They're dragging Beth Elderkin and the io9 article into the party, just as Ty wanted. Good.

And they are using MichellMcC73's erotic fanfiction as a source. :story:
Jesus. Ty really is playing 10D Chess. He tricked the opposition into getting Elderkin into the party.

Hope someone does a welfare check on Marchi. She may seek the fate she hoped Vic would opt for.
I know it's a typo (I think you meant wellness check) but goddamned people are going to be needing a welfare check after this.

I'm not gonna dig through 10 whole pages of replies but i'd like to bring something up. they claim that because of the statute of limitations, vic can't sue for tort.

am I reading that right? are they really and purposefully misunderstanding the legal definition that any numpty this side of venus could easily recite to mean the exact opposite of what it means?

Too bad an insanity defense can't be rasi

I wonder ... if that was an admission that they've been doing this for years. Long enough that the statute has run out on some of them.

It seems that they are throwing whatever they can at this to see what sticks and yes, that's my interpretation as well.

I know there was a typo with one date or another in Ty's initial filing, but surely no one is that much of a brainlet to have noticed it was a typo right? It has to be another stalling tactic by Casey "oh he put the wrong date here, let me refute it by using the date as printed so he has to file a correction, that'll show him".

Honestly he could have been way more underhanded to get her served. Follow her to lunch or something she had to of left her house at some point
Indeed they could have gone to more extreme lengths to have her served. This way, however, forces the court to get involved in her service-ducking shenanigans. The court will not be amused.

Sure, they could've probably served her weeks ago if they were willing to stake out her house 24/7 and pull clever tricks. This way, though, she's managed to get herself on the judge's shit list before she's even officially been served. I think that's well worth the extra time that it took.
As far as I understand, if a suit (Civil) is moving forward depositions are part of the discovery phase, so there is no getting away from it totally. The game they were playing was to A. Depose Vic, then B Motion for TCPA, which has a 90 day stay, Vic could not speak under the stay since he was deposed, but Mo-Ron would not have to be quiet because they were not under the stay, and could trash him with no response. And by the veiled threat from Casey, it was their intention to shame him into dropping things to save his "Personal Privacy"
Not exactly. Nothing would've stopped either party from talking. Vic just wouldn't have anything to say, because if MoRon successfully managed to avoid getting deposed before filing the TCPA, Vic wouldn't have any juicy new deposition info from them. Well, that, plus he's a fine upstanding gentleman who wouldn't go around defaming them anyway.

They, meanwhile, would probably take something he said in his deposition out of context and call it a "confession".
It might not have been wait, it's just that the Texas system is slow and took a while to show up online.
The length of time it took to show up online doesn't matter, because the date and time when it was filed is stamped on the first page. According to that, it was filed late.
I was under the impression he was suing for TI with prospective business relations (or similar, not TI with contract) specifically because it seems much easier to prove how they've affected his prospective business relations. Proving interference with a specific contract would be difficult, but not impossible (especially after the whole Kamehacon ousting).
He's suing for both of those claims. TI with prospective business relations, and TI with contract. And defamation also.

In the middle of all this big news I just want to update that no one has donated to MarzGurl's GFM in 3 days.

Haven't seen any updates from her either, but I'm blocked on twitter. Did she just take the money and is hoping everyone will forget with all the other drama going on?
Pretty much. We all saw that coming. On an unrelated note, fucking called it.
