I hope for Gearbox's sake that Randy knows what he's doing and that Borderlands 3 is good; because if it BL3 is bad - six months is enough time for word to get around and to effectively kill it's "second launch" on Steam.

I think some people are over Gearbox alread (BL-PreS and Battleborn) but I don't see them having many defenders left if BL3 is garbage on top of the EGS exclusivity.

That announcement trailer looks boring as fuck and I don't find any of those characters particularly exciting or even vaguely new. There's a gameplay trailer on May 1st that has a lot of ground to cover if they're trying to not be a boring retread of the old Borderlands games.

Bit of a warning for anyone downloading the Steam updates to the older Borderlands games if you still are waiting for BL3 or even if you're skipping it cause Epic.

BL2 and Pre-Sequel get some fairly reasonable upgrade patches, but you have download an entirely new game for BL1 since they remastered damn near everything.

Seriously though, Gearboxes are humongous pieces of shit. They 100% got 6 months because Pitchford wanted more money for a year. Pitchford outbid the creators of Homeworld for their own IP and allowed them to develop it while they 'published' it, doing nothing at all except collect their profits.

Randy Pitchford is also more than likely a pedophile since he left child porn on a USB. So you probably shouldn't even buy this on Steam and just pirate it, because Pitchford is the definition of scum. If EA and Activision are the mob bosses of gaming, Gearbox is that pimp in the corner.

This whole thing to me seems like a cashgrab. Epic doing an exclusive on this seems similar to the plot of The Producers, but with video games. Get Epic to pony up the money to make it an "Exclusive", create a really bad game with minimal resources, and then profit off the rest because at this point they don't need this game to sell to make money.

I thought it was a known fact that they were funneling money that Sega gave them from Colonial Marines to Borderlands 1, 2 and DNF? But Sega fucked up with the contract and Gearbox delivered, no matter the state was, Sega couldn't sue over mismanagement. I think they've permanently blacklisted them though.

I also don't give a fuck about BL3. It could be an Epic exclusive permanently. Warframe is superior still IMO if you want a looter shooter, but I admit its complicated and has a lot of moving parts to just get into it. I just don't get how they're going to make it compelling. It was like Diablo with 1 power. BL 2 was fun but eventually my interest just dropped off completely.

I noticed that the BL3 logo is sort of a riff on Catholicism. That's just the sort of cutting edge humor I expect from the laughtastic but very safe humor mill that is Borderlands.
