Remember when Mike tried to be a cringier, unfunnier Wyatt Mann?

I've always loved Monster Madness. It's cool learning new things about old horror movies.

I also like that James is very reasonable about talking about his opinion on movies he like. He's always very cool about it, "If you like this that's cool, if you don't that's cool too." He doesn't have an undertone of smug superiority about his opinions like some other reviewers.

He also doesn't treat games/movies/cartoons/etc like his personal form of therapy, which is great

The Elmo and the Inspector Gadget videos are lowpoints of humanity as a whole. The fact that Mike put quality kahntent like those videos and Loco Bandito out for the public is pretty telling of his utter lack of self-awareness. Shit's painfully unfunny.
I remember when people were making a big deal out of Loco Bandito's racism, which is not the issue at all. That'd be an insult to some legitamately funny racists

Which would you prefer if forced: Elmo, Gadget or Bandito?

Here's the catch: you can't say "a slow death."

I'll give James a ton of credit. Because of his dedication to the horror genre through things like Monster Madness, I've discovered a ton of horror movies and he really helped expand my love of the genre. Just as an example, I probably wouldn't have watched The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari without his ringing endorsement of it since Silent Movies weren't really my bag prior to that.

He wants to go on about Dracula some more? Fuck it, I'm in. Lets see what you got James!

Also, fingers crossed he does something for Godzilla with the new movie coming out.

I didn't particularly like how Mike inched his way to fame through Cinemasaacre.

It was obvious how he played every character guest who appeared in the old days. He was even going to be Spider Man but couldn't fit the costume.

It seems like D-list TGWTG producer level fame, though. I never see anyone talk about how they actually like the guy.

It's kinda unfortunate. I don't even think the issue is Mike necessarily. The guy is kinda obnoxious on his own, but the issue I see in the "James and Mike" videos is that their personality's just don't match. James is this kinda quiet, calm guy that mostly stays quiet. Mike on the other hand is constantly talking and interrupting. They don't match, basically. I think Mike could do well with someone on the same wavelength. It's pretty clear from the video comments that a lot of people don't like the series, which is a shame.

I do however think it's cool that they are long-time friends (from what I gather). They do seem to like each other. I prefer them over other video "couples", such as Game Grumps.

I have to say tho, I like the rental reviews. They're pretty solid material to have on in the background.

The one good thing I can say about Mike other than the size of his huge dong is that he legitimately adores James - sometimes even to an extreme degree (and in that sense he's sort of like just one of the AVGN fans but he's right there and we can relate to him in a way). It's not obvious but if you look at his body language when he's working with James, it's pretty clear (at least for me).

I'm not keeping up with anything other than AVGN so I'm not sure if the feeling has changed at all between them but back in the day I was so certain of it that I'd even worry about Mike going all "psycho ex girlfriend" on James someday lol but I don't think it'd ever actually happen.

I like the rental reviews

Call me degenerate but I read this as "I like the hentai reviews". I was... intrigued, for a second there, to say the least :lit:

Agreed, but I think that's sort of the root of the problem. The dude is having so much fun that more often than not he has a Doug Walker kind of manic energy, like he's "Happy To Be There Guy" Normally, natural chemistry is good (all of the RLM guys), but when one half of a duo is terminally unfunny but feels completely comfortable, it's a machine gun barrage of douchechill inducing chatter.
