Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

So in 40K does this make Rackets an Ork?
Screaming about a legal WAAAAAGH!!! as his spawned tech goblins help keep his stuff running?
No just a plain old human, the death toll in 40k probably encourages having 5+ kids for every family due to needing meat for the meat grinder.

I noticed something else that sets the weeb wars apart from previous culture war flashpoints today.

In previous shitstorms, there is usually an unseen tipping point, beyond which even the most zealous of defenders will ratchet back their ardent defense of a given bit of nonsense a few notches. Eventually it all builds to the point where they quit the battlefield and pretend they won anyway, which is usually the point where it's tacitly realized that they lost. They may jockey for position but the war for all intents and purposes is over at that point, and the only ones still clinging to it are the TRUE AND HONEST believers who refuse to acknowledge that there was ever any wrongdoing.

For GG, that moment was the UN CVAWG Report. For ComicsGate, it was Marvel shitcanning the bulk of the shitheads resonsible for their latest literary bolus. But both of these had their moment where some idiot or another took the moment to assume that the opposition was in any way relevant. In GG you could at least claim that maybe some women had been harassed, because even though you had shitheads like Wu claiming anything was harassment, you had multiple third-party troll groups muddying the waters, the GGRevolt crowd constantly harassing people, and so on, so there was at least the illusion of legitimacy somewhere within that claim. In CG there was significantly less of this, since comics have been inclusive since forever ago, but you still had people making the claim (though it admittedly died off significantly after Ardian Syaf inserted openly anti-semetic Koran verses in the comics he was drawing).

There's none of this in the weeb wars. None. No one believes the KickVic crowd. Even if you ignore things like Samantha Inoue-Harte (which you should not), Pensacon (ditto), and Meepy Gal (still hilarious), there's been so many cases of faked evidence, intention to fake evidence, and people whose footage was used without permission by the KickVic crowd (who subsequently told them to fuck off and die) that they've not only obliterated their own credibility, but lambasted anyone who pointed out they don't have any credibility, and they can't even get their own side to run interference for them.
They're behaving a lot like Rachel Maddow after the Mueller report dropped.
That entitled, oblivious attitude that only comes from years of skating by on your own bullshit.

It's pretty obvious they expected the initial shitstorm to work. When it backfired and Vic lawyered up, that's when the doubling down began, figuring they just needed to double down to make it more effective.

Other people have been made to cuck out by causing a social media shitstorm, and thus they have come to believe, with some degree of reason, that trial by social media really is effective, because trial by legal system is long, messy, and requires a much higher bar of proof.

What we are seeing now is increasing desperation. The idiots and assholes who keep doubling down are NOT confident their bullshit will stand up in a court of law, they are praying this will all go away until then and banking on Vic wimping out before the Primarch and his Adeptus Sororitas bring the Exterminatus.

The people who are wise enough to realize a courtroom will fuck them over have gone silent, only voices left now are the stupid people hoping it never gets to that point and/or the idiots who think the same shit they say on social media works before a bar of justice.

I hope they get RT because it might be the only chance RWBY has at this point, if not for becoming "good" again somehow it could at the very least be put out of its misery.

Yeah, I remember back when RWBY was "good" and had potential, then Monty died and it became Miles and RT's own personal political mouth piece. Here's to hoping that RT or at least Miles gets sued, but as I said before perhaps that's too hopeful. Well, hope for the best, expect the worst.

Not to rain on your parade. But if Miles gets sued. He is getting fired since he becomes a liability for the company. And RWBY will be running without him. RT have NO reason to cut down that show since it brings them so much money along with RVB, Camp Camp and Gen;Lock doing well recently.

If anything they will be getting rid of Jen, Shannon and Miles for flapping their lips in Twitter.

If Burnie, or Grey did the talking. Then that would be a problem for RT.

That’s unless discovery comes and links Funimation’s involvement and Rooster Teeth’s, since they let go of Vic in correspondence with each other, and they’re both in the same state, along with sharing voice actors. A phone call, text message, email, or even a hand-written note.

Beard said he would get these people in jail for perjury he caught them lying in court.

He said that could happen. It's pretty unusual, though. Otherwise virtually every family court litigant would be in prison. It's usually reserved for when the perjury actually affected the proceedings instead of just the dumb, lying-ass party who lost anyway.

Texas has mandatory reporting when you know of a criminal allegation.

Only for child abuse. However, they claim to have knowledge of exactly this. So if they ever are in a situation to testify about it, they should be asked when they knew about it, and if they admit they knew about it and didn't report it, should be immediately referred to the state attorney for prosecution.

The court generally isn't out to get anyone, so they'll give anyone some room to maneuver if they'll admit to being mistaken, etc. If you keep being a dumbass and wear out the patience of judge and everyone else, then they'll hit you with the bat. Most people aren't stupid enough to keep lying through their teeth after it's been pointed out that not only is there proof of their lies, but that they could be charged with perjury if they keep pushing it.

The courts are busy enough that they'll let the previous bullshit slide as having been misremembered or some kind of genuine mistake, especially when they'll just admit to doing something else wrong that they can be punished for. Most people can do the math and realize that they can just accept the loss, or they can keep going, lose anyways, and have additional punishment on top of it.

I'm not sure that even these idiots are so exceptional to try to keep running with their lies after all of the evidence gets dropped on them. The threats of jail over perjury are there to hopefully speed up the process and reach the desired result. Most lawyers aren't vindictive enough to grind someone to dust under the full weight of the law.

Maybe I'm being too :optimistic: as usual, but I think you're sorely underestimating people who have been carrying this grudge for over a decade. They've already quintuple and sextupled down on this. They relish their opportunity to educate the legal system on how wrong it is and tell them how to do their job, starting with crucifying and legally unpersonning Vic then tossing Nick and the Beard into prison. Most likely from there, they'll declare it National Social Justice Day Vindication of Survivors Day and make BigBeluga the grand marshall at their victory parade....

Yes, that's the lovely little drama that plays out in their minds. It's really easy to do that when you're sitting at home being an internet tough guy on Twitter to the bootlicking sycophants that follow you and lap that shit up, but a different manner entirely when there's a judge giving you the look and telling you that if you're lying, you could end up going to prison for several years.

It reminds me of one of those protesters that took over that federal building in Oregon some years ago. One of the main guys had a similar big hero narrative that he kept feeding himself. He even wrote some really shitty novels where his self-insert character acted all of that nonsense out. In the end he got dusted and didn't appear as though he was even close to taken any feds with him like he'd written and dreamed about doing. Life had no intentions of following his idiotic little plan.

Reality is a bitch and you have to be really far gone to actually ignore the gravity of the situation you find yourself in.

They seem to be referencing a recent interview of his where Chuck Huber talks about how fringe sciences fascinate him and he talks about his theories about reality and how it might be different depending on your perspective of human/god/whatever. He also references the 200 proofs of flat earth site

This is probably one reason they're going after Langdon.

Granted, I think some of the things Langdon believes are silly, but that ain't a fucking crime. I've already said I listened to Art Bell when I was a kid, and it was a bit of a guilty pleasure.

Ron, for fuck's sake, listen to your lawyer (if you're even going to have one after this act of idiocy) and SHUT UP.

"We" now believe he doesn't actually have one. The lawyer he mentioned was probably just for an initial consult.

Can somebody tell me what connection does dominique skye have with Funimation?

None. Except that she's friends with some of the VAs there.

The HR thing was bullshit she made up.

Miles Luna is likely a Vice-Principal of RT with hiring and firing influence, if not authority. If BHBH can bring a case against him, and it involves his actions as an employee of RT, such as letting Vic go and issuing their statement on the matter, RT is liable.

Huh, learn something new every day.
New german word, and these people are worse than I thought.

Since Ron Soye is running his mouth, I'll teach you another handy word.

Backpfeifengesicht, technically meaning "slap face", mostly used to describe a person who's infuriating to a point you'd want to punch in the face (in minecraft).

Ty's daughter giving a little wink...

Can't imagine she's happy at Ron trying what he did to her dad.

Also, Ty has given her a stealth Beard that will be activated when the time is right.

We should call her "the good Brianna." As opposed to "the bad Brianna," who is friends with pot-thot AWL.

As this person just said Miles quite possibly being a Vice-Principal would probably drag RT into This. That and geting rid of three of your voice actors that work on quite a few of your shows and also in Miles case write for them would be crippling to the company and those shows anyway.

Especially if Miles and co try pull a Kamehameha Con stunt and try to get more of the voice actors at RT involved, of course this last part is just a hypothetical.
