These female spies would be trained in speaking whichever language native to their zone of operation fluently and without accent. Black Widow's background was based on these female spies.

Not to mention there are plenty of people who move to the US who learn to speak without an accent. Just like with playing a musical instrument, learning to speak a language without your native accent showing is just a matter of training, practice, and dedication for most folks. It's true that some people have native languages that are more difficult to overcome than others, and there are some who can never get over it fully, but it can be done. Sara Bareilles has already proven herself as a talented singer and songwriter. She's proven she can deliver the goods, and make music people actually want to buy. She can fill seats in a theatre or music venue. Whether you actually like her music or not, the fact is that she has done the difficult, dedicated work required to be a successful singer and songwriter--and she maintains her successful career because she continues to do it.

Bareilles isn't hugely famous, or at least not that I'm aware of, but I'm sure she has fans, as well as lots of casual admirers of her music, and those people would definitely be interested in this news story. The songs on her new album are also inpired by the current poitical and social climate, and might be of interest to people who formerly hadn't paid her much attention.

That she's a successful songwriter means that even her most personal and deeply-felt songs are ones that many, many people can relate to. While they won't speak to everybody, I have no doubt the songs on her new album will resonate a lot of people, especially women, who worry about what kind of world is being created under Trump.

Bareilles' new album, then, is of wide interest. It is newsworthy. She is a successful artist, with some measure of fame, and she has new work for people to buy, enjoy, and find personally meaningful.

Russell Greer, on the other hand, is an angry little nobody on a futile mission to force the biggest female pop star in the world to pay attention to him. That's it. He occasionally writes a crappy song, with the sole purpose of catching the attention of his favorite female celebrity, but that doesn't make him a full-fledged songwriter. Other than those of us who laugh at his stupidity online, nobody knows who he is or has any interest in his shitty songs, or hearing about his ludicrous "plights."

So no, Russell; there is no "double standard." To say there is one implies that there are any similarities at all between you and your shitty attempt at manipulation (which happens to be in musical form), and a successful singer-songwriter whose songs are, apparently, enjoyed by a lot of people.
