Nintendo isn't the one censoring their games anymore though, that's Sony. It's been a while since we've seen any Treehouse controversy so if I had to guess this would just be another example of a single employee using the forum because he likes it or whatever.

Actually, Nintendo did censor a bit of Super Smash Bros Ultimate, specifically an animation frame for Mr. Game & Watch. That frame depicted him waving a torch and wearing a feather on his head as a reference to a Game & Watch title that featured Native Americans attacking a fort. ResetERA caught wind of this single frame and threw a bitchfit about it, and Nintendo released a patch that removed the feather shortly afterward.

Not sure if it was just NOA that censored the game, but there you go.

If you've been around Nintendo long enough you realize that they really have not changed at all. The only drastic change was when the N64 ended and they jettisoned their major western developer who did far more for both the SNES and n64 than nintendo's own output did.

This Declaration that nintendo won't censor is fan made bullshit or wishful thinking. Nintendo's own crowd are a bunch of fake nerds who mostly latch onto the brand due to notoriety of it's first 3 systems that were also the only good home consoles they pushed out. They don't really have a strong moral standing and will just side with the company on whatever they deicde because they want NEXT BIG MARKETABLE THING THEY CAN BUY MERCH FOR!

You has Xenoblade Chronicles X and Fire Emblem and that was this gen. Nintendo had two consoles in a single generation and the Switch most definitely won't keep up with the PS5 or Xbox and no minor revision will be able to fix that. They're going to need a new console soon after the PS5 gets established.

Sony's censorship deal really hasn't struck any major titles or titles that even did well in Japan, it's mostly just touched visual novels which nobody really cares about. It also so they can legally sell their shit in china without needing to have a corporate partner with a government entity.
