For people unfamiliar with FFIX in particular, the game has a very lengthy tutorial section, wherein it introduces mechanics and walks the player through them, almost one at a time, throughout the first few hours of the story. It doesn't hit its stride for quite a while (which is by no means a bad thing). Phil shouldn't have struggled at any point during his premiere stream. There can be a great deal of grinding involved later in the game, particularly if one doesn't know tricks as to where/when to do it to shorten the time needed for it, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Even if some autist drops ten bucks to cheer instructions at him Phil seems especially pig-headed when it comes to JRPGs, even more so with those that supposedly ought to be in his wheelhouse. If he's not sober enough to consult a guide during his downtime he'll be killing trash mobs for hours for single-digit AP while lean-in manualling every sperg screaming in chat about how much he's doing it wrong.I know FF7 and FF9 in their modern re-masters have some ridiculous options. I heard in the 7 one there's a basically press X to win option, you can just basically make yourself super powered to cheese any particular fight, I'd imagine all the comparable remakes have the same options. I guess it's nice if you...just wanted achievements or something?
Ijustre-played FFIX about a year or two ago. Tapped out when he said he had to grind for a boss. Not sure which boss this would be in story order but you rarely if ever have to grind in the main story of Final Fantasy games, let alone in the first few hours. To be honest he's probably gonna neglect how AP and abilities work vis a vis gear in the game and end up having to grind a ton of AP later on which even with the speedy mode on will be a grind.

I don't watch more than a minute or two at a time, but he consistently does 1 of a few things: 1) sits in silence looking at the game and then chat/streamlabs, speaking only to respond to money; 2) gets baited into an extended rant about (insert topic); 3) sees chat talking about literally anything but him and gets pissy, demands that people "interact" with him, and then does absolutely nothing to start a conversation.
The only time he's more lively is when money is chucked at him. Then he's more likely to go full clown-nose and act exactly like Pewdiepie circa 2012-2013, complete with over-the-top reactions and "random" noises.
Some people just want to play the story and don't care about battles. To be fair, every game from VI to IX is too easy and for the many that grew up with those games, I get why they'd rather skip battles.I know FF7 and FF9 in their modern re-masters have some ridiculous options. Honestly those people could just watch a Let's Play or condensed "movie" version of the game on YouTube. Some people just want to play the story and don't care about battles. DSP has made me hate the term "behind the scenes." I just get pissed off when I hear these words now.
I don't see how anyone can tolerate the unbearable tedium of Philip playing a JRPG. He text to speeches the dialogue if it isn't voiced with his zero talent mush mouth slurring words. Whenever he encounters the slightest obstacle he just grinds levels so he can face tank with no thought. They are slow games even when played competantly so when he ruins one he just pauses and "interacts" with chat who hold his hand. Even restreams don't help this drizzling shit.
I'm tapping out after he game over'd on the Trance tutorial fight & the 1st boss while complaining it's "unfair" despite the fact you can kill it in one round with a level 1 party.

Fuck you give me money, eat this pig slop.A viewer asked:
"Hi Phil, if we reach the 560 sub goal, what is this Viewer's Choice event going to look like?"

Seriously, DSP's subs, go join a Findom site. At least you might get to see some tits. Or better yet, just burn your money. At least that provides warmth.

Or, you know, buy their children toys. Or make sure they have a nest egg in case the costs for their medications go up. That's what really kills me; his pignosis is so strong that he can apparently override even the survival instinct in his fans. I've always personally doubted the preponderance of physical and mental disabilities in his active supporters; I don't doubt that some of them have difficulties but for it to be as widespread as it is it smacks more of a meme or a deflection tactic. There's nowt so queer as etc., etc. but I've never known a disabled person to be so gullible as to so regularly sign over some of their income to so blatant a con-man. You'd think it'd be harder for someone who broadcasts so much of his life and his ire to scam so many, but here we are, I suppose. It's actually this that pisses me off the most. They could use the money to help families that struggle, give it to organizations that help kids, shit give it for cancer research. Nah fam, let's give it to a 37 year old loser, who has 2 homes and around 100k$ of yearly income. Money well spent.
just wanted to throw this out: the rerelease for steam/ps4 includes 3 cheat buttons;
- 3x speed, included for the sake of grinding or catching back up to a spot if you game over'd
- no encounters, included so you can take a brisk walk to/from a save point if you needed to
- all gauges full, included so you could mop the floor with any fight. it essentially gives you max HP, MP, and LB every turn.
FF7 doesnt need these cheats, the devs just wanted to pander to casuals. from what i remember, FF9 has the exact same cheats included for the same reasons.
if dsp has to resort to the cheats to finish the game, its because hes absolute trash and/or wants to finish the game asap because he hates it
With that being said, I'm gonna make a prediction. Phil will have at least 2 of his leading characters have a level that is a multiple of 5; at which he will sperg the fuck out against the Deathguise boss.
Rather curious on how trancing is an I Win button for Ozma... oh. Let me guess; they got rid of him reacting to you clicking or moving to moves in your menu too didn't they.
Because that was the big reason Ozma was a pain in the balls; he could react and basically give himself turns based on your actions and was damn fast already. Getting rid of that alone makes him stupidly easier since you then only have to worry about Doomsday or Holy and whatever else he does on his turn only.
