Why do furries exist?

i thought that originally furries were people who made animal persona costumes and attended such meetings but i could be wrong. but what does it take to be a furry nowadays?

fucking animals?
dressing as animal persona?
being completely desensitized to normal porn and jacking off to some drawn furry porn or other crazy shit eventually leading to bestiality?

but i wonder how cosplaying animal persona is any different from cosplaying some anime one because to me it's the same shit. so are all cosplayers furries?

i can't even keep up due to how fast our society is going down the shitter.
 
Furries exist for the same reason footfags exist: Some wires got crossed in the ol' brainpan and suddenly you can't stop jacking it to animals-- humanoid or otherwise.

though that's not the entire reason. A good portion of it is related to apathy, I feel. Especially in our modern era where people are more and more often going "whatever bro" and tugging their wingdangdoodle to whatever even gives them a slight stiffy. Of course, it's a slippery slope, and you can really get off to anything if you try hard enough. Keep going, suddenly it's not enough, you start seeking more extreme shit... Lack of self control, amongst other things. Get that dopamine rush.

Is finding a cartoon animal to be sexually attractive enough to designate one a furry? If so I got one Animaniacs short that can make any man wanna yiff.


Obviously the answer is no. I wouldn't even consider people who have for whatever reason fapped to furry porn to neccesarily be furs, just weird.

No a full blown furry is someone who participates and roleplays as a furry, using a fursona or at least adopting parts of the bizarre BDSM culture.

I think it's a nerd creation made by sexually repressed people. Hence why most furries are gay men, because gay men are the ones who most desire that shit. I see little difference between a Leather Daddy and a Fox suit.

The cosplay I know of doesn't tend to have such a sexual obsession.

Minerva Mink was considered so outrageously provocative that she pretty much only got 2-3 shorts in the series' original run before parental figures REEEEd hard enough to get Spielberg to effectively can her as a character. I'm guessing she might be responsible for a lot of "wtf funny animals make my peepee hard" incidents, though, yeah.

I don't think bronies respect anything that isn't a pastel color and made to sell toys

I wonder if bronies would have existed if the My Little Ponies didn't have anime eyes.

The series ran for 3 generations prior with little attention from males.

The main reason it became popular is because it got a cartoony overhaul rather than using the more realistic horse anatomy.

Other people have brought up some good historical examples but I haven't seen any mention of roman Velites yet.

According to the one furry I know, because his mom was a drunk who slapped him and his escapism was MLP, Digimon, and Thundercats.
But he's the least furry furry I can think of. No suit, no yiff, no nothing. Just thinks that anthropomorphic characters are more fun to draw than regular people.
I don't even know if he counts.

That actually make more sense than you'd think. Disillusionment with human beings + fascination with anthros who don't display the same hideous traits humans seem to (because who creates a furry child abuser character, really? BESIDES THE ONES WHO LIKE CUB.)

As you can tell by how friendly I’ve been with Narpassword, I don’t care about furfags as long as they aren’t hurting innocents and hell, I’ll admit that 12yo me was “intrigued” by Rouge the Bat’s jiggle physics. But the zoophiles, pedos, rapists, etc all deserve to have their skulls run over like Yoshikage Kira

Makes even MORE sense, honestly, as I've never seen a heavily autistic person who was able to really connect positively with many other human beings. It makes sense that he would fixate on somewhat idealized and obviously nonhuman characters as a way to find something to "connect" to. At least, that's my guess.
