So, been lurking here for a bit, thought I'd give my two cents. When it comes to some of the oddities with her appearance. A lot of it seems to line up with body dysmorphic disorder. People who suffer from it tend to focus on imagined or real flaws in their appearance, pushing them to rarely leave the house and when they do they take drastic measures to hide it. They often can suffer from eating disorders, excessive plastic surgery, and heavy body modifications to "fix" these problems. She could be posting all of these pictures to seek reassurance that she is in fact attractive, especially if she did have a weight problem. Even the posing could fall under that if that's the only way she can find herself attractive. Since it falls under an OCD type of mentality which is under anxiety, it could explain some of it. Along with being heavily photoshopped of course.

As for these new developments well, I'm expecting one hell of a ride.

As a law student in their last year, this is completely faked. The lawfirm might be a real one, but this letter has NONE of the elements that is required of a cease and desist order.
One of which is that it can't be an email.... it has to be literally served, in person. Just like a lawsuit. (There are exceptions, but those get weird). The reason behind the "served, in person" is because it has to be notarized; and then there is literally no mention of the statutes or laws that (person) is breaking. Like, at the very least, it should say something like "Under Utah Century Code BlahBlah, you are breaking the laws of slander/libel/etc". And it doesn't. And, as far as I know, you can't give "certified mail" via email... I could be wrong, but we've only been taught that 'official' documents, delivered through mail or person, can be "certified mail".

I mean, you can "serve" a cease and desist to anyone you want to; but it's not legally binding or anything until it's gone through these processes. Add to the fact that sending a threatening cease and desist letter under false pretenses, or for malicious reasons, could even be a crime that exposes you to potential counter legal action. So there's that.

Probably obvious, but this was not written by a lawyer. Do we have an original scan on letter head? One of the most telling things is that it's not signed by an individual lawyer, also the awkward use of Peter's full name all the time. Additionally, there's the fact that the letter doesn't seem to match Utah law.

I have been following this thread and it really wierds me out how the tumblr of this woman goes slowly from believable blogging of a pretty, nerdy lady to this stiff, staged woman who posts pictures and gifs of herself that plunge into the uncanny valley.

I have the personal theory that it might be originally this blog was owned by a woman - possibly an ex, and it fell into the posession of Coffin after a breakup. The gender pronoun issue is a leftover from the template they used to make the letter. In the template, areas you have to fill in are marked with brackets, but the pronouns are not pointed out to the user and set to female by default. It's just a lack of proof reading by whoever wrote it.

If I had to guess on a motive, I'd assume that Peter (and Ashleigh, if she's real) just doesn't care whether the attention he/they receive is good or bad. He's actually done the lawyer thing before.
