What some people don't seem to realize is that even winning some is still a big win for Vic, especially considering where he was at the beginning of this mess.

He hasn't won anything yet, the others that didn't get thrown out are still under consideration from Chupp and we have 30 days for him to reach his decision.

That's not really relevant. Either it's evidence or it isn't. How it got there is meaningless. If Judge Chupp excluded it he doesn't have to take it into consideration but he's not entitled simply to ignore evidence that's in the record and come to a contrary factual conclusion.

I don't see any reason why he wouldn't try and fire up his own studio and try to get some work in Video Games, there's lots of that to go around for experienced VA's. Otherwise, he's had other projects of his own in the past, I am sure he will get by.

Also, like, he’s still employed at other studios. IIRC either Viz or ADV straight up said that they weren’t gonna fire him without evidence of wrongdoing, and even if the entire case gets dropped it’s not like it means Vic was a rapist. If they haven’t fired him by now, then he’s probably safe for the time being.

The person I spoke with was surprised to hear anyone thought Chupp tossed TI against Ron and Monica.

None of this seems to be thanks to Lemwah's ingenuity, actually. It's that plaintiff didn't do their best job, but as long as their case isn't dismissed entirely, it's not a loss. There's that and the fact that judge doesn't seem to like his job.

If Ronica's TI is still up to the judge's decision, then I think the picture get more obvious.

Basically, Vic sued everyone for both defamation and tortious interference in the context of a civil conspiracy.
If the judge decided that the civil conspiracy claim alone is meritless for anyone but Ron and Monica, then Funimation and Marchi got automatically out of the tortious interference (for which they were liable only by association in regard to the evidences).
And without the civil conspiracy, the same liability by association is thrown off for the defamation, leaving Marchi with her single non nominative tweet only.

So in the end, it might look like the judge only said that the civil conspiracty is not, that Marchi's defamation was weak sauce, and that he will rule later for everything left.

No matter what happens in 30 days, it's best to keep in mind that Vic was able to go into the courtroom in an attempt to clear his name and tell his side of the story, which was the main goal this whole time. Twitter's kangaroo court didn't win in that regard, and we're still in the "innocent" part, no one's been "proven guilty" yet. The smug attitude is going to be super obnoxious for a while, but stand your ground and just keep doing the same thing you've been doing: archiving and/or donating to the war chest. It's not over until it's over.

That said, the blue balls in that we have to wait until tomorrow for Nick to do a stream about it is what rustles my jimmies most. May the transcripts come quick.
