I hope they deliver and sells alot

Month late to the party but:
According to one Youtuber, the outrage over Doom Eternal is fake and tries to play up the tism from the other side. Not much else to say other than just rolling my eyes at it all since it's not gonna excuse the sperging idiocy of people that thought the mortally challenged bit meant courting the alt-right.

its 'happening' until whats his face decides he doesnt want that in gzdoom
True to that. This is the same sort of person that wants stuff like Vulkan API and using telemetry to know what your pc is made of.

wait what, I thought they would have loved that "yay, inclusive language, see we are making changes in the industry"

is this "heaven" or "ultra hell"??

I would have to guess that's an area within a starship that the demons use, probably what the BFG-10000 in the Phobos gameplay trailer was firing at. If it is heaven though, it'll be interesting to see how ID does it.

I swear to God, if Christoph Oelckers pulls the plug on the Client/Server online feature, then he's getting a fucking thread that's been long overdue.

Yeah lol I've seen this, Shaun's trying to make it seem like "Oh lol look at those conservitards trying to make up outrage again"

While I can get the idea of one side trying to make up outrage, Shaun's being ignorant or disingenuous of the other side creating their own outrage in getting upset over mortally challenged. Since it's only half a year away from being a year old, one can only wonder how long before the soon to be released Doom Eternal gets some spergs tweeting or making articles in hoping the devs don't end up being "ableist" because of a line meant to be a subtle jab towards corporate lingo.

I only have have 2 big complaints with Doom 5: the HUD is ugly

and whenever Slayer takes damage he sounds like he’s cumming

Some new footage courtesy of E3.

First the story trailer.

Apparently heaven now exists in Doom and they're threatening the Doom Slayer if he doesn't stand down. This could be interesting since heaven literally never appeared before. Eternal really wants to expand the Doom universe, and more power to them I say. As much as I love Doom, the series never really evolved past "demons invade the UAC Mars base, fight your way out." The only games that don't follow that are Doom II and Final Doom. It's nice to see something completely new after, what, 23 years?

Next is some fresh gameplay.

Some observations:

-The opening segment is done from a third-person perspective, showing Doom Slayer getting out of his pod. I don't know if this is indicative of the final product, but if so it seems the game might be opting for more traditional cutscenes.

-Doom Slayer now grunts when he's hurt. I like this because it gives more of an audio cue that you're taking damage, something Doom 2016 didn't really have.

-Killing enemies that are set on fire with your flamethrower yield armor pickups.

-Doom Slayer's pod has VEGA's voice, following up on him saving a copy of VEGA before erasing the main computer.

-The scope on the machine gun now serves as a traditional sniper rifle.

-The mancubus fires much faster.

-Acid pools are back, as are rad suits.

Heaven? We’re turning into Doomanetta now niggas

Quite a bit of the concept art had gold and white environments that were significantly different to the hell areas we'd seen. Makes sense all of a sudden.

Slayer just wanting every demon dead regardless of who gets in the fucking way, rather than an inherently righteous force, is metal as fuck.

I know I just said that I like that Doom Eternal is creating an entirely original universe for Doom, but one thing I do like is how the returning enemies in this new one more closely resemble their classic appearances. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that we hadn't seen those enemies like that since Final Doom, and that was on the Doom engine. Every new game since then, including Doom 64 and Doom 3, all featured redesigns and new interpretations, so it's cool to see those original sprites turned into high definition 3D so gracefully. The Cyberdemon and Mancubus look especially cool.

Him being only concerned with demon slaying was kinda hinted in the last game, where it’s sorta implied that some of your actions (i.e. Argent theft) could result in human deaths

Given the last game implied he had divine sanction, it only makes sense they'd want to slap him down for exceeding his divine mandate, which apparently involves not killing humans except in cases of unarguable self defense.

Since we known the DS has an insane zeal for demon killing and such can blind him to reason, and since his holy overlords are apparently watching, makes sense they'd get a little annoyed if he took his demon killing license and stepped outside it's bounds.
