That's not a hero, that's an antihero: a shitty person who is doing the right thing for personal reasons. Guess what? We have that, it's Deadpool, and it's Disney's only R rated IP, and it made Fox a fucking TON of money. Deadpool is fun because he is Chaotic Neutral/Chaotic Good and also unique, where all the other heros are Lawful Boring. If we had more violent and eccentric heroes they would be equally boring as all the other capeshit.

Don't worry though, I'm almost positive DC is thunking up a way to create a Deathstroke movie or a Deadshot/Suicide Squad movie that doesn't suck ass like the first one.

tbh I think this attitude comes from a scarcity of "primary sources" from the shooter in the public eye. Which, to be fair, I can understand to an extent. There are some people who legitimately take "inspiration" from past shootings, serial killers, and other crimes of this nature and see it as their opportunity to get some notoriety no matter the cost. Thing is, though, even a cursory glance at the shooter's manifesto reveals a lot about his mindset and what he was trying to do with the stuff that he said. He tried to hit literally almost every button he could. "Dumb jokes inspire real bigotry," "violent video games make people into mass murderers," "this controversial youtuber is fueling a racist subculture," etc. He mentioned Fortnite, he made a heads-up post in advance of the shooting, he streamed it on Facebook. He was trying to get as much attention and cause as many stupid arguments as he could, and literally fucking everyone is falling for it.

They all like to find something to blame though. He's just a mass murderer, but most every killer blames something and wants to stir up attention.

yes exactly! they want their pain meds and they want them now- because they're withdrawing.

I like hearing that they also remind methadone users not to use any benzodiazepines with it, too. that's a recipe, definitely.

I haven't known any (active) junkies for a long, long time. They either stopped or they're dead.

that's pretty much how it goes. when I was younger I knew a handful. one that got kicked out of (unnamed) University for stealing meds from the dead. that guy overdosed later. most of them overdosed. I've seen one person I knew back then, more recently, as a corpse. nasty stuff, heroin.

I don't really know any that stopped- I don't hang around with that whole sober-in-a-gang 12 step crowd.

It's just...tiresome. I reckon so many people leave the social justice / Tumblr sphere bc it eventually gets tiresome getting offended and angry over everything, seeing your favorite media get shitted on just for blander products to be praised at, or seeing how obviously these people have preferences. The terrorists could attack your city and kill your family and you post about it, and these sluts would either ignore it or attack you for not having empathy with fucking killers.

That and it's hilarious how Western-centric they are, despite how much they claim to hate the West. You never see them genuinely talking about horrible stuff happening in Africa, Latin America or the Middle East, except in a way that will lead to them blaming white/straight people for it. Comment on how slavery by Arabs is still a thing, or how there's a huge problem with female murders in Latin America, and you'll get stunned silence about it. Their concept of politics is that of a twelve year old.
