Anyone who didn't see Melissandre or Greyworm dying is a fucking re.tard. Whenever a character goes, "Yeah, we're going to make it through this big battle and retire on a beach." or "I really shouldn't be going into battle with this injury, but I must get inside the castle for the enemy's secrets" or "I should heal, but my enemy is in the perfect spot, now is the time to strike" you're basically telegraphing
This character is going to die. No shit Mel was going to bite it after Greyworm didn't die.
Also this has to be the show with most incompetent fucking leaders on the planet. I cannot express how fucking awful this show is. I just watch it every week to see how terrible it gets. Its like when they have battles, you're watching two re.tarded people trying to play Total War.
I just watch this show to see how stupid it can get. I haven't cared about anything since they gave Ramsay Bolton villain plot armor. But this episode honestly fucking broke me with how dumb and incompetent the heroes are.
Jon: "My sister is a ninja assassin who can shapeshift and killed an Ice Lich with a dagger. Why are we even fighting a war? You know assassins exist right? They're a thing used to kill monarchs who are unpopular, with you know, no heirs? She's got no allies, just let her kill Euron, shape-shift into him and stab Cersi many, many times. She would get wet just by me telling her to do it."
Dany: "MY PLAN IS BETTER:
Jon: "Hey, my brother knows all of human history. Maybe we should ask him about the weaknesses of the keep so maybe we can sneak an army in...."
Dany: "CRIPPLES DON'T HAVE RIGHTS."
Jon: "Well, maybe we wait a couple of days, recouperate, gather more allies. We wait for the ships from the iron islands so we can blockade them. The Golden Company costs money right? We don't even need to go to King's landing. We can rob Cersi's tax men. The Golden company is mad expensive, every day is costing her money. She's already poor from all the wars she's fought and in debt with the iron bank. We just keep deepening that debt and bankrupt the Kingdom. We'll force her hand and...."
Dany: "MY ENEMIES GET STRONGER THE LONGER WE WAIT."
Jon: "Thats...thats not how any of this works. Nobody likes this bitch. Winter is here and food is low. All we have have to do is cut their supply lines. The North knows how to survive Winter. We can distribute food to the people, feed them and get them to turn. The Golden Company will starve too and take food from Cersi, exacerbating the situation. We've got the Iron Islands to blockade Euron along with our own ships."
Dany: "THE PEOPLE WILL UNDERSTAND WHEN I MURDER ALL OF THEM THAT I SAVED THEM FROM TYRANNY AND IT WAS ALL CERSI WHO MADE ME LET THEIR BLOOD RUN IN THE STREETS AND THEIR CHILDREN BURNED ALIVE"
Jon: "That's seriously not how any of that works."
Dany: "YOU KNOW NOTHING JON SNOW"
Jon: "Fuck this shit."
beheads Dany, kicks Tyrion off of the wall, lets Arya kill Cersi, lets Sansa sit on the Iron Throne with Varys as hand, Jon goes off to North of the Wall and fucks all the Redheaded Wildlings with Tormund
Be honest, Tormund and Jon North of the Wall, low fantasy adventure in icy Conan the Barbarian land would be a better show than any of this shit.
This show is going to go down in history as one of the biggest fuckups in all of TV history. HBO completely blew it by rushing the show closure to essentially 7 seasons vs more that was needed.
D&D have diverged from GRRM’s original story as well as HBO execs have put pressure on the show to go in different direction for ratings and alienating fans. My only guess is they’re ending the show in a way they think will be popular and get people to watch the spin-offs but not realizing they’re really pissing off fans. HBO is mega fucked.
They were swirling the drain before AT&T bought them but they don’t know how to run that garbage either.
HBO isn't the problem. The showrunners didn't want to do it. D&D are possibly the worst showrunners from any show I've ever seen. HBO wanted them to do a solid 10 seasons, not split shit like this. And they were like, 'Nah.' So there really wasn't time to resolve anything or have any potent build-up. You also have to realize D&D really basically stopped caring when book material ran out. They honestly want to be done with Game of Thrones as fast as possible. It wasn't possible with 7 seasons, so they had to split it off, not even a real season. 6 episodes in the US isn't a season of a show, its a mini-series.
