Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

I've come to realize what the single most important take-away of GG is, thanks to this post. Read on for the deets:

One thing true of all Social Justice/Intersectionalist ideology is that they can't win debates against anyone remotely competent and usually run screaming from them. Because they're heavily enshrined in emotional knee-jerk, even token facts are almost never on their side and, as such, they can't argue from a position of logic or rationality. As anyone who's done debate will tell you, Facts are the silver bullet of discourse and if you don't have them on your side, you're facing an uphill battle at best.

But these morons not only don't have facts on their side, they don't have a mandate (their positions are fringe minority at best), and they rely on stacking the deck to accomplish anything. The argument for a while was that their ideology was nascent, as evidenced by their lock on the activist online press, but as we've seen from almost every clickbait outlet starting to die off, this wasn't the case. They were being kept afloat by venture capital and the algorithms from Social Media.

I think this is one of the biggest reasons their hate for GG stretched so far beyond the bounds of ideological rationality and why so many of them were willing to suicide bomb their careers in the Autism Holy War - GG was a direct assault on their claims of being the norm. At its height, GG could sieze control of any hashtag, and even cursory study of the communities that sprung up involved with GG compared to their counterparts in opposition showed the Anti-GGers to be insanely outnumbered. This is why their entire strategy became "shut it down," and why GG scared them so much: Because they couldn't even survive a debate with a group of vidya-loving speds, let alone someone with clout, and GG made it very clear that these assholes weren't as in control as they liked to pretend.

With GG up and running - and surviving - they were outnumbered and outmuscled in their own hugboxes by a bunch of spergy gamers. There was no hashtag they could run on Twitter that GG could not take and gain control of. Numerically, GG was getting hundreds of thousands of tweets a day at its prime.

Since then, it's only gotten worse for them: People know they're full of shit and it's come out that their entire ideological lynchpin was perched atop a house of cards. With so many of the big journo outlets going bankrupt, it's increasingly clear that they never had the mandate they said they did, and since the only way they can win is if literally everyone against them is denied a chance to speak, they've got their work cut out for them.

That's why Vic grinding their faces in their own shit is so satisfying now.
Reminds me of how the orca and her orbiters won't debate Ethan in Comicsgate 1 v 1 and throw out bullshit excuses as to why like getting paid or staying anonymous just to continue screeching on twitter all day about him. They are terrified of actually debating any of these people and being forced to back up their shit.

SJWs can't debate because they aren't arguing in good faith, they know the real reasons why they want what they want are incredibly unpopular, so they try to disguise them in more palatable arguments. They can't defend those arguments though, because they don't actually believe in them. The thing that made me really figure this out was debating someone on abortion.

Fuck it, let's pay 'em. I'd gladly throw some credits in the pot. The lols would be epic and the memes never ending. The aftermath would end their bullshit quickly.
When they refrain from actual debate while being offered what they said they wanted they also look like the shits they are.
Win Win.

Pledge leftover funds to some sort of wholesome charity.

Oh God what kind of content does PenguinPerv make that's 18+?

Are you SURE you really wanna find out? For all we know, it could be shit so horrifying that they give ProJared's "itty bitty bro" pics some competition.

Funny enough, someone I know IRL came to that realization earlier today in a fb chat about abortion. She calmly and politely explained her viewpoint and got cussed out for "harrassing" people in the group before being muted. She kept asking me why she had been targeted like that for simply disagreeing. I was reminded that, while most of us here might be used to this bullshit, not everyone has been hardened to it like we are.

I told her that, having dealt with this behavior for years, the best thing to do (in my experience) is to laugh at their stupidity, perhaps make a joke at their expense, and move on.

(She also said something along the lines of "Now I get why you hate feminists", which got a huge laugh out of me. )

RadFems assume that every poor decision made by women was because of some external pressure forcing them to be retarded. Never that women are, y'know, people with agency that sometimes do stupid selfish or malicious things. They want women to have zero accountability and for society to adapt completely to their whims. No sister is ever wrong (unless they disagree).

They are rarely open about these supremacist views and will instead try to shoehorn their arguments into one of "equality". Hence the rapid decline in the specific meaning of words that end in -ist and -ism in recent years as their talking points have become more mainstream.

I guarentee gayops is afoot that weekend, but if the process server doesn't attempt to serve her at the convention, Toole will write about how the lawsuits are all smoke and mirrors.

They're not going to do that. They're just going to do what they asked the court to do and nail it to the door.

They're strategy became shut it down when they identified the nature of who they picked a fight with. Gamers behavior adheres to a Find, Fix, Finish, Exploit, Analyze, Disseminate cycle. (F3EAD) natively as a consequence of their hobby. When you have an undefined number of people you are trying to pacify, and you're hit with a myriad of tactics until one works, and then sometimes, within hours, all combatants are using those tactics before a solution can be presented it puts you on the defensive as a matter of course (logistically it has to). Each iteration of this necessitates that a counter be more (pardon the terminology) broad spectrum. The broadest of which, in the case of GG, was the complete denial of the identity of Gamer. Unfortunately, for them, they chose poorly. Given the circumstances, I think the result would have been the same if they had numbers on their side.

I've heard this summed up best as the following.

"The important thing to remember is never start an internet shit fight with an opponent that is going to have more fun with it than you. You always lose"

In the case of GG a bunch of internet "journalist" "the internet is serious business" types decided to face off against a bunch of Sperg Gamer "the internet is not serious buisness types" with a dash of /pol/.... they predictably got the asses handed to them repeatedly for well over a year.

In this case it's a handful of VA's that think they are hot shit vs a bunch of pissed off anime fans, People that are fucking tired of #metoo, and people that want to be entertained.... Predictably, they are getting their asses handed to them.

Weebwars is a curious juxtaposition - here you have the Twitterati who at the same time treat their copious time spent at the platform dead seriously, and shield themselves with "lmao it's just tweets" - they're facing lawyers who have declared that this is reality, and are dragging them kicking and screaming from Twitter hugboxes into the light of a Texas courtroom. It's a clear escalation and, hopefully, the next chapter in the handbook for everyone facing an internet lynch mob.

From reddit

was a cameraman for one of my jobs and also worked at cons in my home state in between for a couple of encounters:

Sean Schemmel (Goku) is a dick, and takes playing Goku waaaaay to seriously. He is possessive about the role, and insults others who've voiced him. He once asked Goku's JP voice if she feels ownership of all she's done, she said no and she appreciates the character and the effects of it, but that's not because of her directly. He was in shock to this and kept egging her on to try and make himself feel better about how he feels doing the role. Ask him about his other roles and he's better (He would LOVE to talk more about Lucario and Crowler), don't ask him to sign stuff for a friend because he just thinks it's for you. He put quotation marks around my friend's name who wanted him to sign his DBZ movie case. Told con staff he was tired of signing material and wanted to end his session early.

Chris Sabat (Vegeta) on the other hand is a genuine funny nice guy. While he has gotten tired of doing lines, he'll always play it off like a joke at first and do it for you, you may think he's heard it all from fans, but he's done multiple signatures at a 1 sig limit line just because people tell him how much his work as Vegeta, All Might, Armstrong and more they love and appreciate all he's done.

Vic Mignogna (Broly, Ed Elric) is weird. I never saw anything to support the headlines, but he always wore tight clothing and/or plunging V-Necks. It was off putting. He wasn't a dick in general, and if he wanted something he'd address the staff accordingly calmly if he could do something. His autograph lines got egregious. We had Cristina Vee and Erica Mendez at the same table as him, he stole their autograph time being at the same table since the majority of his fans took up almost the whole line. Cristina Vee rolled her eyes and Erica Mendez was exasperated by him, all he said was "Sorry ladies, got mine and you got yours." THAT was pretty dickish of him. I met Cristina Vee the next day who had her own separate table with Mendez and they were better.

I spent half an hour speaking to Troy Baker about guitar, Mark Hamill, and convincing me I didn't need college per say to get into acting, but dedication, practice, and a head facing what's in front no matter what to get somewhere. All because I brought in the chairs for his panel. He helped out bringing them out.

Literally what is the point of him mentioning this? It has no bearing on him as a person and isn't nearly as funny as his con pants.

The stuff about Schemmel doesn't surprise me at all, and I'm fairly certain nobody on this forum is shocked, either.

After seeing the Vic thing, if that incident was why Cristina Vee joined KickVic, then that's some major green-eye shit there.

Gonna take this with a grain of salt since it's a random anonymous person.

I've never been to a con, but I'd imagine it gets pretty loud, especially if Vic had a big line waiting to meet him. What's the likelihood this guy overheard what Vic said to Erica and Cristina, as well as Schemmel talking to staff?

For the reddit comment, that makes sense. I could see him making a snarky joke about how everyone was going to see him since he's a big name and that strokes egos. I mean everyone gets to be a dick once in a while but boy is it petty if that's the reason you believe Vic is a pedophile. I could see a lot of people hating the guy since his fandom could get very annoying even if he's a nice person. I mean how many people hate Pewdiepie because of his fans? It's not hard to see why people dislike him at cons.

Sabat is the one that confuses me in all of this. I mean he is probably a prick which is fine, but why in the hell would he go so far to risk it all over some rando VA? I probably knew more about Sabat than I did Vic before this. It's just a big why. Marchi thinks she's untouchable which is why she went so far in. Rial hates Vic probably for shutting down the affair. Toye and Sean are just beta white knights standing in for brownie points. DC is probably covering his ass from pedophilia. Sabat has nothing to gain from this which makes me circle back to why. If he were an idiot he'd be like the others doing it more publicly instead of in the shadows. I just don't get it.

What kind of rinky dink con shoves two bums next to Vic and then gets salty when everyone is there to see Vic?

Vic being a bit of a dick has always had a ring of truth to it but you can't use that as a pivot point to him being a serial predator like these fucks keep trying to do.

I'll agree on taking some grains of that salt as well, although the Schemmel and Sabat comments remind me a lot of these two videos that were posted. They're almost in a way verbatim with what was described.
