Worth noting that just because a particular region pays less does not mean you are losing out. Everyone forgets this critical rule. If your average yearly salary is 80,000 dollars in city A and 60,000 dollars in city B then clearly working in city A is better right? But what if I told you average monthly rent and utilities in city A is 3,000 dollars while in city B it is 1,000 dollars. That is a 24,000 dollar yearly difference meaning that on aggregate working in city B leaves you with 4,000 MORE dollars then working in City A, even though city A pays 20,000 dollars more.
