Psychonauts and Their Reports - Erowid Experience Vaults / The Psychonaut Wiki / Drugs Forum

I found this:

I used to like reading the erowid volatile hydrocarbon (gasoline, etc) trip (actually, usually fairly long term use) reports.

"I seem to be having permanent cognitive impairment" seems to be recurring theme.
Well, that's all subjective. Some people think that's an awful side effect. Some people think that's a fun night. Just a matter of perspective, maaaaaan.

The foreword to 'Cunt Odyssey: Search for Vaginal Datapoints' is the best part, rest is pretty boring..
This report describes a group experiment undertaken by 8 women curious about the potential effects of vaginal administration of drugs. Some of these women had gathered together previously for group tripping in a relaxed, socializing “slumber party” setting. Most of these women had met at least once before the experimental evening and knew each other quite well. Previous slumber parties involved about 5-8 women ages 24 to 60 showing up at one woman’s house with a selection of psychoactives plus food for the next morning. These gatherings involve making a comfy nest in the living room, chatting a bit, sharing information about what psychoactives we’ve brought to share, and then deciding what to take based on what’s available and what we’re feeling like. At the previous slumber party, available compounds included: MDMA, LSD, 2C-B, 2C-T-21, 2C-I, TMA-2, acacia resin, mescaline-containing cactus extract, ketamine [IM and intranasal], cannabis, nitrous oxide, and GHB.

This slumber party was convened with the intention to administer primarily LSD [paper tabs] intravaginally and noting response. One woman abstained from the LSD and took 2C-B instead (following by ketamine). Two took MDMA intravaginally in veggie capsules in addition to the LSD. Another abstained from LSD and took alprazolam instead and served as scribe. One participant imagined that she would have to take more [5 hits rather than one] for this method of administration, but the majority operating assumption was that we should “take less” than a typical oral social dose. This came in part from one story a participant had heard of adverse reactions (i.e. heart attack) from women whose partners had put cocaine on their cocks before intercourse, as well as experiences of rectal administration...

I wish there was a way to search Erowid by 'number of drugs taken in combination'. It's cool that you can search for all the people who mixed benzos and alcohol and then huffed nitrous, but that just isn't quite enough excitement for me.

I've been using the randomizer mostly, but that feature would make pulling quality content down so much more easily. That's the only real problem with Erowid, some of the stuff is fantastic but there's just so much content on that site by this point that it's harder to find the good stuff easily. That's basically why I've been using the randomizer to open pages, look at the title and drug intake and skim the middle to see if it's any good.

DC: 42 y.o., 127 lbs., meds: birth control pills, menstruating and has a yeast infection, Leo, Aries, Sagitarius.
She took 1 hit of blotter acid vag., then another after one hour. At T+2:30, “Well I say, I’m not going to get high tonight.”

The yeast infection ruined the acid trip. It's a rookie mistake, totally understandable.

420chan's boards were always a big highlight, between the guys taking 2g of dph and going on hellish trips that always ended in hospital to the endless wars between addy and coke users on /stim/

I took dph a few times based on /del/ threads and it was interesting, even if it was fucked up and terrifying
DPH is something no one should ever do. It’s no fun at all.

I used to love reading Erowid when I had too much time on my hands. Some of the shit people do when they're high is fucking hilarious.
Did you know that benadryl can make you have extremely realistic hallucinations? You can't tell the difference between the hallucinations and reality. Those are some of my favorites to read.
One was a guy who kept seeing scorpions everywhere, so he'd get a plastic cup and put it over the scorpion. Then another one would show up, and he'd do it again.. and again.. till eventually his floor is covered in plastic cups with fake scorpions under them.

One of the more memorable ones was a high school kid who took a shit ton of benadryl his first time (like over 1000 mg, to give you some perspective, 50 mg is the recommended dose.) I think the first day, he went to his friend's house and just past out. The next day, he had to go to school. So he had the ingenious idea of taking that dose again. He couldn't function. But managed to pass through the day with only a little suspicion. He keeps fucking taking these ridiculous doses of benadryl and acting like a drunken idiot till finally his mom discovers a big ass bottle of benadryl in his room. I think he went to rehab after that.

Managed to find it if anyone wants to give it a read for themselves.

It's forever funny to me just how frequently it turns out that the people who supposedly have experienced "ego death" and are "enlightened" from psychedelics are actually some of the most vapid and narcissistic people ever.

Because it's easy to make up because most people don't make these kinds of experiences nor seek them out and a lot of this stuff has urban myth status and will always remain subjective (the brain is complicated and most drugs affecting the brain, legal or illegal, can work completely differently on different people) so it's even easier to make shit up. This draws in the poseurs and attention-whores like crazy because you can't really dispute their claimed experiences. How would you?

Slight powerlevel but when I was young I was partial to LSD now and then, and it was also still relatively easily obtainable, without all that internet junk and weird designer drugs that skim around legal definitions. Some experiences on it felt vivid and very profound when I had them but it was not necessarily because they were profound experiences, but because the drug made me feel like they were. Logically disassembling my experiences later usually brought me to the conclusion that a lot of it was actually really mundane and was more the result of my scrambled brain, not some sort of "induced enlightenment" or any of that mumbo jumbo. That also took all the fun out of it.

Not saying they can't be interesting experiences, since that stuff does change your experience quite vividly, even in ways not everyone is equipped psychologically to cope with. Then again, every experience you ever make in your life can form you in some way, so it's not all that mythical and people who claim that stuff magically transforms you into some enlightened other are either bullshitting you or themselves. The only way any drug can change your profoundly quickly just by taking it is by giving you brain damage. You usually don't want that I'd say.

tl;dr drugs are a lot less cool than these kids think

I was really into psychedelics for a time and in the Grateful Dead lot scene/druggie festival scene. This includes the big ones where fratty college fucks go and buy drugs at inflated prices and weird ass events in the woods that nobody outside the scene really knows about. The people involved are uniformly troubled, have an unfortunate tendency towards heroin, hubbas (crack), and booze. This is generally attributed to, as in the words of one of the psychedelic pioneers (I forget who, not Leary, maybe McKenna) that "once you get the message you should hang up the phone." The idea of drugs having a "message" though is a problem in itself, one and the same with being enlightened/reaching samadhi/ego death/whatevber they want to call it.

This is absolute nonsense (although I believed it for a time and then acted like I did for longer because I wanted to stay in that scene basically), the drugs just dock with these appropriate parts in your brain that exists for some reason by design or evolution create this feeling of disconnection basically (in various ways) from ordinary perception and the fact that you're seeing things in a slightly different light just like the poster said above a person can mistake for enlightenment/a message from the Aztec plant gods (the ayahuasca people are among the most fucking insufferable in the world) or whatever just because it highlights subjectivity of things in a different way than your day-to-day thinking.

This really fucks with peoples heads who do it a lot and they wound up "spun out" to "burnt out," usually these like autist levels of social interaction but usually very kind and gentle although some people get extremely grandiose and manic and even dangerous. The scene can be really scary sometimes. Even when Jerry was alive it was totally fucked and now it's basically just an open-air drug market with a sideshow of music not the other way round and a way for degenerate kids to live on the margins of society. Mostly too-smart-for-their-own good white trash kids with a dash of preppies slumming it...really not that different a demographic from marginal Internet scenes tbh.

I have shittons of stories about these people that could probably go in the Personal Lolcow thread. I left the scene before social media really took off in the extreme so idk about their internet presence but I am certain there is a whole herd of lolcows and lolcalves out there. There used to be a really primitive bbs type site for Phish tour which used to have some really funny threads.

There is also this really long apocryphal story by some guy named Chinacat72 on the Shroomery (here: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/1427364 about getting LSD "thumbprints" (i.e. sticking your thumb in crystal LSD; remember that a good dose of LSD is like one quarter of a milligram. So we're talking a huge dose) and being initiated into the "Grateful Dead Family" and such. He is lying his ass off 100% as someone who's traveled in those circles but really contributed to this grandiose myth of "spreading the love/enlightenment by selling LSD" that the gypsy freaks at shows and festivals buy into sometimes. It's bullshit; there's no such thing as "crystal lines" (white fluff, silver, whatever) it's all marketing and all capitalism; the kids on the top are living in fancy houses out in Northern California and now usually getting shit from overseas (getting the precursors to LSD domestically attracts attention and it is not an easy synth to do you need probably at least the equivalent of a BS in Chem's worth of knowledge to even start to begin to pull it off; it's not like cooking meth or simple cathinones or even MDMA) but make this whole heroic story about themselves. And they take a lot of their own product which in their own minds increases the grandiosity (supposed ego death lol) and everyone down the line gets caught up in the hype and delusion.

It is, as I said, a sad and utterly frightening place sometimes. A lot of the low level people are total gangsters. Yes, people do pull off armed robberies on each other and beat people up and forcibly dose them with sanity-destroying amounts of LSD. It is an incredibly insular world that the outside world really knows next to nothing about. There was one documentray, I believe it was called Dreadheads or something like that that sort of shows a little bit of the total madness but really, you have to have been there. I could go on for hours about this stuff. Now that drugs are available easily for stupid people online things are a little different, that scene was dying when I left and that was before Silk Road et al. (although secret online forums for selling drugs were a thing...that was a scene with some lolcows and scammers and flying accusations of pedophelia and just a lot of wtf.) So I am sure stuff is different now. To a degree. But I'm sure the lot lizard degens are still doing their thing.

There are also a lot of really exceptional people on the drug boards like Bluelight and DrugsForum and they show their exceptionality even more in their general/social/talk forums/threads and in the way that the equally drug-deranged mods run the show. DrugsForum used to have a members-only board for selling drugs, I think that's gone, Bluelight is super strict about not selling drugs online but they have a big cast of spergs and weirdos. Sites like the Shroomery and another hippie site that I forget the name of have even more.

Earth & Fire Erowid OTOH are great people online and off. Very smart and pretty moderate at least days in their own consumption and they make a lovely couple. Way too many West Coast hipsterpie Burning Man vibes though honestly for me to fuck with them a lot but we've met (I've met and hung out with most of the celebrities including Sasha Shulgin...who was a really great man but you could tell on the inside looking at the culture that his inventions/discoveries lead to was full of WTF IS THIS SHIT) ... and all the guys like Rick Doblin from MAPS and Neal Goldsmith in NYC are huge hedonists who like weed cocaine and starry eyed college aged young women and are a #MeToo waiting to happen.

What's up with the PsychedSubstance guy? His latest video is having a pity party about his life and he shows this painting that his daughter made:

View attachment 970967

Either his daughter is talented or he paid someone to make that.

I just watched that video of his recently. I'd always given him the benefit of the doubt because of how he tends to come across on camera, but he really is kind of obnoxious in the way he presents his content.

I suspect he's someone who, even if only subconsciously, believes a little too much in the 'spiritual healing' of getting really fucked on psychs, and hasn't figured out that he needs to get his shit together before he takes any exciting drugs.

That said, some of his videos are legitimately pretty informative, unlike the tards on Erowid who write about their totally wild coke benders like they're shamanistic rituals. I just wish they were a smidge more serious.
