Okay, having slept on it, and having viewed the video a few more times without having to stop it and walk away between breaks, I can honestly say that my opinion hasn't really changed. I have also read the so-called "Manifesto" that this fool wrote, and can say that it's no different from many of the other "manifesto's" written by similar attention seeking murderers.
A post I read summed up the act quite nicely - an internet killing for the internet age - he streamed it live, he mentioned a popular gaming Youtuber at the beginning of the video, and he was obviously frequent on the internet in social forums and Twitter/Facebook.

What makes this any different from other attacks of this nature? I guess the fact that it was streamed live and so many people have jumped on it (just as the murderer wanted). I am not saying that this kind of thing has not been done before either, it has - so what has he achieved really apart from the murder of innocent people, and to land himself a good number of years inside bars.

Sadly, the families of those innocent people have a life sentence - this fucker will eventually be let out of prison, regardless of what he has done..

I just managed to watch the WHOLE video as deaf person, no sounds for me (obviously) but one thing that struck me the most is how he basically was stone-cold calm throughout the whole thing, even picking off people by one by one who was moving. I don't even know what to say man; just whole thing is kinda fucked convoluted mess because when there was mass shooting, there was always only one angle of footage or people running then drop dead in front of security camera- those type of things.

But THIS is from first person point of the view throughout the whole thing and it hits you hard on what it actually takes to go through with it.

I guess what struck me about it and what differentiated it from a lot of other attacks like this include:

• he was at least partially successful in his stated goals from the manifesto
• he had a degree of knowledge and skill with firearms
• the meme nature of a lot of the things he did and said
• the video-game like quality of the footage from when he enters the mosque to when he exits it the first time
• his lack of apparent mental and physical issues other than the being an extremest willing to kill civilians kind

I know he’s not right in the head, but wouldn’t joining the US Army and getting deployed to Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, etc (places where ISIS actually operates) be a better choice? Then again with people like him it’s impossible to apply logic to their thinking.

You fundamentally misunderstand the position of most nationalists ranging from simple isolationists to full on nazis. They don't care about people doing whatever they want in the middle east. They care about what is happening at home. ISIS could kill all of Syria and it wouldn't matter as much to this guy as one raped Kiwi girl.

Really, it's just what we make it. He shot up a building full of people, and then decided to implicate his entire community in those murders; I'd say he is a loser, and judging by his manifesto, he might have accomplices that share his views, but this man is clearly lonely as fuck, and has loaded all those frustrations into a white identity, that when threatened, he decided to "protect" - qoutation marks not because the people he shot were the explicit invaders , but because he wanted to be the protector in OUR eyes, we being his community.
Secondly, yeah his views are coherent, but why haven't none of us shot up a mosque? Because we're not clinically dense, and because it's a place of worship filled with random people. Why does he do it? Because he supports the same cause as us, but not because of reasoning and logic so to speak, but because of emotions.
I don't think his behavior is that of some warrior/savior/protector-type mentality, there's definitely personal motivation behind, because he wanted to be percieved a certain way in his community. Honestly, what the fuck does this help? Did he not have the balls to try and find someone more radical, maybe like a gang of middle easterners? No, he goes for the real easy kills, does it on a random Friday so that it's filled with ordinary people, and children and women, instead of doing it literally any other time, where it might be mostly men, and spews so many memes, you could write a book; that's definitely pick-me-ass behavior.

I get your point, although I'd disagree and say I was trying to raise an actual argument, based on my own analysations I suppose.

My point is, we ALL know, or well I do and I assume he did as well, that Friday is prayer day for muslims; now, it's also pretty obvious, that just like Sunday church or whatever in the US, that more people attend mosques on Fridays than other days; I'm confused as to why he chose the day with the most arguably innocent citizens? He could've waited for a day where they held a conference with local imams and such, it would've been filled up with men and important local islamist figures. He also doesn't at any point in time check the doors in the mosque, and he's clearly upset after one guy tries to knock him down, and he only approaches the shot-out crowd after he sprayed it a decent amount of times, and had run out of the building a few times.
Furthermore, putting the navy seals copy pasta in his manifesto, literally just spewing memes and what is arguably bullshit from a man with identity-crisis, page upon page, and goes out of his way to implicate us all in it.
To me, it does seem like he wanted to be a hero, but was a real coward.

We're one of the only places with the video that's easy to access. Reddit nuked it, and 8chan isn't on google search results. A lot of the accounts are /pol/tards, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's some journalists in there. They're very obvious. American and UK journos have no excuse for not directly going to the site, I'm pretty sure it's accessible in both.

It's because since the video footage was getting taken down everywhere, Kiwifarms was the only place still that had a torrent link and @Null refused to take it down since he actually had a spine.
