[Interest Check] Fallout-esque Kitchen Sink Post-Post Apocalyptic Tabletop RPG Forum Game Long Title

Just Mel Gibson. He doesn't have to explain himself to the likes of the rest of the party.
mel-gibson-20061019-169935.jpg

He don't take no flak from anybody.

Magic in this setting is really powerful and dangerous. You could be a psychic necromancer who animates the dead like puppets, or a true magic necromancer who pulls some serious Pet Semetary-style shit.
Ohh, I'll go for some Pet Semetary-esque magic-ness if that's okay.

Sounds perfect. You just need to play a Corgi, spend 5 of your weird points on enough Sorcery skill to muck about with the fundamental laws of life and death. That still leaves you another 5 points left for super high tech equipment or a super mutation or psychic powers or something. Or cyberware.

I will be the Lord Spiritual of Rawlestown.

I like this.

I'm thinking of either a Neo-Pagan Roman tribal or an insane psychic wereboar who's convinced that the Second Dark Age was caused by camels.

You could be a Neo-Pagan Roman tribal wereboar. I don't think the camels thing is a strong delusion just because it's hard to come up with a relevant "game of the scene" that incorporates the information. Unless there's some aspect of the camel thing I'm missing.

Maybe he hates camels, and blames them for bad things that happen to him like Chris with... well lots of people. You know what I mean.

"Pirates beat us to the treasure? Well played, camel."

Edit: Maybe instead of camels, he hates Visigoths.

I spent 6 weird points on equipment so I should get all the equipment I want without having to add each point up like a goddamn war-starting shekel-hoarding Jew, if that's okay with you Sugartits?

BIOGRAPHY
Mel Colm-Cille Gerard Gibson AO (born January 3, 1956) is an American actor, filmmaker, and screenwriter. He is most well known as an action hero, for roles such as Martin Riggs in the Lethal Weapon buddy cop film series and Max Rockatansky in the first three post-apocalyptic action films in the Mad Max series.

He was born in Peekskill, New York, and moved with his parents to Sydney when he was 12 years old. He studied acting at the Australian National Institute of Dramatic Art. During the 1980s, Gibson founded Icon Entertainment, a production company which independent film director Atom Egoyan has called, "an alternative to the studio system."[2] Director Peter Weir cast Gibson as one of the leads in the critically acclaimed World War I drama Gallipoli (1981), which earned Gibson a Best Actor Award from the Australian Film Institute.[3] The film also helped to earn Gibson the reputation of a serious, versatile actor.

In 1995, Gibson produced, directed, and starred in the epic historical drama film Braveheart, for which he won the Golden Globe and Academy Award for Best Director, along with the Academy Award for Best Picture. In 2004, he directed and produced The Passion of the Christ, a financially successful, controversial film depicting the last hours in the life of Jesus. Gibson received further critical acclaim for his directing of the 2006 action-adventure film Apocalypto, [4] which is set in Mesoamerica during the early 16th century.

Okay, I'm interested. What exactly is the technology setting, like, Fallout level with guns, Mad Max cars, and robots, or medieval, with swords and axes? Or both?
Also, location. A specific area of the world (Parts of North America), a fantasy world, or a non-specific area.

I have an idea for a character.
Jugsy-EZ, of the Jugsy tribe of the Juggalos. Yes, the Juggalos have survived the apocalypse, and formed a religion around ICP.

Excellent backstory.

You and I both know your answer to this question, but I would be remiss if I did not point something out: the Deerhunter Rifle is a more high-tech hillbilly style gun that you can easily afford with all the WP you spent on money, if you want that instead of a blunderbuss. It would better facilitate killing heathens in tanks or power armor. I do actually really like your stats for the sawed-off blunderbuss though.

Okay, I'm interested. What exactly is the technology setting, like, Fallout level with guns, Mad Max cars, and robots, or medieval, with swords and axes? Or both?

It depends on the tribe. High-end power armor, supergun-style technology can sometimes be scavenged from the ruins but it's rare (for normal folks, not for PCs). Power armor is usually passed down through generations or held in collective by a tribe, and ownership of a suit is the effective equivalent of knighthood. Flinklock weapons are the most advanced things that are being manufactured new, although there's all kinds of magic conjurings and gremlin gunsmiths breaking all those rules too. Then there's tribes that deliberately eschew old technology. Plus during the fall a bunch of crazy imaginary technology became real and some of it stuck around.

There's everything from people in mecha saving a city-state from godzilla to two tribes fighting a war with clubs over one pig.

So, basically, all of those things. I sometimes liken it to the Hyborean Age from Conan but built on the ruins of humanity's collective imaginations rather than Atlantis.

Also, location. A specific area of the world (Parts of North America), a fantasy world, or a non-specific area.

I PMed you the book, there's a "Tribes of the Inner Sea" section which Dynastia has already grounded Mel Gibson in, so it will be taking place there.

I have an idea for a character.

Absolutely. A Juggalo remnant tribe is very doable. Sort of Six-String Samurai meets failure.

Do you have Juggalo magic? Or pimped out dark clown themed power armor? Or maybe you've got weird mutations because fucking radiation, how does that work?

I'll take it as well as the sawed-off, but only if I can modify it (D etched out and replaced with Q, no stat changes). Just one clip of ammo for it, thanks. Empty.

Mel Gibson is currently taking a sabbatical from his office as Lord Spiritual of Rawlestown and travelling the world in order to make a full-length motion picture illustrating just what repugnant, warmongering and pack-rapingy savages all the foreign heathens are. So don't let me affect your choice of setting.

"The Fucking Magnets". Imagine a concrete saw, only it has several powerful electromagnets contained in a three pronged blade. When activated, a ferrofluid based liquid metal (strengthened through some magtek) forms a sawblade, which is reinforced by the three solid "Prong Blades".
A Buick Regal, heavily restored and modified into a four wheel drive off roader. Has the remains of an ugly grey paint job, covered in rust, blood, bullet holes, and Juggalo art. Oh, and severed heads attached to the front bumper.
Sports equipment armor, decorated with the traditional outfit of the juggalos.
"Clown Shooturh", a crude 9mm semi-auto pistol made from the remains of a Glock 18 and scrap metal. Basically a Flintlock pistol with a 5 payload, only with a penalty to damage and prone to misfiring. Uses cartridge ammo, which is more expensive than ball and powder (3 bucks per shot). Note: I'm contradicting the game book here, let me know if it's all right)
Backpack
A few days of food and water
10 units of Faygo (the traditional drink of the Juggalo tribe. Made from whatever fermentable material's lying around and the blood of those sacrificed to the Dark Carnival).
BIOGRAPHY
Located outside of Detroit, the Juggalos are considered odd by the other crazed raider tribes, and batshit insane to everyone else. Worshiping the prophets/deities they call Violent J, Shaggy 2 Dope, and The Hatchet Man, the Juggalos follow a "Holy Book" pieced together from old music records. They base themselves out of the "Dark Carnival", a Pre-Fall amusement park that they power off the the Dark Energy reactors of several gutted suits of Power Armor. Juggalo society is chaotic, with most of the day spend scavenging, listening to the Holy Records, getting wasted, working, getting high, and fighting. One of the key elements of Juggalo religion is the Dark Carnival itself, which the Juggalos believe requires human sacrifice. As such, the Juggalos frequently go out into the wastes to acquire sacrifices, specifically targeting slavers, rapists, raiders, and others they deem "motherfukas". ferocious in combat, Juggalos usually attempt to take their victims alive, so they can sacrifice them with carnival themed torture equipment. Juggalos believe that those who acquire a large number of sacrifices or contribute to the ways of the Juggalo will be sent to "The Gathering", a warriors heaven filled with Faygo, meth, and the Holy Posse.
Some Juggalos, such as Juggy-T, set out by themselves to explore the wastes, search for more of The Teachings, and slaughter the Motherfuckas.

Juggy-T is a 22 year old Juggalo who's set out into the wastes to acquire sacrifices, dispense good and justice and Faygo, and try a variety of exotic drugs.

Did you spend all your weird points for this guy?

I'm not sure. Does the chainsword re-skin and the pistol count towards weird points?
If not, can I take a mutation that makes me immune to addiction?

You can use weird points to buy extra starting cash but even with the chainsword you'd have a bunch left. Maybe some Juggalo power armor?

There is no addiction super mutation, that's kind of a weak ability for one.

D4NK80T was originally a pre-dark age advanced sound system and butler for an eccentric rapper by the name of "Adam Stackhouse." Due to the oddity of his master, "Dank bot" was fitted with an emotion chip and hidden blades to function as a butler/bodyguard for the rapper. However, due to all the years he has spent in storage, several parts of his motherboard have decayed. Leaving the robot partially insane and not caring for much other than being loud and killing people. Since he was originally designed for service, he will faithfully serve whoever he believes to be his master, though they often meet an unfortunate end.

WEIRD POWERS

Psychic Zombie (S): Willpower + telekinesis
This power is used to telekinetically animate a dead body, using the brain-stem to create a semi-autonomous minion which can follow commands of up to three words.

Project Thoughts (S): Telepathy + Willpower
This power is used to telepathically communicate with other individuals by projecting one’s thoughts into the target’s mind, allowing them to hear the message as though it was part of their own inner monologue.

SPELLS

Life and Death

True Resurrection: Restore a being back to life, provided that the subject’s soul must be free and willing to return. Upon completion of the spell, the creature is immediately restored to full health. Only those who have died of old age cannot be resurrected.

Absolute Death: A being killed by the Absolute Death spell has their soul erased, and they cannot be brought back to life or communicated with, even through spells or powers.

Death from Afar: This spell allows the caster to wish someone dead. This spell only works so long as the caster has met the target. No barrier of matter or distance can protect the target.

BIOGRAPHY

A seemingly ordinary Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Nox is a curious creature, with a pelt white as snow and eyes a brown so dark they’re almost black. No-one is too sure about her origins. She leads a nomadic lifestyle, wandering by herself, occasionally mooching off of those willing to provide her food and a home, though the Borgs of the Great Hedge are the lands she is often spotted. Nox had found herself calling the outskirts of the Seeds of Yggdrasil tribe her territory, living off of the scraps she managed to snag from unsuspecting the Neo-Pagan tribe, all the while observing their curious culture from afar as they perk interest her.

With no noticeable strange mutations or deformities on her stumpy body, dark powers lie within. This little creature bears the powers of life and death. Such powers are used sparingly, but she is never afraid to use them when need be. As for communication, Nox speaks through telepathy, speaking into the minds of others when she wishes to voice her opinion.

Nox herself cannot explain how she became a magical being, but such power pleases her and she can’t help but to feel elevated by it.

Indicted for participation in genocide, the accused was sentenced on 23 May 1997, to 5 years' imprisonment for complicity in 14 cases of murder and 1 case of attempted murder.

The Court could not establish with sufficient certainty the existence of the subjective element required for the act of genocide (that is, the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, the group in question).

As long as it could not be ruled out that Djajic considered the executions as a means – however illegal and reprehensible – to discourage Muslims from carrying out further attacks on Serbian military units, it had to be assumed in his favour that he did not understand the intention behind this action, which was the extermination of the Muslims.

The Court based its competence to judge a non-national for acts committed abroad on Art. 6, No. 9, and Art. 7, subsection 2, No. 2, of the German Penal Code. Art. 6, No. 9, extends the jurisdiction of German courts to acts committed abroad by non-nationals if this is provided for in an international treaty binding upon Germany. At this stage, the Court referred to the Fourth Geneva Convention (protection of civilians) and its provisions establishing the grave breaches regime. The Court considered the conflict still to be an international one in June 1992 (with a reference to GCIV Art. 2 and a comment on the question of the termination of an international armed conflict) and qualified the victims as "protected persons" in the sense of GCIV, Art. 4. The jurisdiction of the Court could also be established by application of the principle of vicarious administration of justice (Art. 7, subsection 2, No. 2).

The question as to whether there was a sufficient link with Germany was then examined to ensure that the basic principle of non-intervention would not be infringed. This link could be established as the accused was domiciled in Germany and as this State was not acting in its own interests, but was in fact representing the whole community of States.

The Court found that the accused had not received an express order to act as he did. That being the case, it was not possible to rely on Art. 5 (1) of the Military Penal Law (WStG) (acts committed under order) to relieve the accused of liability. However, the Court accepted the fact that the accused may have perceived himself as acting under duress, a fact which was applied in mitigation of penalty.

If there is room, I am in. Nice to see I am not the only one here spergy enough to try and write his own system.

Dankbot looks good.

Nox continues to be great, approved already via PM.

@six.four.systems: don't remember sending you the pt doc, doing so now. Same with @Surtur. Six four will have to make a character using the rules and not reverse engineered from the other characters, impressive though that may be.

Sending PMs now.
