Them being quiet is very strange, you would think they'd immediately write a speculative article wondering if there will be more layoffs to come. I also love how he's implying that 8 people losing their jobs to "redundancies", a job they might have worked at for many years or a decade, isn't newsworthy to them unless it's more people. It doesn't matter to them that people that could have been very good at their work have been cut just because of "redundancies" and are now forced to find more work, I have no idea of the job market there, but getting layoff can be an absolutely horrible experience for people.

It honestly disgusts me how callous he is when talking about "ANN had bigger news to cover" as the reason.

I remember back when I was still new to anime I used ANN a lot for news and for series reviews. Nowadays I get most of my "breaking anime news" off of /a/ or /m/ which is usually a lot faster then ANN is, especially when kind anons translate announcements into English. If I care about western releases I just follow the companies I like on twitter and see if they release any shows I like.

ANN really doesn't have a place anymore with how easy it is to find out information for yourselves, but I guess they are still the biggest site for anime news. I know nichegamer just opened up an anime news division so maybe I'll check them out, but honestly I'll probably just stick to how I've been doing things since it cuts out the middle men.

i wouldnt say his lawyer bungled everything up yet. Its pretty clear the judge didnt give a shit about either side and just wanted to get it over with. Could Beard have done a better job? absolutely. The beard hype needed to be pegged down a little anyway. This reminds me of that Better call saul part where Saul pitch for his female lawyer friend to some company saying a firm has multiple clients and their attention might be split while having a single lawyer take the company case means they have someone fully dedicated.

See the difference with Marchie strip mall lawyer lol. He had the easiest case to work with of anyone involved so far but he didnt bungle it up. "Allegations" may have existed before this, but nobody gave two flying fucks about them until Monica, Jamie, Ron, and Funimation said something. That added weight/credibility to the claims.
