I find it odd that Ron goes for the Millionaire's Advocate Forum member as his lawyer. Odd in the sense that this case is a defense against TI, and yet he goes for the most expensive lawyer he could grab. What could Ron possible counter-sue for?

Not really. You go for the person who's good on the attack and defence. No counter-suit is likely to come with the hideous mess they've made of their TI case at the moment. They've done the same thing as Mark Waid did, they went and found the shiniest, bestest law firm they could and money's no object when truth, justice and the american way is on the line*.

*Pillock Industries acknowledges that experiences, definitions and acts of 'truth' 'justice' and 'the american way' may vary depending on how anchored to reality you are.

Jesus Christ. I know the folks here call Schmmeual/Schmallual/what's his name bipolar, but this is some next-level bullshit. What is he, five? Little too old to get pissy over other people playing with his toys.

Observation: This actually has more likes, and almost as many retweets, as Nick's pinned post linking to the GFM.

Not bad for something that was posted at zero dark thirty.

The absolute state of Shane.

The fucking hypocrisy for Shane to ask the accuser for "proof" but is perfectly fine for the sexual assault allegations to have no proof behind them.

Whether someone says they have proof of something or not is completely irrelevant to the fact that you're asking for some sort of proof.

Shane is stupid.
His lack of self awareness and absolute confidence in himself are starting to piss me off, how has this grown as man not had some one grab him by the arms and scream into his face about how much of a dumbfuck he is?

Some of the comments there, oof.

"This reeks of Schemmel so much it isn't funny, who else would do this? Chris wouldn't as shown by the fact that he brought Brian back."

"Chris wouldn't"

What combo rating would this case get though? I fear it would only go to B. For Beard.

Wait, maybe A for ALOD?

Because of we go to S we get Shane, and SS is Shane + Soye. SSS would be those two plus Sabat.

Also I remembered, Nick said he'd be more than happy to have Reuben on the show, so who knows?

Nick, if you read these threads, do NOT engage with people like Sargon and the Quartering. They mess up anything they touch and the #IStandWithVic side has been pretty decent so far.
For what it's worth, Nick has already been covering the Hambly v Loter case (in which Hambly (The Quartering) is suing the troon that jumped him at a bar near a con), though I don't know if he's been in contact with Hambly directly. (As much as I'm not a big fan of Hambly, I do hope he takes that guy to the cleaners.)

Nick has hosted other people out of favor with this corner of the internet before, like CRP and Maddox, so if he finds value in having Hambly or Sargon on his stream, I don't think we're going to stop him. I can respect that, though.

EDIT: No, he didn't host Maddox. My bad.

Nick has reported on QuarterPounders assault case in the past and is following it. I’m pretty sure he knows what he is dealing with there.

Based on my understanding of Leaf law, cyberbullying laws mainly (if not exclusively) apply to children who are being bullied or people are being stalked.

The USA probably doesn't give a shit about that.

As far as incitement goes.. no.. it has to be something like an imminent threat or something against the president.

Edit: The constant "don't bother these people" kinda also kills that argument.

It wouldn't be blackmail, because blackmail implies they have negative information that they'll leak. More like extortion.
Correct. But I think both could've happened. For example:
  • If they said, "disinvite Vic, or we'll ruin your con by refusing to come to it," they would be attempting to extort the convention.
  • If they said, "disinvite Vic, or we'll tell everyone that your con supports rapists," they would be attempting to blackmail the convention.
  • If they intentionally tried to interfere with Vic's contract (extorting or blackmailing the con into dropping Vic would definitely qualify for this), they would be commiting tortious interference with Vic's contract.
  • If they violate their contracts by not showing up, they would be in breach of their own contracts with the convention.
  • If the con gave in to their demands and disinvited Vic, then the convention would be in breach of its contract with Vic.

From the con's perspective, that last one is important - if the con breaches its contract with Vic, the con has wronged Vic, and it wouldn't cost Vic a dime to sue them. Vic has $107k worth of fuck-you money. They might very seriously want to consider keeping their contracts with Vic. And if those other voice actors do go ahead and breach their own contracts with the con... well, that wouldn't be very smart. I'm sure if the con wanted to pursue damages, someone out there would be very happy to refer a good lawyer to them...

Tortious interference and breach of contract are civil offenses (the word "tortious" is based on the word "tort", which means a civil offense). Extortion and blackmail are criminal offenses. Vic's lawyers are putting together civil actions, but if they found evidence of criminal wrongdoing, they could hand it over to the police; if the police decided that the evidence proved that criminal actions were truly committed, then the county/state/federal prosecutor's office could bring a criminal case, which would be completely separate from Vic's civil case.
In a civil trial, someone (Vic) is claiming to have been harmed in some way by the wrongful acts of another. If the court rules in the favor of the one bringing that accusation, the remedy is typically that the person who wrongfully harmed them has to make restitution (typically by paying them).

In a criminal trial, the government makes the accusation, because the alleged acts violated the government's law. If the court rules in favor of the government, the remedy is that the guilty person has to make restitution to the government - fines or other punishments, and possibly even jail.
I think it would only be TI w/ Contract if they were trying to get Vic kicked by pressuring the director without threatening their own contracts.
I don't think it has to strictly involve personal financial gain for it to be extortion or blackmail. They could just be seeking the gain of bringing harm to their enemy, Vic.

But either way, consider this: If Vic doesn't come to the con, there will be a lot more people at the con potentially buying their stuff. Therefore, they reasonably stand to gain from Vic not being a guest.

Ok look I believe this story as much as the next guy but something feels......fishy. Not to question our Lord and Saviors Nick's integrity as he has no reason to lie (as far as I am aware of) but like how does he know this was the owner of Kamehacon and why can't we see the 3 hour text message of Sabat and Rial harassing the dude? I'm sorry, I feel a little skeptical about it.

Shane is stupid.
His stupidity knows no bounds. Soye did claim to have proof Vic assaulted 4 people he knows way back when this all started. Unsurprisingly he never produced it.
