He only made something like $30 off of that $100 dono. $60 for the game, and let's be generous and give him another tenner for sales tax and tax on the income minus whatever minute amount he gets to write off. So he lost 70% of the single largest amount he's gotten since his last "marathon", not counting wedding/family shit.

Don't forget the portion that would need to be set aside for federal (20-25%, probably?) and state (1.5%, so only $1.50). He made like $10 off the $100. But, of course, he also got ~$130 in cheers + subs + whatever he got in tips. And since the game was already paid for, that was all profit.

Yeah, you're right about the money he made, and I think he actually got a significant portion of it because he was playing a new game and not just pissing and moaning about MK11 for the 5th day straight; even trolls get tired of the same shit day in and day out, imo.

That won't register with him. He doesn't know how to gauge engagement nor does he understand why people attend streams and what sells as entertainment. Think about that one "office" walkthrough vid he did where he showed off his new AC unit and sperging out before anyone even said anything about, "People are gonna say I'm using Patreon money for this and not what I'm supposed to," or whatever he said. Everything all goes into one account and it's all his money to do with what he wants. He thinks he should be able to spend that money on whatever the fuck he wants (and he's not necessarily wrong as long as he lives up to promises/goals, but at least bite your fucking tongue for fuck's sake and sound grateful) and if he got it in redeemable code form then he doesn't have that thought lingering in the back of his mind that he could take his horse out to the nice All You Can Eat Buff-Hay that opened up on the other side of his surburban hellscape.

He's fucked either way. There's a good reason his donation amount is going down with each emergency. Those that don't believe him anymore won't donate as they think its a scam, those that still believe him won't donate as they don't believe they're helping. People donate to emergencies to help people, and when they see 2 weeks later that they're still fucked, it causes them not to donate again because they see it as pointless.

Phil is going to stop making payments on the Connecticut condo and when the bank threatens to sue he'll be like: "Well then I'll see your ass in court ACK ACK ACK!". Then a couple of days before he's due to be in court, he'll send the bank an email saying: "Hey I have an idea, let's go into the courtroom and act like everything is normal but instead we'll suddenly do DX crotch chops at the Judge, it'll be a riot!"

Well, at least he has a tax attorney to represent him in court.

Edit: I hope he needs another attorney for court room stuff so that he refers to his two attorneys as "my legal team" while begging for quarters in pre-streams. That would be a fever dream come true for me.

I still dont get after ALL THIS, people still thinks dsp saying the truth and just start theorizing.

I bet nothing happened, he just wants to set up his next scam.
To be fair on Sunday night he was being extremely irritable and people were already theorizing something was wrong. You may be right that it's nothing, but if so Phil is pretty method and good at foreshadowing.

Phil definitely made that call to the bank. What an idiot. If you're going to let your place go into foreclosure, just let the process take its course. Telling them you're not paying and to immediately take the condo away was guaranteed to raise a red flag. I'm sure that phone call was the bank asking him questions about his financial situation, warning him about what could possibly happen (i.e. you're still going to owe us money, dummy, and we're gonna take it out of your paychecks if necessary) and they didn't listen to his pissbaby excuses about detractors and book-smart Google employees.
I wonder how many times Phil made similar calls to people when he worked for the bank, and now he gets the same treatment. Good.

A fun thing to think about is Phil spending ages trying to make a call and raging out about the numbers lagging or working wrong.
Then he says "It's not my fault!"

Dave wants to default on all those things, he needs to come here to Texas. It's a debtors paradise. Except for the state and federal government, they can't garnish wages, can't put a lien on property, can't do a damn thing except send letters - and then, only a specific maximum number, otherwise they're responsible for predatory behavior.

He would be scared stupid to go to Texas. Loose gun laws + possible detractors = "Muh detractors are gonna shoot me dood!"

Given that he considers an 80-degree day to be a heat wave he'd likely spontaneously combust two seconds after stepping outside to go to the store in the summer.

Imagine if his AC unit went out. "These stupid AC mechanics, it's a detractor. I did everything right to keep it running. There's nothing I could do about it dood."

He's wrong about his recent "give me stuff instead of money so I don't have to pay taxes" shtick by the way. If a business is given something it's taxable as income for its fair market value. He's not going to get in any trouble over a $60 game or probably even $800 TV/console package but he is committing tax evasion.

I don't understand why he would rather foreclose on the condo and actively stop paying and lose it instead of selling it and actually getting some money back. What is the reasoning? Just everything about that idea sounds fucking dumb I don't understand how anyone capable of reading at a 3rd grade level thinks it is a good idea.

He owes way more than what it is worth. He'd lose like $90,000
