Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

I think they're trying to get the reader to be going "Woah, I can't believe they got their likeness down" but instead of drawing caricatures, they just took the hack method of just tracing the faces. You'd almost think Greg Land was "drawing" these but then you remember they aren't tracing porn like he does.
If I was gonna do a tracing thing, I'd use interviews or behind the scenes footage. That way you'd have more to choose from, and it wouldn't be too obvious it was a trace-job, because the cast would (presumably) look slightly different etc.

My nan sells celebrity portraits (she's not wellknown, it's a roadside type thing). So the images she references are unique rather than using a recognizable publicity shop, she makes a "Frankenstein" image, where she'd use Photoshop to take the eyes and mouth from different scenes but the same angle, and put them over a head from another scene but the same angle. (Hope that makes sense?) Once it's painted, you'd never know. I understand that doing this for a whole comic would be time consuming, but it's a hell of a lot more artistic than just tracing - and it's regularly done by a woman in her 60s!

Some guy in my English class told me that his biggest wish is to have Disney sell Lucasfilm back to George Lucas and thinks they’ll use the Fox deal as leverage to pressure him someday. He thinks that will improve the brand.

And I thought I was the only one to think of this.

Talked this over with a buddy. He put a video of it on YouTube but his idea is that Snoke was actually some half-baked (literally) clone that Kylo Ren had animated and turned into a puppet of his. He liked the idea of the sheer pun and meta joke of the situation. He thinks Snoke should be a split personality of Kylo, I prefer that Kylo be aware & in control the whole time, using Snoke as a distraction.

We also talked about this post-apocalyptic star wars story where Snoke is a pirate that stole Kylo as a child and raised him to be a bandit but we were drinking at the time.

I really hope they attempt to do Lando justice. A character that definitely gets shafted more than he deserves. I really appreciated his appearance in Jedi Outcast in spite of the fact that the level design in that game was bullshit.

Of course in the new canon he's a pansexual that likes to fuck droids so...

That sounds a lot like Star-Lord's background. But hey if Chris Pratt wandered into a shot with the Meco disco version of the Star Wars theme playing on his walkman it would be way better than most of TLJ even if it is a tone breaking non-sequitir.

Jar Jar Abrams will make sure Lando is portrayed "faithfully". He'll be on the good guy's side when Poe is captured and some random crime boss alien (who had no brain like all other aliens) has him in chains wearing a speedo. Although he'll be divided by his love for R2D2 and C3P0 and the Millennium Falcon's computer, he'll save everyone from the crime lord.

Despite all its faults, Disney did one thing right... its led to a shit ton of high quality fan content from fans that have been disillusioned by them.
Take notes mousefucks. Malakili's EU writer would be proud.

On a similar note, footage (not sure how much) and images from IX were privately screened at a Disney shareholder presentation, likely to show investors and shareholders that everything is fine despite that we still don't even know the title of this thing. Apparently it wasn't too positively received.
Some notes: Rey is using Chewbacca's bowcaster now for some reason, Kylo isn't wearing his mask which means he will likely put it on in the second half of the movie or the leaked pics of him wearing it were just a prototype, the Knights of Ren may not be in this despite Disney claims to the contrary and Darth Vader's helmet is really important now (could be the all-important macguffin the leaks and rumors are talking about).

Also, Disney-Lucasfilm announced that 9 would be the last film for the Skywalkers, which is disappointing a lot of people who are just getting wind of this now despite this being suspected for a while on some nerd sites due to how much they keep calling these films the Skywalker Saga. Kylo Ren fags are also disappointed apparently and that's gonna hurt Lucasfilm in the long run since that's their only popular character among the cast of newshits.

Finally, Mark Hamill finally made some sane and non-depressing tweets on twitter where he subtly dissed the Disney films and his desires for the happier timeline of olde. The reactions from Disneytards was as exceptional as you would expect, apparently accusing Hamill of feeding the egos and rage of "incel bigots".

Disrespecting the original star... never change Disneyfags. I also like how they keep trying to brush the hate for TLJ and Disney under the rug and pretend its only a small subset with a differing opinion despite the near universal derision and division they caused. The amount of damage control is extraordinary.

Fuck it, give her the Falcon, oh wait, uh, Luke's lightaber, I mean, Anakin's, it doesn't matter, she'll have both, um... dammit. She's stolen everything cool from all the OT characters. Give her Boba Fett's armor too, let's make her an Ultra Sue.

Considering that both guys that wore the Fett Armour died ignominious deaths, that might be a chink in her armour.

I half-way expect Rey and Chewbacca to be ambushed with Chewbacca making whimpy whiny noises and lying down in the fetal position, forcing Rey to pick up his blaster and shoot the shit out of the attackers. Why is someone, who's more profficient at Lightsabre combat than even Jedi Masters and Sith apprentices, relying on a blaster anyway?

the Knights of Ren may not be in this despite Disney claims to the contrary
You know, the most uncreative, simple and generic thing to do with the Knights of Ren would have been to use them as something akin to a mini Bossfight. You'd have various characters with vastly different fighting styles that the protagonists have to deal with, one by one, to work their way up to Kylo at the end.
It's what pretty much every Shonen Manga about fighting ever does, be it Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, My Hero Academia or whatever... it's the most straightforward thing to do in such a situation... and it would have been infinitely more interesting than what we got.
How anyone can defend Ruin Johnson (that isn't Disney who are pretty much forced to back him up publically) is beyond me. He ignored pretty much everything that could have been potentially interesting (like the Knights of Ren) or, if he addressed it, then only to invalidate it in a sick mockery of a story-twist, where he exchanged dramatic reveals with this:
, leaving the watchers (and worse even: the next movie) with absolutely nothing to work with.

I've been replaying KOTOR a bit lately. I know Disney wants to make more movies with as much of the original cast as possible before time takes its toll but the old old OLD Republic seems a rife place for balancing the Jedi stuff of the prequels with the focused action and emotional storytelling of the OT. The good thing with KOTOR is you have things that are kind of like other things, but not constrained to be exactly like them.

You have the Ebon Hawk, which is kinda like the Millenium Falcon, for example. You visit familiar locations but millenia apart. I guess what I'm saying is the best thing to do might be to step away from the Skywalker story and directly connected events and try something divorced from it temporally...

But that's like poetry, it rhymes.

I find this idea somewhat indigestible.

I agree, they should do a soft-reboot by going to an entirely different time period. Not only would it be distanced from the highly divisive ST, but it could also be a chance to explore different & new conflicts to build upon like the Prequels did, breathing new life into a series that's gotten stale with constant Stormtroopers and Tie Fighters.

Of course, this is Disney and Lucasfilms we're talking about here, so who knows if they'd have the creative chops for it.
