I've been echoing this for a while.
The appalling behavior from the VAs made me jump from a fringe supporter with mild skepticism (wondering if there was truth in the defense because Vic was always brought up by anime con people I know), to fully supporting Vic.

They've got no one to blame for the shitstorm but themselves.

Me too, man. At least the first month or so, even though I'd done research previously, I really wasn't sure. I was willing to stand by Vic because I stood by due process, but I was open to the possibility that he might be guilty. People like Chris Sabat and Sonny Strait said to believe Monica, people claimed to be a part of a massive investigation, and while I couldn't find evidence that it was true, it was compelling. Why believe someone I barely kept track of, and who admittedly had older rumors about him, over people that I liked and who should have been trustworthy?

It's sad that they're seething so hard at Nick, because honestly, I don't think it's just us. I think most people turned against the VAs entirely because of what the VAs did themselves.

And as an aside, now I hope Vic might come by some bump in the road signing near me. I don't know what I'd say, but I'd like to have a chance to meet him.

Okay...I gotta say: I prefer dubs and Kickvic can't change that, but boy has it messed up my enjoyment of Funimation VAs.
Been there for a while now. Honestly, between the three defendants, before the whole shitshow, I would've said I liked Monica's work more than Vic's, and Vic only beat out Jamie by a little. And if I force myself, I can try to see past all this and say sure, I still like her voice work. But it's really, really, really hard.

Not just that, but other VAs who came out against Vic. I like Leah Clark's writing, especially in comedies, but after she called Vic a Weinstein and that he was grooming people I'm like, nah, fuck you bitch. I still get a laugh out of her scripts, but it's tempered by knowing what she is.

There's others, like, I don't know, Madeleine Morris who retweeted the Dallas Morning Lies TCPA article and paid Douchette $20 for the hearing transcript, Sarah Weidenheft who breached contract while having a pedo brother, Alex Moore who tweeted a hearty laugh after the TCPA hearing, and so on.

I can still kind of like their roles, but it's soured me on them as people.

Luckily there's lots of other VAs I still like who have been silent on the matter.

And as an aside, now I hope Vic might come by some bump in the road signing near me. I don't know what I'd say, but I'd like to have a chance to meet him.
He does like hugs. Or a good handshake.

Vic? I honestly am not even sure I knew his name until 2014 when the rumors splashed all over the internet because of Free. Although I quickly determined the rumors were lies, I was still dismissive of him after that. He was just one of hundreds of VAs I never really bothered to keep track of. Now I know he's a real sweetheart and a great guy, but I was never really a fan before this.

Chris Sabat, though? He voices a bunch of my favorite characters, I enjoy the voices he picked for his characters - especially All Might and Vegeta. I considered myself a fan, and I really wanted to meet him and get some things signed some time, because it seemed like it would be fun to talk to him. Obviously, that's no longer the case. Now I'd be tempted to avoid buying a ticket to a convention just because he happened to be a guest there. And while I'm not so fickle as to say his voices are suddenly terrible, hearing his voice has become irritating purely for who it is.

Other VAs I liked in the past have been dragged into this, too. Even VAs who simply replaced Vic in a role I can't help but feel soured toward. I can't appreciate a new or changed voice when I know it's only different because Sabat was seething so hard at the role going to Vic that he started signal boosting fake rape stories in the hope Vic up and died.

It's just annoying. It's one thing if you're some starry-eyed fan who thinks Chris Evans is really Captain America, and are crushed when you go look him up only for reality to ensue. It's a whole different thing, though, when you go out of your way to try to ignore or otherwise separate art from artist, only to have people like Chris Sabat push their increasingly scumbag behavior out into the open where it can't be missed. For an entire year.

I want to rephrase something that's been said often recently: It's already too late for Funimation. Even if they somehow succeed in fully destroying Vic after all this, they'll never get back what they've lost. They've pointlessly kamekaze'd themselves just to unseat one frankly unimportant VA.

The damage is done, and it wasn't done by Nick, it wasn't even done by Vic. It was done by themselves.

Yea, it's pretty shitty. Especially when you grew up watching work done by them.

I always watched anime with English dubbing and thought to myself how it was much better than subs in every way. With Dragon Ball being one of the big ones high up on the list. I have a lot of fond memories watching that anime every chance I got whenever it was on TV. I liked the show and the dubbing so much that I would watch videos of iconic moments and fights from the show and would listen to Falconers music over and over again on Youtube whenever I was bored and didnt have anything else to do. Made me want to meet the people who voiced some of my favorite characters someday too and maybe get something signed by them.

Not so much now though. I can't watch the Dragon Ball dub by Funimation, or any dub from them in general, without cringing and thinking about the sacred ointment and a casting couch and without thinking about what insufferable, back stabbing pieces of shit people like Sabat, Monica and Marchi are. Or about what a little bitch Schemmel turned out to be. It's made me appreciate subs and the work that's put into it a lot more now honestly.

As they say, never meet your heroes.

I know a lot of people here just want to see idiots on both side chimp out and lose their shit over the dumbest things to get a chuckle or two but here's hoping things do go well for Vic. That dude deserves better.

Remember that while Faisal blocked @EriMin in the hope of her not contradicting him, apparently Monica contacted Stan when she revealed his name in the interrogatory. So she wanted to pull him onto her side with whatever contact she made...it just didn't work. Likely because he was already irritated, and her attempt actually would have made him and his con look bad.
I have a pretty simple theory about Stan: Stan is a very professionnal con owner, he takes great care of his guest, and tend to be very friendly with them. Monica and friends probably smeared Vic in Stan's presence, and Stan probably stayed quiet because it's not his business to pick a side in his guest's ego wars. Monica probably didn't realize that Stan was acting friendly with all guests, and wrongfully took his silence when they were smearing Vic as Stan tacitly agreeing with them. So Monica probably thought that Stan was a friend, that he hated Vic too, and assumed that he would automatically be on her side... after all, people like her don't human very well.

Okay...I gotta say: I prefer dubs and Kickvic can't change that
Come to the dark side, we have more accurate translations.

I'm in a similar place with Rooster Teeth.

Like, Rooster Teeth seemed like the American Dream. Get a bunch of friends together, do stupid shit and make an empire out of it.

Now though you gotta wonder who these people actually are. Are they actually honest people that were put in a difficult situation? Or did they not like Vic's politics and used sexual harassment as a cover?

I haven't watched any RT stuff for a while now because of this situation. It just keeps getting worse.

Where do you get the idea from that she contacted Stan when doing that? His Tweets suggested the opposite. He was bewildered that he was named in legal documents

Same, tbh. *sigh*

Another thing:

@Svetlana sorry I'm using you as a messenger agin lol. I just wondered if Vic could comment on something. Might be best to just ask him directly.

Does Vic recognize this person at all? (no name on his profile) Does Vic have any idea what he might be talking about? Ever berated someone for being fat at the STC set? Remember any actor this guy could talk about? Ever used someone to cover up his cheating and promised them roles for it? Last question is super personal, I know.

Would be really awesome if you could ask Vic. Might be best to nip these stories in the bud right when they come up.

In Nick's interview with Stan, he stated that Rial contacted him after his first tweet about the situation, "apologizing" for dragging him into it.

Since its slow. Let's play a game. Weeb Wars Fuck, Marry, Kill. Your choices are TUG's Wife, Manjaw and MarzGurl.
I am going to hell for this but if I was forced to pick, I'd kill Tug's wife causes she's already heading to a slow death. Fuck Armzrat just to remind her that it will be the only real dicking she'll get in her life and Marry Manjaws so I'd be able to search through her shit while pretending to be soyboy and then bust her for it and before I do that, I'll call Chris Hansen so he'll vouch for me at the start of the hellish marriage.

But If I could I'd just kill armzrat and manjawo and then say to TUG's wife that I don't need to kill you cuz omae wa mou shindeiru.

It really sucks that Chupp chooses to throw shit out without even taking a look at the evidence. But if Vic does choose to appeal, he has more fight within himself than people seem to let on.

And as for nick, he really needs to stop sperging at fucktards. They're not going to be convinced either way, so the only remedy is to just make fun of them.

True, Nick is making some dumb moves on Twitter, He really needs to comeback and do a proper livestream.

Update on mediation - NO DEAL

Also, Nick met the dude who played Hagrid

Edit - For context:

WHAT THE FUCK NIGGA! Seriously, I can only hope that Vic tried to make it happen, but we'll see in the next livestream. And as for Chupp, I can only hope he realises that these people are gonna fuck with anyone because they got no respect for anyone but themselves.

I don't recall any fatties in STC. Is this guy assmad he didn't get cast as an extra?

In all honesty, I don't see a reality where the defendants don't appeal if even one cause of action remains, especially Funimation. The thought of discovery terrifies them.

The only possible scenario I can see this happening is if only Ron remains (say for defamation) and chooses to fall on his sword for m'lady and does not appeal. But that's a small percentage.

No, I agree. That's pretty much what everyone expects to happen. As for Ron not appealing, he will. He was (likely) told by Erick and Lemoine that they wouldn't get past TCPA, that it was a shoe-in. However he was also told they wouldn't have to depositions, too, and there'd be no discovery...but they have one day left to comply with discovery after TCPA, if they lose. Ron's got too much ego staked in this, there's no way he doesn't appeal if he's kept in on anything.

Chupp will (most likely) issue a ruling on Friday.
Whoever gets assblasted will appeal it.
I doubt Marchi will get dragged back in, but we're about due for an unexpected plot twist in this shitshow.
True, I don't think they can appeal it considering how much shit they've done and how lowkey disrespectful they've been to Chupp, but then again, the judge doesn't seem to be correct, if you get my drift.

It's all fun and games with your friends until saying Faggot suddenly makes your new corporate owners take away all your fresh money... then the WOKE-ness comes. It is inevitable really, modern western ""entertainment"" at its core is infected.

That is so true. Western entertainment is too corrupt and tied to corporatism in the wrong way. At least In Japan they know good art makes them money whereas in the west they just want to milk money out of peoples pockets.

Oh, I wouldn’t be surprised if Chupp read the whole document by Ty and realized just how much he screwed up the TCPA and didn’t know how serious this was. Why else would he order a mediation AFTER the TCPA? The fact that he told Marchi’s lawyer that there’s a possibility of them coming back three months later over an appeal is a dead giveaway.

One can hope this is why Chupp has a change of heart but either way, his ruling is gonna have massive ramifications and I hope he takes a no bullshit approach to this. There are too many clowns in the courtroom as it is.

your optimism is charming.... but misused. Chupp has proven he's got the touch, now the only question is how far it goes. He could end up being a new lolcow in this case... though honestly, that opinion has been tempered.
Based on the transcripts of his secret meeting, it seems more likely for him to seethe that the appeals court slapped the suit back to him with a warning than for him to chimp out. Which will suck but oh well. dipshit should've conducted himself possibly instead of tard out in court.
