Remember kids, if you so much as try to stand up for someone and try to prove their innocence after they've been falsely accused and then subsequently harassed then you are, apparently, the scum of the Earth.

I always love how the people that actually believe this stuff, usually gloating about how progressive and woke they are, would fit right in back during the red scares. They would be the same people that would call everyone a commie with little evidence and get people fired or kicked out of the country like my boy Chaplin. These people have absolutely zero self awareness.

I had thought that Aniplex could be the "premier" brand while Funimation is the "economy" brand. But if they are doing this to streamline everything to a streaming service then that means they want standardized protocols, tech and communications between all branches.

That seems like what they might do since I think trying to transplant Aniplex titles over to Funi titles would cause too much backlash. Maybe with the merger Aniplex can actually put some decent goodies into their expensive releases so the price point feels actually justified past it being similar to what the Japanese pay.

I know Funi already does their Classic and S.A.V.E edition line where you can get cheaper releases, I don't know if they'd continue it but it seems likely they would. S.A.V.E somewhat specifically for unpopular shows they don't plan on renewing the license to nor release more from that series, once you see that S.A.V.E edition you better grab that as soon as you can unless you like paying oop prices. Even when the series has gotten not just one but two new seasons and has a nice movie coming out too, that's still a series they want nothing to do with yet also nobody else can probably pick it up either because they are still sitting on the license because why not.

I will give them create for actually release stuff better than a certain other company sitting on the license since 2013 for several series I would really like to own but refuse to pay oop prices for.

Honestly it just sucks being a western Mecha fan when you're into non-Gundam stuff as well.

I have no idea how this merger or whatever it ends up being will pan out but I'm not optimistic with it being Aniplex. Their pricing model is a very none starter for most people and even if they have a series I'd like to own I don't care. There are several similarly expensively priced things that I would rather spend my money on.

I'm surprised the ANN, with its desperate clickbait nature, would not jump on the chance to be able to put out an article on this new event. Them being quiet is very strange, you would think they'd immediately write a speculative article wondering if there will be more layoffs to come. I also love how he's implying that 8 people losing their jobs to "redundancies", a job they might have worked at for many years or a decade, isn't newsworthy to them unless it's more people. It doesn't matter to them that people that could have been very good at their work have been cut just because of "redundancies" and are now forced to find more work, I have no idea of the job market there, but getting layoff can be an absolutely horrible experience for people.

It honestly disgusts me how callous he is when talking about "ANN had bigger news to cover" as the reason.

I wonder if ANN has published articles about similar lay off situations before...

Yep. Assuming any of what she said is even true it just makes her look bad all the same. Why didn't she let anyone know what happened in the hotel room soon after what Vic "did" happened? If what Vic did to her was so traumatic then why didn't she let the proper authorities know? Why not at least let her friends, like Jamie and Specht that she says she loves so much, or any of the other VAs know before this all started? Why not let Funimation know that one of their employees just sexually abused her? Vic was left to do what he presumably did to her and his fans for years and no one did anything about it until now?

Simply put, this was all done to remove Vic from the equation over at Funimation and the industry in general like you and others have said. As Chuck pointed out in his affidavit, Vic was very disliked over at Funimation. Having some of the more well known VAs like Monica, Sabat and Schemmel talk shit behind his back for years. As soon as the new DBS movie was announced to have Broly as the main antagonist of the film, and then went on to become the 3rd highest grossing anime film in history in America, I'm sure they all went "Oh, fuck. Broly's coming back? And he's canon now? That means we're going to have Vic around even more now, aren't we?". Mix that up with the fact that Vic was supposed to be next in line to become a director and would've had a lot of say over at Funimation and that a lot of the people working there didn't like that he was a conservative christian, that he apparently voted for Trump and that he was friendly and very popular with his fans and you had people like Sabat, an apparent democrat and the owner of the studio that Funimation outsources to, getting desperate. It got to the point that the conniving snakes decided to hurry and cobble up some allegations to get him removed as soon as possible. Conveniently right after Broly and Vic were heading into the spotlight thanks to the movie, after HanLeia made her tweet and @MarzGurl started her shitty movement.

This is just another group of disgusting people, taking the voice away from actual victims, using the #metoo movement to have someone removed for their personal gain. They never wanted Vic to get any help or cared if he disappeared somewhere, if he necked himself with a rope or if he ate a bullet. They just wanted him gone permanently one way or another.

Makes me feel special and fuzzy inside knowing you and other people on the KV side come to the farms looking for posts like mine to talk about on Twitter. I'm not american, so I'm probably missing something about the stupid two party system shit, but why is it such a big deal if someone voted for trump? Sure the guy is a fucking ridiculous choice for president, but I'm sure people voted for him because of his policies and not because "orangeman said the racist/sexist thing, me must vote". Alternatively, maybe people thought Hilary was a worse option for president.

He beat Hillary. For two years the American public was told that her election was inevitable. Unstoppable. She had the experience, the best people in her campaign and the money. Voting was symbolic and we may as well put a crown on her head because a golden age was comin'.

But things went wrong. "Experience" meant "has a long history of pandering." "The Best people" working her campaign all hated each other and bickered over strategy. And Trump knew how to manipulate the press to give him billions in free coverage and he still has more money than Clinton.

In a panic, Clinton's campaign threw every allegation they could at Trump. Misogynist. "The Next Hitler". Anti-intellectual. Greedy Capitalist. Anti-LGBT.

None of this stopped him. It only increased his momentum. All the rules went out the window. It wasn't supposed to be like this.

So left leaning people were convinced that Trump would celebrate his inauguration by slamming people in an oven.

Imagine if you had a roommate that trafficked in conspiracy theories and screamed at the walls at all hours of the day.
