Look, I have the ability to invite you back. Just apologize and eventually we'll all forgive you." The problem is that it's an extremely loaded offer. Apologize for things that Vic potentially did not do? Beg forgiveness? Maybe come back? Let's be real: why does Shane want Vic back? Money. Vic makes the industry money. Right now, there might seem to be a vocal minority (or majority, who knows) that are supporting Vic, and the industry is panicking, realizing that it might lose fans over this. Apologizing certainly won't appease his accusers, though, and six months from now, their voices might be louder. The industry isn't going to have Vic's back; it certainly didn't have it the first time.

Sony will happily settle and will promise more work as part of the settlement. This is standard Hollywood practice. They often buy off lawsuits from Actors and Directors with the guarantee of more future work. Hollywood studios tend not to hold a grudge unless You accuse them of being the Pedo Pervs.

That was my impression too before, but I'm starting to think Vic could be a bit more coy than I thought. He definitely seems to be playing things close to his chest right now.
