Brad Wardell (Stardock's CEO) not only fought his MeToo hoaxer, he forced her to post a public apology for lying about him. Via a Judge.
Kotaku et all, to this day, start screeching like bonobo monkeys with flaming diarrhea whenever his name is brought up. His twitter feed is still, to this day, filled with dangerhairs and soycucks trying to take potshots at him. All over MeToo allegations that were proven in court to be 100% made up bullshit.
Brad's treatment is a preview of how Vic's life will be going forward, even assuming he gets a 100% win and MarzGurl et all have to all make public statements admitting they lied, conspired to harm his career, and knowingly defamed him.

But. All told, Brad Wardell is doing just fine, even with the Games Journo-Activist Industry against him. I suspect Vic will do just fine. Dangerhairs have been doing the same shit for 10 years now, due to his "no I won't sign your gay fap material" stance. He just happened to have gotten some coworkers who seemed to have decided they could just destroy someone for funsies and profit this go around.

Yeah today's "standards" of sexual harassment would of had me and so many others in so much trouble at a place I worked at many years ago. It wasn't even one way, the place had women outnumbering men that worked there and their stuff was way more egregious compared to what us men could ever get away with. I just flirted sometimes, but well from others I would get unsolicited hugs, women just sitting on my lap out of nowhere, being called "sweety, babe, cutie, handsome, etc." It was this giant powder keg of horny twenty something year olds ready to explode, pun intended.
While at that place, many stepped over the line considering today's standards. There's a line that some people want to go beyond to where looking at a woman for more than a second is considered harassment and its disturbing that some of the media actually want to help push that its a bad thing to get those kind of thoughts into the normal populace's head.

The only example of that I can think of offhand is when the Sunday Times (UK) printed a story accusing Lance Armstrong of doping, and Armstrong won a settlement.
Many years later, it came out that Armstrong was doping. Sunday Times sued him to get the settlement back, and I believe they did.
However, like you say, the UK is a plaintiff friendly jurisdiction for defamation cases.
I guess it could hypothetically come out at some point that Vic has done some naughty shit, but I don't think any of these idiots are in a position to back up their bullshit right now. That would suggest foresight and intelligence. Something they all lack.
BTW, Rekieta shot that down again, in the recent stream (just finished it), for the 90 millionth time. He says either Toye is ignorant as fuck, or he's resorting to kayfabe.
That's worked so well for Felarca so far. Accusing the judge of being alt-right because he ruled against her.

To be fair, Chicago has a long and storied history of police and political corruption. I have conservative pro-police friends who hate the CPD.
He is likely guilty because the evidence so-far strongly suggests he is. Not because anybody says so.
And EVEN THEN, the guy is STILL entitled to his day in court. I think Smolett should get what KickVic wants to deny Vic.

Smollett is likely not going to get any jail time, according to various sites with info on his potential plea deals.
I'm sure the people who bitched about Manafort only getting 4 years will be up in arms about this miscarriage of justice for a wealthy individual with privilege.

Another difference that folks haven't mentioned is that when the accused tries to stave off court (and usually loses) it's criminal proceedings. It seems part of the secret formula to having even a remote chance is to make it a civil issue, this is born out by all the examples that were later presented.
...unless that's the original point and I read it as more of a real question than a rhetorical.

I was wondering why hanleia wasn't addressing anything on her Twitter. That's because she's been gossiping somewhere else. I don't think the lawsuit will target her honestly, because she's just part of the group of yaoi fangirls that go back as far as 2006 that wanted his head for not being enthusiastic enough about their fantasy buttsex. They'll go after the people with actual platforms that signal boosted things, and added the air of legitimacy to rumor.

My only gripe with donating to the GFM is that I wouldn't be able to justify spending money/vacation time to fly down and see the case in person when it happens. I only pray that this ends up being half as exceptional as Greer if it gets before a judge.
