Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

When's the last time you've ever seen someone juxtapose something so cloying and empty with a picture taken in a court proceeding?

I don't know man, I don't scroll through people's instagram feeds to find PR photographs to get mad about.

TI is out altogether because Chupp wanted at least two provable instances of TI.

Defamation is potentially binding on Rial+Toye, Funimation.
Conspiracy potentially binding on Rial+Toye (honestly this might just be because they're in a relationship).

Chupp confirmed for Chumpp
Out entirely?

JFC they cost a business tens of thousands of dollars and probably destroyed the con all in the name of an ego filled tantrum.
They lost him business with RT.
They lost him business with Funi.
There's three right there.

Marchi, Rial, Shane, and pretty much anyone else who said "If you don't support us your not true anime fans" has done more damage to the anime community than the actual case has. I am really interested if Nick does have way more information on Funimation and decides to do a Nagasaki show.
Honestly, that’s probably all there is now. Chupp has denied the slam dunks, most of the charges are tossed, and it’s very possible that this could be forgotten for the next internet drama really easily. And the legal process is relying on Vic’s desire to keep going should things go tits up. KV is celebrating and Greg is offering bingo boards to show how the tides have turned. And Dallas has their reporter doing puff pieces. We need a miracle. Preferably now.

I mean, if things had gone the other way and Chupp immediately granted half of the charges and had mean words for the defendants, it wouldn't be over either. They'd be looking to appeal it as well. I'm still interested to see what Nick says, and what the next filings are, since most reports came from biased kickvic sources.
This actually reminds me. Even the most optimistic predictions never predicted Chubbs to rule on the day of the hearing.

Doesn't have to be Instagram, but I think I got your point.

PR is one thing, but it's nauseating how blatantly fake these people are. Earlier on, I was anticipating that the public-facing behavior that Vic has would be revealed to be a persona severely at odds with his actual person (a sexual predator). He turns out to more than likely (read: almost certainly) not, but that magnitude of disparity-- the one where you'd be blindsided thinking that the person was an awful individual even if you had your suspicions-- was what I was expecting.

Instead I lay witness to low effort pretenses that my unborn children would be able to see through. Average people deal with these sorts of people all the time. And especially with the position of our culture, we have expectations about the kind of remarks that someone would make about their courtroom proceedings.

And this isn't it.

They didn't have his RT or Funi contracts to work with to begin with.

Probably because of the discovery stay.

(I think I understand why someone would want to take a Supreme Court axe to this statute. It's either well meaning or it only exists to make the judge's job more convenient, but it intentionally hampers the ability of plaintiff to gather evidence that they'll have to use for the court hearing to demonstrate that they're not just trying to shut people up via lawsuit.)

Relax Kiwis, it ain't over. If you're biased, you can take the existing archives and archive the whole thread for context.

If you just want a laugh, that's fine too.

The only reason why I think the defamation case stuck is because the publicity of #metoo is a double edged sword for Chupp. He either deals with angry women and soy boys who are willing to doxx and ruin his life, his career, and his court, or a bunch of anime fags. He'd probably want to deal with a bunch of anime fags and incels instead. With all of the information against Ron in public view, it's hard to argue defamation even if he throws it out.

If you're still in the fight, help BHBH make a clean timeline for appeals. You still have work to do Kiwis.

The change of tides will come in KV's overconfidence.
What put holes in our ship will take pieces of theirs because they feel they've done enough.

Vic and co haven't gotten dirty. Nick did the majority of any dirty work masqueraded as investigative journalism.
But if Vic is finally angry and everyone on his team gets that same determination...We might see the strategy begin to shift into something more unpredictable and a little dangerous.

Making them scared was the best thing that they could do. Chuck did. Stan did. Chris Slatosch did. The leaks did. Let them be confident long enough to get too cocky and then drown them in paranoia.

Personal army, and all that.

Disregarding that his job makes his address very discoverable, if that was somehow his rationale, taxation truly is theft and this is why you pay attention to everyone on the ballots.

If you're gonna cope, don't cope while bleeding hard enough that KV can smell your blood.

...they're getting paid with taxpayer money.

Sometimes undeservedly.

He is your typical American Dream Dad with beautiful daughters. I doubt he would want to throw that away and miss football practice. That's why BHBH has to provide bulletproof evidence. Boomers and Dallas News is breathing down his neck.
