That's crazy. I don't even think of robbing him (according to his knowledge about Europe I'm in Greece anyway, lol), but somehow I know where he lives, when he's at home, when his girl is working, where he puts down a weapon for "me" and the general layout of the gout-mansion. And I don't even need to think about this, I just know it! And if I forgot, I could just look it up easily on his social media and Youtube. Imagine what could happen if a real criminal would attempt to do something, which I don't recommend btw.

Be always very careful what you put on the internet. Something even kids should know. You need no detractor to do anything, random criminal scum is basically invited, but if something would happen of course "we" would get blamed.

I don't get the weapon placement either. Frankly, it'd make more sense if a tool was in his office since he's there most of the day. Additionally, I don't get his paranoia on this. Phil is an awful mark for robbery, he's always in his house and is up late into the night every day. He's always there in his gated community. Unless someone specifically sought him out to hurt him he's the worst option imaginable for simple theft. Assuming you don't follow him online you'd have to stake him out for weeks in a place that is somewhat inconvenient to enter because of the gates to narrow down the couple of hours a week he's out shopping and waited until then to steal common electronics and other items you could lift from other houses whose owners are out more and on a more consistent basis. You'd just be wasting your time when easier marks surely exist.

Isn't the point of having a self-defense weapon that you have it close by you in a hidden location so you can get to it quickly and there isn't a chance an attacker gets to it before you? The only reason it actually works, is because anyone who lives close to him is too lazy to put in the effort. A wall and gate isn't much to deter a determined detractor; and if there really were people who, as he puts it "wants him dead," that gate isn't going to do much to stop them.

Anyone exceptional enough to actually care enough about DSP to want him dead is also too exceptional to plan a trip to Burger King, let alone to plan an attack on a human being.

Phil doesn't even answer the door without looking out his office window, for one. All that's stopping him from being a modern-day Howard Hughes is the lack of money.

Well I was gonna say he'd just immediately go for a 44 magnum, but those sorta max out around $1000. I assume Phil's "More Expensive is Better" attitude would shine through and price would be all that'd matter to him rather than any considerations of caliber. When all he really would need is something cheap to sit in a drawer and probably never be fired cause I can't imagine him actually going to the range to practice.

Actually thinking about this more, how would it go down with DSP at a gun store? Cause while Phil is every salesman's dream, I've found that people who work at gun stores typically genuinely want to get their customers what they really need for their situation if they don't know. So either he'll listen to exactly what they say or will deride them for "trying to sell him cheap useless junk" when they probably tell him to buy a S&W Shield or Glock.

EDIT: Also hadn't checked before, but Washington State has a five day waiting period for handguns. So even if Phil wanted to get one, I doubt he could get over the hurdle of actually having to go to the store twice.
