Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

So we might have a full sperg off soon because creepy can litterally be just looking to these people for them to write fanfics about it.

I can't wait to see more "bushy eye divorced girl," stories because this shit going to a funny trash fire

Originally it looks like this was meant to be a general harassment piece that was being worked on earlier in January. After the Hazukari fiasco. But after recieving the fujoshis numerous reports about anti-yaoi homophobia, the hugging and kisses, prayer service, and the other rumors over the years, their focus shifted to Vic. Plus they probably thought it would give them a lot of clicks.

More info.

On the 18th on January Kotaku published their article on the Broken Staircase, a spreadsheet of names and the allegations tied to them in the anime industry/fandom

It appears that earlier that month Hazukari was ejected from the community following these allegations.

That's real fucking rich coming from a site that deleted responses on male sexual harassment/rape/false allegation victims in their Shield Hero non-review.

I've heard those rumors too. If they redubbed all of Broly's lines you better bet there would be some serious backlash. I don't think they would go that far, but who knows.
If they were planning to redub Broly, yesterday probably made them reconsider.

The Vic stuff had finally been slowing down on social media, but then that tweet from Nick had people freaking out all over again. They've burned too much good will with the fans, any hiccup gets the mob after them now. People are cancelling subscriptions over a credit on iTunes. Imagine the pushback if they removed Vic's voice from the actual movie.

Man, you should never watch sausage being made: these people are viscerally disgusting (I guess that is redundant, but man, this is just all repulsive on the same sort of level as it is when you flip a rock over and watch all the soft, white things underneath squirming away from the sunlight ) .

And I guess, in light of the new revelations about Vic's name being taken off the credits of stuff he has worked in (very possibly in breach of his contract with them), that they literally just can't help themselves from fucking with him-- even knowing- knowing! - that litigation is imminent. The arrogance and entitledness is breathtaking. So is the lack of self-preservation, and that is what is weirdest to me. That someone did this knowing that a lawsuit probably detailing a conspiracy is impending, and they still went ahead with it.

The only #istandwithvic people on my list are Nick and Vic.

Nick is probably on the same level as EvS at this point, to be quite honest. They've already designated him the leader of #istandwithvic/vickicksback.

Oh, there's that spreadsheet. I knew it existed, but didn't know where to find the damn thing (Kotaku didn't link to it).

This is utterly idiotic, and I notice Vic's name is still on this shit even though people are getting sued for defamation over the allegations included on it being horseshit.

If they really want to do shit in the public interest, have crap confirmed by law and/or verifiable in the public media via multiple sources, this garbage is just begging for trouble otherwise.

Haberkorn is on there too. What's interesting is that he's in RED. Which seems to suggest they have multiple sources. I'm not familiar of anybody else lodging a complaint against him, other than Pridemore. Unless they're counting everybody who gave her ass pats and said "so brave" as a confirmation.

Or, you know... go to the police and seek a conviction, if they're that bad. There's a spreadsheet of sorts run by the goddamned government called a sex offender registry.

But what the fuck do I know.

Alot of the girls hanleia regularly tweets with are other fujos that have been in the comm for a long time and have a long standing hatred of Vic, some of them were previously in his fanclub. So I wonder if this was a long term thing to try and slander his name back from the livejournal days and then continued to tumblr? Just speculation.

See, it’s very interesting that these people mention that Vic was banned from several cons and studios, but never state what those studios/cons are. Those could be, you know, investigated. Also, if he was constantly being banned, how was he getting richer and more popular and maintain a boatload of conventions until this shitstorm happened?

Can we all just agree that the anti-vics don't want to go to court, and the pro-vics want to go to court?

Just think of all the times crack and heroin dealers invite cops and lawyers into their homes and businesses to have a look around. Vic is clearly guilty, here.

EDIT: Oh yeah. I forgot my pound of flesh.

Who cares? Well, he starts in the #KickVic camp. And then later claims to be a convert from the #Stand camp.

Oh yeah. And he's a funny funny guy.

EDIT 2: And fuck you, I'm not archiving this shit. Go fuck yourself.

"nearly everyone I know who's worked WITH Mignogna has a Vic Story"
Well no shit if he was the industry's water cooler punching bag.

People hated him for reasons that had nothing to do with sexual crap. We saw it in that video of Schemmel and Strait mocking him, and were directly told by Kaplan and Samantha that they hated him at first sight. People talking dirty about him behind his back gained ground as more people joined in, as the rumor mill tends to do. "Vic Stories" got twisted into something worse than the reality, like Kaplan's piggyback rape which was a nothingburger, or that director who said Vic claimed silence is consent (when Vic was actually just quoting Plato during a conversation about work not sex). That rumor mill festered and grew for 20 damn years with more industry folk hearing the Stories and then joining in.

We just saw this happen on Twitter. People that hate Vic calling him a creep, and as it spread people who met him and thought he was cool now think their encounter with him was creepy. They go on to tell their now "creepy Vic Story" of how he hugged them, and on and on it goes.

They know this is what happened and that it went too far, but now it's too late to admit it. They just wanted to get that annoying Vic finally kicked out of their clubhouse, they've said as much that they just wanted him out of the studios and conventions, but it blew up beyond their control. They won't press charges because they know he isn't a danger to the public, they know he hasn't done anything criminal. They know their Vic Stories were just dumb work gossip about the guy everyone liked to dog on.

I hope he sues them into poverty.

Edited to add this video of J Michael Tatum at a panel in 2014 where he says Vic is the industry lightning rod where people are like "Fuck that guy". Starts at 13:45.

I could see "write a series like it was made in the 2010s" becoming a thing in the future. Where you dub over some sort of established series and try to put in as many social justice buzzwords as possible.

That won't happen, the SJW culture will likely take over the world and last forever. The SJW side believes in doing anything to win and their only "opposition" believes that if you fight back, you're worse than them.

Sounds like a viable abridged series. Just take out all the action scenes and replace them with "and then they decided not to fight because it was too masculine oppressive inappropriate, and then this happened:" You could cut a 30-episode season into 6 30 (24 after the sponsored ads) minute episodes stat.

EDIT: And you know who'll be 1. out of work, 2. lowering their rates, and 3. appreciates the alleged humor.

EDIT 2: Anyone know any good all-female fighting animoos?
