Thanks...I question exactly what he's charged with? The Cops came for the tasers (2) & found Bear spray & other items. He also mentioned the CP that "someone" just sent him...So is he charged with 1 taser? or multiple offenses?...In the states there will be a public court docket that will list all charges one is appearing before the judge for...Anything similar in Canada?

Some women's prisons have daycares for newborns up to the age of toddlers, because some women come in pregnant and have their babies in prison and separating them is traumatic for both and the babies are innocent. Then there's the problem of a lot of violent prisoners being in there because they are literally exceptional, which is why they have little inhibitions and commit violent crime, also because they don't have the foresight to consider consequences. There may be adult women in there with the minds of young girls, if they're young looking and white too, Yaniv will feel like he's going to Disneyland. I just saw an article the other day about Kelly Ellard one of the accused in the Reena Virk case (bunch of 15 year old skanks killed another 14 year old because they didn't like the way she looks, it was pretty controversial at the time) got pregnant and concieved since being convicted.

This is not the trial judge. This is a procedural judge. They are not able to look at anything not presented by the prosecution.

This court date is just to establish a reason to go to trial, and decide what kind of trial it will be.

Unless he killed someone with that taser, he won't even be remanded, as others have indicated here.

Notice how after the initial slight flurry of media activity sprouted, we have virtually nothing? I doubt it's because the media won't touch it. What's the deal in canada about politely/respectfully sending the judge/DA video footage of him wailing on the old guy with the cane a few days later? The judge and DA, are they considered public figures approachable by phone or e-mail? I really feel they should be made aware of the cane attack video before the stun gun/pepper-spray court hearing. You guys are acting like he'd be going to Federal prison if charged, but it'll be Provincial. Federal is for 2+ years and where you'll find the pedobashers. Provincial is under 2 years and it's full of DUI'ers, small time criminals, drug addicts, domestic abusers, and hotheads who get in bar fights on the regular.

When you're in a criminal courtroom, the Court Services Officer at the door and the Judge's Deputy keep an eye on people to make sure nobody's got their electronics out. If a picture is taken, the Court Security Officer can confiscate the device and have you wipe it.
It's a bit different when you're in the halls outside of the courtrooms. A criminal courthouse, if it's the same out West as it is here, will be understaffed and the officers have to pick their battles. The only thing they can realistically get in shit for is if people are using electronics in a courtroom, because a Judge will complain.

Because of that, unless you've got someone who's a real stickler for the rules, you should be able to quickly pull out your phone and check something provided you don't draw too much attention to yourself and dress appropriately.

If someone were to do this to get a pic of Johnny in his sunday best for court...well, it may not be allowed, but I don't see anyone stopping it.

In Vancouver, they'll take smartphones and any other device that's capable of recording video and or audio and hold them at the Sheriff's desk.
Accredited press can record audio for notes but have to delete it after they are finished. Live tweeting is only allowed at the discretion of the Judge.


The court house at 222 Main street in Vancouver takes knives and things like that but has a cafeteria 40 feet away from the metal detector with a tray full of steel knives and forks for the public to use.
You can just walze in a take one, they don't track them at all.


If you are publishing photo's and audio from courts, you'll likely get tracked down and charged.

My recordings inside the Human rights tribunals are illegal but I doubt they'll do anything as the HRT staff were shitting themselves when the crowds and media showed up on the 26th of July

In general, I think privacy laws in hearings in Canada are a lot stricter than the US. It's going to be a fair deal harder to get a leak into any hearing, as few hearings are open to the public, and you are far more limited in what you can record.

The Don was kincda nice, really ideal for remand (interim detention). Really close to court, so you didn't have to spend hours cooking in a wagon with other detainees. The Don was just for interim detention, like with immigration holds or active matters before the courts, with longer stints at a place like Milton or Etobicoke.

The Don was quaint, the thing you're probably thinking about is the amount of organized crime detention while on remand for a big population centre like Toronto.. Superjails like the Hurst (detention complex) are more like warehouses for sentencing. BC is different, cuz they've less centres for detention. Can't speak to the Vancouver area tho...

I don't see him getting hard time, especially because he's such a fucking retard. He'll likely wind up spending most of his time in a criminal medical facility (jail hospital). But putting him out of circulation is where the Crown will be aiming. He's so special that he'll likely be in PC or just Med Seg for his remand.
