Arin Hanson / Egoraptor / Grump - "Hey I'm Grump!" of Game Grumps fame, hypocritical SJW doxer, shat himself recording a let's play

is oney an sjw too? I only occasionally watched his shit and it seemed like game grumps but better but alas I still think the format is insufferable. I just don't get the genre of "guys making irrelevant jokes for 8 minutes and talking about the game for 2"

like jontron went in the polar opposite direction with the high effort, long bake time content and its superior in every way. the jokes are funny, the effects and production values are amazing and the core content is either explicitly about gaming or explicitly about memes or joking around like the flex tape videos. id rather have one amazing video every 4 months than cringe shit 5 days a week.

Shut up, nigger.

No what?
Where in the hell did you get that inference from that? Anyone can make good or boring content that isn't a sjw thing like at all.
You literally replied to a post showing he isn't because any actual sjws would automatically disavow those statements and start begging for forgiveness trying to signal for attention and not reacting with basically a huge middle finger saying "fuck off."

If a format is shitty to you doesn't make them an sjw that just silly considering if that was true people would actually want to watch NoBullshit content outside of controversial topic videos and take a huge guess what doesn't happen.

I don't really see the strategy. It had all the depth of a game of slapsies.

Dive Kick 100% has all the depth and strategy of a "real" fighting game, though (head games, spacing/footsies, zone control, etc). That's the entire point.

Dive Kick was made to show (and it did) that Fighting Games don't need complicated layers of execution to be compelling games. It was made in direct response to some of the nonsense being put into fighting games, in particular shit like 1-Frame Links (Street Fighter 4), 3-Frame Links but on a game with ~15ms of intentional input lag (Street Fighter 5), and "you've landed a jab but do have you practiced this specific 300+ hit combo enough times to do damage"? (Marvel vs. Capcom 3).

So when are we starting the Game Grumps death pool?

Predict who's leaving next, when, or additionally it can be the date Game Grumps dies. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't make it to 2020.

I think Arin is going to coast on Game Grumps for a long time, even if he has to actually cut staff at some point. For Arin and Dan, it has to be the best low-effort paycheck they've ever received. They could really pear it down to just the two of them and a single editor, should shit hit the fan.

If they're still active by June of next year, I'll be amazed.

As far as who's the next to go - I'm rooting for Dan; and I think Allie is being groomed to be his replacement. Absolute speculation on my part; but it does seem odd when a social media girl gets more air time than she has any business to (has her own mic during streams - even though her job is only to moderate the chat); given what her job is supposed to be (keeping fans informed of merch drops, schedule changes, etc). the fact that the Grumps and Suzy have been singing her praises as of late also seems odd - like they're painting her as something bigger than she is.

I don't think Arin has that level of long term planning. Whenever Dan leaves he's just going to throw a dart at a dartboard and call it a day.

Arin has invested too much of himself into his "brand" to the point that even if everyone else leaves I feel like he will continue to try to be relevant. In 5 years or so, when he is just another boring streamer, he will still think that he is the creator of this giant media empire, but just maybe have the self awareness to think he's just fallen on hard times. He won't stop until he dies. He has nothing else to fall back on.

He really has become the Doug Walker of videogames.

Wait I seem to have somehow missed these. Which episodes?

Also Oneyplays has been hitting it out of the park with their sonic autism 2 videos starring Cory and Jeff.
I think it’s mostly Chris and his buddies are actually taking the piss out of the Autism involved in the Sonic fan base and the franchise as a whole instead of just taking cheap shots and loudly screaming that Sonic sucks every few seconds.

Kinda helps that they have a weirdly in-depth knowledge of all the bullshit involved with Sonic as a whole. Arin’s style for playing a Sonic game typically involves playing the game badly and screaming out random nonsense when he gets angry. It was funny the first couple of playthroughs, but after the 3rd time it just got painful.

IIRC: Some time during the DingDong & Julian days, they'd very sparingly make fun of GG, particularly Arin's capacity for incompetence in playing literally anything, by the way of referential jokes to things Arin would commonly do.

I don't think it helps that most of Arin's commentary on Sonic Games boil down to: "Whoo! Isnt this game bad, Dan??" every episode. Like dude, alright, we get it; you're preying on the game's mediocrity to overcompensate for your shitty play. Don't gotta remind us every two seconds.
