Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

Casey in this latest chain of emails between him and Ty has repeatedly stated that Kiwifarms wants to harass the victims and scare them into not telling their stories.
I really don't think this is the case, but can we have a poll to find out for sure, and show publicly which way the farms leans? Make it so that votes are visible, just in case a bunch of new accounts with no posts decide to vote for the option that makes Kiwi Farms look bad.
Title: In relation to the upcoming deposition of Vic's alleged victims, which would you rather be the case?
Questions:
  • The alleged victims identities are forever unknown to Kiwifarms, their stories are told, and we get to hear the stories.
  • The alleged victims identities are known, their stories are never told, and as a result we never get to hear the stories.
This isn't meant to be a comprehensive list where we get to pick our ideal, this is to show whether The Farms cares more about hearing the alleged victims stories, or knowing their identities. If you have suggestions for improving this say so, and if anyone with the power decides to go ahead with this they can figure it out. I'm going to bed.
The names are particularly interesting. The way Casey is trying to obfuscate them, especially names that are already a matter of public record: these are probably going to be names we know.

And if that's true, we either already have the stories or can easily guess their value to the case.

Two of the names are likely Damian and Sarah. Both were probably involved in whatever went down with Funimation and both are very close to MoRon. I also wouldn't be surprised if Samantha comes back into this and I can see her definitely refusing to play along anymore without any form of confidentiality considering that she's been in hiding since that ridiculous swatting story.

We already have a rule not to conspire/interfere with the people involved in the whole KickVic saga, so the whole schtick of "Kiwi Farms harrasses and intimidates victims!" is just ludicrous.

We just want to find out the truth of what really happened that has created the whole rift between the American anime industry. Most of the KF users here have followed this for the past 5 months and has documented each and every action that the people had publicly taken.

This all ties back into a single stupid concept: "words are violence".

These people think getting mocked on social media is a form of attack, assault, harassment, and oppression that is equal to literal punches in the face. If a bunch of randos comment on your tweet and disagree with it, you are "attacked by hate mobs" and they want the same sympathy and protections we give to victims of mob violence in the streets. If you question a person's story, you're re-traumatizing them. If your mentions are flooded with ridicule, they're trying to kill you (virtually, but isn't it the same as real life, really?)

I don't like doxing; but I also don't like taking anything on the Internet seriously. So if you're going to turn your Internet postings into Serious Business, and you want everyone else to treat them Seriously, then you're obliged to back up your claims with your person, just like in real life. Wielding the potential power to ruin a person's life is inextricably linked with exposing yourself to the same risk. The courts are designed this way for a reason; we learned hard lessons about the abuses of anonymity for 800 years before US laws were written as a response.

To give the potential witnesses the benefit of the doubt, I think it's very likely that ArmzGurl, Soye, and Rial took a handful of women who were not willing to make serious public accusations, and referenced their stories ("over 100 women!") without their permission for defamation. I have legit sympathy for those cases... but then they should also be the ones who aren't willing to testify on the record and don't need protection. MoRonica and Casey have insisted, in writing and on the record, that they have witnesses who are eager to come forward and be public. Very well; then be public, and enjoy the same public protections Vic himself has.

What can a lawyer do when their client refuses to heed advice and just does their own thing, using their lawyer as a tool of getting their stupid PULL links and other such stuff into law documents?

Tell his idiot clients he's filing a motion to withdraw and hang them out to dry if they don't knock it the fuck off immediately.

Now he’s talking about Nick getting deposed. Dude is straight up writing legal fan fiction at this point.

Hey, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they tried exactly that.

I doubt the outcome would be any better than you'd think, and honestly, the absolute worst thing the defense could do would be to have Nick Rekieta as an actual witness, considering his general persuasive abilities. I think anyone listening to Nick for hours on the subject of this case would ultimately come around to his view of it, perhaps even his interlocutors in the deposition, but certainly, an impartial jury.

I honestly hope they bring that shit. Perhaps these priggish blue haired puritans will be offended by the fact he says "fuck" occasionally, but a jury? A jury is probably thinking exactly the profane things Nick actually says.

I'd say bring it. Do that. Go right the fuck ahead. Hug that tar baby. Hug it hard.

Very well; then be public, and enjoy the same public protections Vic himself has.

Note how these vile creatures view being treated exactly as Vic has been treated as a horrible atrocity.

Maybe they shouldn't have treated Vic that way if they don't want that treatment themselves.

I've only vaguely followed this at a distance as I am more interested in the final outcome than the actual ongoing but I find the assertion that KF purposely harasses anyone to be a strawman (?) argument.

I am reminded of a phrase attributed to Harry S Truman, sometimes called "Give 'em Hell Harry." Asked about that name, HST said: "I don't give them Hell. I just tell the truth about them, and they think it's Hell."

Exactly my thoughts. KF is good at finding conflicting information on social media....and we do it for free so perhaps Vic can save his war chest for more important matters. Maybe that's why they're upset. PULL, Shame, and the souper lolyers are basically will-nots. Plus they're always 2 weeks behind....after Nick has said it on his stream....and we have dissected it and moved on.

2 weeks? More like 2 months. PULL hasn't evolved at all during this whole conflict. Every KickVic person we've observed has no clue on how the related Texas Laws work. They're only programmed to spin a narrative, no matter how old or outdated the information is. Ffs, it's 2019 and these idiots are still running around calling people Nazis.

Has anyone from PULL figured out that Nick isn't Vic's lawyer yet? Or are they still churning on that bit of knowledge?

I see Brian's adding sexism to his stupidity now.
How to call ALL them bitches fat and get away with it: the graphic novel.

I wish Nick got deposed. Reading 6 hours of 'yes, I've called him a cuck', 'yes, I've called her fat', 'no, I am not employed by Vic or BHBH', 'Yes, I do hope that Vic wins the case and am biased in his favour' would be a fucking riot. What would they do to him aside from asking easily dismissed questions on agency and employment - did he laugh at armzgurl swastika hands? Did he call everyone on the other side of the fence a dummy? Fuck yes he did, made bank doing it, and will do it again reading the transcript of his own deposition.

I chuckled more than I probably should have at that one.

Whoa, it's almost like that's why the interrogatories specifically request information on the dates, locations, and names of all incidents alleged to have occurred. It's almost like you can't say "Vic is a sexual predator and has a history of sexual assault with over 100 women" and then call that opinion. These people are so incredibly far behind in the law portion of this, and it's really pretty unsurprising given their hatred of Nick. They pretend like everything that comes out of his mouth is just biased nonsense.

The irony of PenguinFag calling someone a simpleton is just :story:

I'm pretty sure that at this point you are a professional curator of autistic content. Thank you for keeping us updated on the twitter spergery so we don't suffer infection.

They're so behind that they talked about Nick and Duck Dynasty's little non-spat months after it was over.

OK, months after it happened. But still.

I'm not sure that it's over.
Nick has yet to update on whether or not he intends to actually get the "Fear The Beard" copyright from Duck Commander.
Hopefully, he'll let us know soon.

Didn't he say he was still planning to but due to some costs he was waiting a bit?

Don't think he wants to take it, just cancel it. It was in use long before they started using it and honestly i don't think "fear" comes to mind when you think of duck dynasty.
