Even if you didn't have to reach AS hard for Sheith as you did for, say, Shallura or Plance or Klance, it was still left up in the air on purpose. Just cause the staff loved the idea of Sheith doesn't mean they could make it happen because guess what, WEP probably wouldn't let them. And DW wasn't wild about the idea of Gay Shiro at first. Not that this is GOOD, but do these people not get that when you work on a show you have higher-ups to answer to?

I hope She-Ra's creators get fucked over when they try to make their Catradora fantasies come true on screen.

Sheith isn't a terrible horrible ship at all, heck I quite like it... but the levels of obsession and hypocrisy of so many Sheith fans are getting disturbing at this rate. That quote from JDS does not automatically endorse the idea of them being canon, it merely states that they're close, which is already a good thing since it means they will always be this way no matter the nature of their mutual affection...

... But to these (wo)manchildren, Shiro and Keith's relationship is ONLY valid if they're sucking on each others' faces. Which IMO is really stupid, gross and borderline homophobic, because it's the "woke" version of shit that bigots ACTUALLY believe and preach: that LGBT people cannot ever view other people of the same gender as just friends, only as dating/sex material, and secretly prey on these "friends" in hopes to "convert" them. In all honesty? Probably not; “fans” like these to either not know or not care how animation as an industry works. It’s the equivalent of someone yelling at a cashier because their product doesn’t work.

That they did, yes. Except for the Sheith fans it's not "look at all the good representation" so much as "the series would have been better and perfect in every way if MY OTP was canon." Because that's the whole idea behind this, not "common sense" or "good writing." My guess is they legit think Voltron would be better if Sheith was canon no matter what else happened.

And Pidge/Common Sense = Pidge becoming their mouthpiece for everything the writer didn't like about the actual show, I bet.

That tells us everything we need to know about this person. It doesn't matter the fandom they're a part of (they just so happen to "like" Voltron), all they want is gay rep, but their version of rep sucks. All it comes down to is "LOOK AT US, WE'RE SUPER GAY AND BETTER THAN YOU BECAUSE WE'RE FABULOUUSS!!" and getting your face rubbed into something like that is obnoxious and even gross because fetishes aren't something you should be showing off in public. And then they screech about how there's no "gay rep" in their children's cartoons/literature even though children's cartoons/literature have always had gay characters but they were characters first-and-foremost.

They also whine about labeling being baiting/-phobic/-ist only to do the exact same thing themselves because only they can do the labeling. I wish this person good fucking luck at publishing a book, too, given the shitstorm surrounding the YA community and ilk in which not even their token gay POC authors are safe from scrutiny, but it's just more entertainment for us onlookers.

I hate what this fucking show turned into around season 3. I keep hearing that the writers wanted to do space opera with an ensemble cast more than a sci fi action series and if that is true then it shows.

Keith is a fucking cunt by the way. Last I left him he was an asocial prick that the writers kept on insisting had leadership qualities as heir to Shiro that he never once demonstrated. I don’t know if that changed in the coming seasons but I’m not interested in finding out.
Considering how they originally debuted Allura as den mother to Shiro’s den father (whatever the hell you want to call it) I can’t fathom why she wasn’t naturally pegged to fly the Black Lion.
It would have given the character something to do and prevented the musical chair lions that had to occur in order to shuffle the pilots around in order to force Keith into being the leader. Totally negating the whole journey everyone took bonding with their respective lions in the first place.

Can someone explain to me why the writers felt they needed to cater to the SJW crowd in the first place and continue to do so?
Especially after one of them tried to blackmail studio Mir.
I’d have intentionally written Shiro as straight after that or bisexual out of spite. Him marrying Allura after dating a man would have generated so much Salt crops would have died for miles.

Where the hell is their sense of self respect and indignation?
