I think you're being far too optimistic to think they'll cover it. Conservatives aren't known for knowing much about nor wanting to do anything with Japanese anime outside a few very popular titles. I make it a point to not watch anything on this outside of Rekieta, and maybe one or two others on occasion.

Why? Because if there's one thing I've learned, it's that gaters are cringe.

There's a number of reasons why I have a better feeling about weebwars over gg or cg, but one of the major ones is that it started off with actual lawyers (the other major reason being the stuff originates in Japan).

People like YFG, if given enough rope, will try and hang us all for their own self-aggrandizement. If he's acting like a faggot, I hope Nick tells him to shut the fuck up.

It's a decent pitch, but I don't think that would be doable still. I just don't see either the audience or the person delivering the pitch knowing enough of the situation or caring enough to be that invested in it. And even if it say was covered, it would be buried underneath other news items.

It makes you wonder? Figure the first phone conversation of Vic’s Lawyers would be with Funimations lawyers. Ty Beard etc have been working at least 2 weeks now. And have been public for most of a week. We haven’t seen papers flying yet, so they are possibly talking to somebody. And that somebody is not the contract VA’s and twitter warriors. Funimation doesn’t appear to be talking to them either, at least not directly. Although they seem to be getting lots of advice from friends in the industry to lawyer up now. Which they ignore.

The tldr is that YF needs to lay off the sauce. TUG's streams are pretty chill usually, but he fucked that up pretty hard

They're probably reveling in their own spergery because there's been some pretty serious shots fired thanks to Ty Beard's confirmed involvement. Somebody else is doing the work, and they're gonna do gay victory laps (prematurely).

I don't think they can actually hurt Vic's legal case, but it must be said that Vic needs to maintain a groundswell of support. Gaters don't make a good impression, even when they are right.

I'm glad at least TUG seems to comprehend that.

Funimation has been around for over 20 years, how has no one at the top sent out a mass email saying "Shut the fuck up"? I don’t think Pridemore is a particularly juicy target to anybody. She’s not a credible witness. Complete with multiple unrelated claims against multiple unrelated people. Always a bit of a red flag in a witness. By the second or third cry of “he molestored meeee!” The viewer tends to subconsciously categorize the witness as a nutcase. Everyone will do their best to ignore her as much as possible.

There is no sneaky Colombo’ing. While there may be different approaches, by and large all lawyers involved know what is coming . Law Matters tend to stay on script. As soon as that GFM was converted to an IOLTA the lawyers knew what was coming. Which is why I suspect Funimation likely called Ty Beard and associates to see what if any accommodations could be worked out pre litigation.

It would have to be a wild move for any of them to hurt the case when people are screaming at these VA's to lawyer up to deaf ears. TUG better hope that stream wasn't clipped because YF had a lot to say about Jamie and they can run that into the ground for victim points. Wasn't expecting another stream though. Let's see if YF keeps it together enough for TUG to keep this one
