Not sure about Akira because it was the 80s and that was probably even before us Yanks we’re sharing VHS tapes of fansubs but the other two definitely. And honestly, the only connection they’d probably have with anime hipsters would be trashing Sailor Moon because cousins. As for Miyazaki, Ghibli’s there because they want something to show what anime is to their parents and friends when they ask what anime is.

I wish they wouldn't give him ideas. Toriyama would put them in there both to appease fans and to piss off fans or maybe just to kill Dragonball. He can be a bit of a troll and seems to hate Dragonball in a way.

Fun fact, the only reason we got the movies and then Super was because Toriyama was snubbed out of the creative process for Evolution.

Exactly. Not sure about the creative process part, but certainly there would not have been this renaissance era for Dragon Ball with Toriyama's involvement if Dragon Ball: Evolution was not such a disaster.

I'm glad I never paid any attention to anime "journalism" past the occasional answerman. It confuses me every time I see articles like this get made, though one look at that site name tells me everything.

I'm honestly also confused on their apparent stay in the community since most of them don't seem to actively enjoying watching any anime and just seem to hover around the most popular shows.

That's largely what I've observed too. Sadly, they also infest any series that is more aimed at women or that have characters you can gay ship together which is most sports anime.

It truly is depressing how they try and frame things. A show about fighting honorably, protecting people weaker then you, being loyal to friends and family. And their ake away is that this is something new and revolutionary compared to what society teaches men. The fact that they cant put 2 and 2 together to realize that the shrieking of intersectional feminism is the outlier. The message of dragonball is the same one normal people have given young men for thousands of years and if you didnt get that growing up you are the weird one, not society.

One. There is a very feminine character in Steins;Gate that has male genetelia due to a birth defect (and would technically be a dude). They use the time machine to correct that issue when she's in utero. Then they have to fuck her up again due to negative consequences from the butterfly effect (it's complicated, and actually kinda sad).

The others I am thinking of are more of the "trap" variety you're discounting. There's a shitton of them.

I'll point out that knowing a client is planning to lie under oath is a reason to withdraw as counsel, as knowing your client is going to lie under oath and putting him on the stand is a violation of the lawyer's code of professional conduct. When your client tells you he is going to lie on the stand, you still have an obligation to the court not to allow perjured, false, or fraudulent evidence to be brought before the court. You must, in that case, withdraw from representation. Here's an easily-digested article.

This is why your attorney will never ask you if you are guilty or innocent of a crime. If you say yes, you're guilty, he can't let you say in your testimony that you're innocent.
