This people are trully excepcional. Do they really think that the world of English dubbing starts and ends at Sabatage's Funimation? Because i am pretty sure Vizmedia would argue otherwise, you know, the guys of NARUTO and JOJOS two of the biggest franchise out there that yes, can rival Dragon Ball.

And what coincidence, Vic is in both of them, and was one of the main villains of the first one. While STILL being an important character on Jojo's too.

That said, Brolly is absurdly popular in Japan, because of the fact that he's pretty much a human wrecking ball that can take Goku and Vegeta on at full Super Saiyan strength and then some. In the US, he's a love/hate character because of his flimsy backstory (he's evil because he and Goku slept in the same nursery and Goku kept crying 24-7, which someone rendered Brolly irreversibly insane as an infant due to constant sleep deprivation) and the fact that his films are basically some of the flimsiest of the Dragon Ball movie canon in terms of excuse plots for fights.

To add onto this, Broly is a huge meme in Japan as well. On the regular he gets crossover art with the Touhou fandom.

ADR Director is essentially the director of the dub. It's actually one of the most important jobs in any dub project, along with the script writer.

ADR simply means Automatic Dialogue Replacement. You are replacing the Japanese dialogue track, to be later mixed in with the original foley.

Bad ADR direction leads to a totally shit dub. See a lot of stuff ADV did.

They're trying to get out in front of Nick to control the narrative.
Their quoted text forbids attending another signing...."Section 4.4 stipulates that guests may not cancel in order to attend another autograph event unless contractually obligated by a studio to do so. "

Edit: The article is written stating that KamehaCon is liable for cancelling guest appearances.... It's obviously misleading as the guests cancelled, not the con.

Edit 2: "Section 4.2 provides reasons that are interpreted as outside either the event or the contracted guest's control but does not offer staff management a catch-all to cancel a guest outside of those parameters. The lawyer asked not to be named in this article. " I wonder if it's even a real lawyer.

If, for the first time on history, even a little part of what ANN said about the contract is true, there is a really BIG LINE about just this action:

And correct me if i am wrong, but i am 99.99% sure that in no part of their actual contract with any studio does it say that: "You must go and sign pics in Dave Trosko d-tier non-existent con". Actually... I think they might have actually gotten this one right.

The issue here is that Lynzee is such a shit writer that at least three of us all read it wrong initially (and she's probably trying to obfuscate more than a little). It's a concession Kameha had no choice but to bring Vic back, and Ty was legally correct to hold their feet to the fire (I'm sure there will be all sorts of bullshit about him being "morally wrong.").

The other point is that Monica and the rest might be in deeper shit by cancelling to do a signing elsewhere.

I had to think if today was merely was a dream because of the four hours of sleep I had.

I think that was more of a last resort if Kameha Con refused to play ball. Beard knows a lot of these cons are getting pressured and isn't looking to actively sue them when he can just point out to them that helping him out, helps them out. Also if those alleged messages are legit, this is worse for them because now they've followed through on their threat to not show up if Vic was still invited.

Long time lurker, but it seems that all this spergery seems to be the results of an industry whose participants haven't been made aware of the consequences of reality as many others have pointed out including Nick and Ty.
The lack of this intense autism seen in the Japanese professional market is perhaps due to the fact that overseas its considered standard for actors to have managers or studios who keep them in line.
The greatest outcome of this retard party is that everyone involved starts acting professional. I know but one can hope.

You're probably right, they're trying to warn them to shut up. Even if this "event" for canceled assholes to sign becomes an official Funi event, it's still ex post facto. They're still liable for breach.
