This is absolutely wrong. Even in Canada a third party can record a private conversation if the recording party could naturally overhear the conversation.Recording someone without their consent is illegal (aside from like news and such, I think) but the way it sounds it'd be pretty hard not to record the Yanivs doing something, given that they're constantly yelling and fighting and fighting/running at people around the building. Somebody living in their building is liable to record them fighting while videoing their pet, especially if they're a direct neighbor.
It really is beautiful how WGKitty is inside his brain at this level.
You're thinking of surreptitiously recording. That's a different story.
