Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

As someone who watched the GamerGate Wikipedia article as it formed... give up. Wikipedia has some lefty turbo speds who will apply every rule that exists and a few that don't to prevent you from editing the article, while they ignore every rule they don't want to pay attention to. And since they don't have jobs or lives, they can camp it 24x7.

Every so often I still get to see a neat piece of vandalism before the cabal strikes it. Wanted to share an archived copy of the 19th Amendment wiki article edited to say, "also called The Great Mistake," but can't find it.

Are we archiving Nick falling for parodies now?

Call it autism or wmg however:

I pulled the announcement tweet from Funi. The email 2/8 referenced Sony saying don't talk, right?

If Sony was handling the investigation, which is what I'm assuming in the Funi response, they were likely the ones who said not to talk to her.

When did Vic get the termination notice? If it was 2/8 then I'll take the L. But if it was 2/11 I can see Sony say that.
I was thinking that, and I admit I don't know the exact timeline, but I saw things noting that he'd been removed from at least some of his roles a few days before 2/8. So it's possible he hadn't been "officially" fired before 2/8, but was on his way. I agree that if he hadn't been officially terminated then it could've been a "last straw" kind of thing, but I'm not sure why they publicly announce recasting him if they hadn't already cut ties. Also, this thread started on 2/6

That ANN article seems to just be regurgitating ManJaw's pieced-together shoddy affidavit.

It's bizarre that they don't mention John Prager at all. He submitted an affidavit too and his account of the stalking incident is more credible than hers. He at least claims that he was present when it happened while Lynn was over in Japan.

Unless you like being reversed on appeal, you have to present your opinions in writing and they have to address what was actually filed. So in reality no, the judge actually does have to read this. Their clerks have to read this. The clerk of courts has to deal with the voluminous documents and docket everything. A bunch of support personnel has to spend time on it.

The judge has a slightly easier time of it if both sides aren't complete idiots, because they can more or less adopt the reasoning of the side that's right, but they still have to analyze it, they still have to research it, they still have to Shepardize all the citations in every dumbass string cite, they still have to compare the factual allegations in the pleading to what is cited in the exhibits, and if the exhibits are trash, or you have to hold them sideways and squint like that absolute fucking garbage LemWAAAAH filed, it still takes up time. Lots of time.

You have argued that the formatting could get this at least sanctioned. Would they be able to appeal on the issue of formatting? Basically "I threw it out because it didn't rise to our standards."

It would be a dumb reason to lose a case, but I am guessing a higher court with all their support staff reading the TCPA motions would be even angrier than Chupp for wasting their time.

I defer to you though.

ann is the cnn of anime

"Hey Mari, nice to see you again! We don't see each other much after we dubbed Macross together. Just wanted to ask if you'd like to do a duet during your show, I'm somewhat of a singer myself. You don't really leave your hotel or answer your phone so I thought I'd come and see you." -Most likely what Vic's "stalking" was like.
Or maybe he was trying to eat some rice, they don't mention anything sexual about the stalking, just that he found out her hotel room and phone number which isn't a difficult thing to do. You can bet they would say he wanted to rape her if this story was as true as they want it to be.

It's bizarre that they don't mention John Prager at all. He submitted an affidavit too and his account of the stalking incident is more credible than hers. He at least claims that he was present when it happened while Lynn was over in Japan.

They're pulling a ManJaw and trying to present the Grand Unified Narrative, both years at once, and hope no one is autistic enough to catch the hand-waving. So the one dumb affidavit is enough.

To be fair, citing a CEO is authoritative enough for lazy journalism. If you haven't been following the whole story and documenting Lynn's lies in real time, that is. It's impressive enough for the ANN audience, who won't go searching for the truth through 80+ pages of ManJaw's thread.

Ok, so someone please correct me if I'm going down a frivolous line of reasoning and the contrary has already been established, but if not, hear me out...

Do we even know if this macross panel ever happened?

Whenever specific details are described about panels I have always looked up a video of the panel in question to confirm its accuracy. Needless to say none of them have been even close to honest.
So I read that Ann article where the guy described telling Vic where to sit and I think "hey, that should be pretty easy to corroborate". So I look up tekkoshcon 2007 macross panel.... Nothing. Tekkoshcon 2007 mari iijima panel... Nothing. I tried various combinations including Vic's name, Maria name, both, I tried 2010 and the same. I even tried just looking up other conventions that they both went to on the off chance that they were mistaken about the location this macross panel took place. Nothing.

There were a metric ton of videos of Vic's other panels, and lots of blogs discussing Mari'a macross themed concert, but nothing on a macross panel they did together, which you would think was a popular (and ther for heavily filmed) panel.

Does anyone remember if Vic even confirmed that this panel took place in depositions?

I am open being wrong on this, but if I am, can someone post something showing that this panel actually happened?

Holy fuck, we need a TFS/DBZA debate thread.
No need, one side will be adamant it is Fair Use while the other side won't.
I mean they made Dr. Wheelo a good guy and wished him a new body, they wrote great backstory for 16, they even kept Nail and Kami as characters, a great decision IMO.
If there is a thread where we must go over all the transformations they have done with that work well.. it will surely be autistic

Now? I just cant wait to dunk on law twitter. Although it seems utterly fruitless, as they just move goalposts at the first sign of "oh shit"

lmao she we on full protect "let me guess, one of the *chans?" And she said yes?
KIWICHAN KAWAII DESU NE?

So far, outside of perhaps the ex-fiance, do we have any named individuals who have been declared to have had sex with Vic? That's what's rather remarkable in all these rabid claims of being a rapist etc. There is no actual sex anywhere. For all the sordidness of this entire mess nobody has seemingly been fucked on the record. Decades of rumors. "Everybody knows" and yet no actual documented sex. Makes you go Hmmm? does it not?

I think that's part of why they are stalling with bad legal motions. They are expecting some soap opera dues ex machina where a 16 year old walks into the court room proclaiming "I'm having Vic's live child!"

Apologies if this was brought up already, but remember Shane bringing up tortious interference with contract out of nowhere which ended up foreshadowing the case, unintentionally or not? Just realized mosquito man did a similar thing asking about consluts foreshadowing these twins. Maybe "con-teases" would be more appropriate if Nick's words hold true but it still works. Doesn't mean anything except it makes this even more like an anime, or any show really, where hints are planted for future events.

Yeh, I know they both went to thoughs conventions.
The question is about the specific panel and interaction at said panel.
I just find it very hard to beleive that there wasn't at least one person with a phone in a room with hundreds of hard core Vic/mari/macross fans, AAand none of thoughs people even mention anywhere on the internet that this all-star (by anime standards) event occured.

I don't recall seeing a statement from Gogal before ManJaw got un-suspended today and started dumping his borrowed notes on Twitter.

Iijima declined comment, which is interesting. I can't blame her for wanting to stay out of this shitshow, but if this clears TCPA and witnesses start being called, at least 1 side is going to get desperate to get her statement.

Is there anything or anyone to verify that these notes from Gogal are legitimate or were even from the time claimed? I find it hard to believe that manjaw is deranged enough to fake something like that, but after all of the other idiotic bullshit she's pulled, I honestly can't say I could completely dismiss the possibility either.

Nick has strongly hinted at Ty having some interesting depositions of his own. I think it's fair to say that at least one of those is a convention owner who was contacted by various parties in this case, or those who will be joining them in the future. It wouldn't surprise me if another was Iijima and unlike the other idiots' counsel Ty would have certainly reached out to her at the very least. I wouldn't be surprised if he mentioned that "journalists" might come knocking and that she could always decline to comment on any stories.

That's all speculation, but it's also obvious enough that a lawyer that actually cares for their client instead of seeing them as a source for billable hours should consider it. One could argue that if he has something like this, why not release it, but I think just showing Dahlin's affidavit is sufficient to show the accusations are baseless without giving everything away. I suspect that he's saving everything else until he has to file it in order to give the defendants the least amount of time to respond. Essentially tear everything they have to shreds and give them the least amount of time to salvage it.
