I mean, there's a lot of conflict between those who want a gaming depiction of 'The Witcher' and a novel depiction of it. Both of them clash pretty fucking hard. I mean,
Andrzej Sapkowski wrote Geralt dying by pitchfork and Yennefer dying by healing and then being resurrected on the fucking Isle of Avalon with Ciri
literally fucking off into the sunset with Sir Galahad from the Knights of the Round Table. TO GO TO CAMELOT. I mean, shit gets fucking weird.
Obviously, I prefer the game version. But vidya doesn't need adaptions, because I can, you know, just play it.
ALSO you guys are forgetting one element with casting: Netflix corporate. The writers might have made them all white or mostly white, but someone from up on high might have said 'You can't do your show with all/mostly white characters. Figure it out.' So they had to change some of them. We don't know what internal politics might have been involved, since Netflix has paid for more 'woke' shows than not. Which is why it lost 17 billion fucking dollars in a day.
No idea what the fuck is going on with that Nilfgaardian armor though. Their costume designer should be shot.
I don't actually believe the 4chan post. It plays WAY too much into exactly what people who hate SJWs want to hear. Do you really think the showrunner who wrote the Punisher episodes in the beginning of Daredevil Season 2 REALLY made them literal dickheads? That's just too much.
My guess is that they wanted Nilfgaard to be visually distinct from the North and have an intimidating presence but MASSIVELY fucked up. Never attribute to malice what you can attribute to a terrible costume designer.
"I mean, the drawing looks ok, are you sure this will be good?"
"Of course!"
*Makes Scrotum armor*
"This is just a prototype right? I mean, we can go back to the drawing board. We're still in pre-production."
"Oh, I already made 500 of them."
"....fuck my life."
It's restrained compared to almost every writing team in the business. You act like them all being raging lefties is new. If we went by tweets then HBO's Chernobyl is just a giant metaphor for DRUMPH's refusal to acknowledge global warming
Yeah, you clearly can't go by what a writer says on Twitter. Its rare these days, but a lot of these can separate out their message from their work. Chernobyl was not and is not a metaphor for Trump in any way.
My thoughts are 50/50 on the trailer.
