Dave is really depressed. I don't know why but every time I see his old streams or gameplay videos it's quite evident he was less nervous and more open about everything. I don't think it's trolling that made him this way because nothing really happened. I think his relationships with Khet are not so good or/and he drinks again.
Despite his unwillingness to tell us about his personal life it's extremely weird he doesn't tell us anything. My theory is this:

A few years ago (maybe a year) Phil said he wants to refinance his loan. He said the only thing he lacks is (obviously) money. Now let's imagine that he knew he won't be able to earn so much. Then his attorney/tax gay asked him about Leanna and how marriage would improve his chances to get the approval for refinancing. He didn't want to ask Leanna to come back so he decided to find a maid. He found a girl who knew who he was and asked her to help him to go through a really hard part of his life in exchange of a place to live in Seattle. No other obligations aside from cooking. She agreed.
They met a few times in Dave's home. Eventually he told her a story about his home and how trolls destroyed his livelihood and the only thing that would help him is his loan being refinanced. She didn't need to do anything but to continue to work at her job (to increase the household income) and to marry him. She agreed. They lived together for some time to make people believe they are a couple and abruptly married in Connecticut. Phillip told his parents that she is his real wife and asked for money to pay for his house. He also showed the girl to his fans to prove it's all real and completely not a scam. Later he decided to stop doing it because she could say something weird or/and get too much attention that Phillip crave.

Facts that led me to such conclusion:
1. All their photos together are extremely awkward and the stream their made were even worse. They don't kiss or even look like people who have any feelings for one another.
2. Cat has her own office and allegedly her own bed
3. As I said before there is no stories about their interactions. They spend one day together but aside from a photo (that he could use to show his parent his new girlfriend) and arcade story there is very little information about what they are doing.
4. Jasper could live in his home for 9 months but the only reason why Phil was initially happy about his presence is he lived in Khet's room and Phil didn't interact with him. Phil didn't declawed him but chose the declawed cat because it's his home and he didn't want him to damage anything.
5. Precooked meals that she just defrosts and throws into oven.
6. Phil's depression - he knows that the loan will be refinanced so he has nothing else to do know and nothing to strive for. He is alone yet again and the only thing that brings him joy is videos with Rambo.
He's just super desperate not do die alone and to look like a mature adult. He's willing to be Khet's toy because she's the last girl he'll ever have the chance to be with. The marriage was a desperate but easily predictable act. He proposed to Panda just to make her stay even after their relationship went down the toilet and his parents have most probably been nagging him to get married and settle down. Khet (from all we know) is a white trash leech, he doesn't trust her judgement on things and doesn't trust her with responsibilities. She works [constantly changing amount] of days a week and has income enough to allegedly only pay Hulu or help with (((bills))) and plays skyrim in her ahffice in her spare time. She's not allowed to shop by herself and with the introduction of the exercise bike doesn't even go to the gym. I'd assume that every misfortune that happens in the Burnell household is Khet's fault, because Dark had nothing he could do :stress: and the bottom line is it's her fault.

Of course, there are benefits to Khet. The 'dual income' effect that Dave was bragging about, free maid and cook services and bragging rights to call himself mature.

The depression, as most things with DSP, winds down to having no money (to blow away).

Again, I don't think they are together because they are a real family. I agree that Dave is desperate but I don't see them being a family. When they were on the stream together Khet looked like he was torturing her and she was a streamer. There are no stories about her aside from how she cooks something too and he still tweets at night

It's a dated term. Somewhat similar to 'Oriental' in that in The Modern Era it can be seen as slightly derogatory but usually it just paints the user as themselves outdated and possibly bigoted.

It annoys me what an uncultured loudmouth Phil is. The PlayStation One logo sound effect sounds like Tibetan Singing Bowls, but instead we get Phil saying ' wow sounds like Asia, right? Uh huh huh, pretty cool hah?'

You know you're right! Neat. Never realized how close the boot up sound is to a singing bowl - wonder if it's intentional

The real reason is that...People give him too much credit for how "good" he is at fighting games. Hes better then someone who doesn't know the controls but he plays everything like it's ST and honestly he has some of the worst adapting skills I've seen from a "former pro fighting game player". Usually you pick up things while playing online and learn countermeasures against setups or tactics but he doesn't. He just does whatever bnb he learned and goes for tick throw setups or command grab OS's in almost every game even if they aren't advantageous and then blames lag or the game when he's hit while pressing buttons.

He's still good at baiting the Street Fighter 2 corner trap and finishing it off efficiently from there, once he's got a health bar lead, through exchanges. He's bad at getting a corner trap set up again once somebody can get out of it either through a corner leap character or they counter move out of there. He's also pretty lethal at getting spinning piledrivers off for 1/3 your life with the Russian. Speed characters give him absolute fits if you can pile special moves at him and he has trouble committing to a zone character's establishment of a projectile pattern either mentally or due to fear of being called cheap if he tries it maybe? Tough to say. Overall, he's an above average player still but if you know what his weaknesses are and have enough talent to exploit them, he'll lose his cool during a round real fast when you get a strike in on him that he feels is 'unfair' and he'll quickly press in closer to try and make it up, which opens him up even more and the cycle spirals down on him from there as he can't admit he gets outplayed.

It was when he was doing the arcade mode in each SF game on the collection where you go through each CPU opponent before fighting the boss villain (Bison or whoever). CPU beat his ass, and he started to spout off about lag before he caught himself. He's also tried to say something about "reverse lag" before...whatever the fuck that might be in his gout-addled mind.

Sega version of SFII I want to say is what you're referencing? I think the excuse included he can't really combo because this mini Genesis doesn't have the special six button controller for the game and to use kicks you have to press start and the strike button you want at the same time. Which is true and a reason why that version was considered inferior as a home port decades ago as a new release, but either you know how to compensate or you don't and the AI will feast on predictable pattern play to keep you challenged and force you to alter up your stuff. Ultimately he's playing that version effectively with one hand tied behind his back, but it was still funny to watch him struggle with the computer's impossible-to-do advancing psycho crushers were somehow walking forward is also charging the move's backwards pad press.

Ridiculous how much of a negative thing made Phil sound that Khat is staying home for a week or so

Jasper won't be able to come on stream anymore, dood! Whenever Khat's home she wants to have Jasper all for herself! It sucks! Jasper could've come and chill with us but I can't do that anymore at least for now!

Like, come on, the only entertaining thing about having Jasper walk on stream is Phil having to get up from his smelly chair and waddle to Jasper to make him stop from chewing the cables

Would the Minecraft auction be considered paying for a "product"? He either lets you name something or build something thet you request for specifically. Could you not request a refund if the "Product" is unsatisfactory?

i really don't think so, at least it wouldn't be a conventional "product" sure its a thing, and it was payed for but the buyer has no way of owning it for even a fraction of a second since they have no access to the minecraft world, they get the IDEA that they own it when in reality phil is the only one who's going to be able to play around with it if he ever felt inclined

Well it'd probably be more of a service than a product but the true issue is you'd have a hard time arguing you paid for it, I would think, because there was no transaction for that service. It's just setting up a ranking ("From highest one-time tip to lowest" - It's tip, right ? Either way, same principle) and saying that whoever is on top receives X, where X here is naming something or getting something built. And yes, it wouldn't be hard to argue that people are only tipping because of this reward, but nominally, the goal of the tip is not to get that reward, it's to tip the streamer; This reward is only an extra thrown in.

Think of it this way: Walmart says that if you buy 100$ worth of stuff in one go, you get a cutlery set, and you spot a nice TV priced at 100$, so you decide to jump on the opportunity because it also gets you the cutlery set. You can't sue Walmart for your 100$ because your cutlery set didn't come with a fork: that 100$ was the cost of that TV, you did get that TV, therefore there is nothing wrong with that particular transaction, and you can't get your money back. The only thing you could sue for is false advertising over the cutlery set - and in this case, if that wasn't seriously overblowing a Minecraft name or sculpture or whatever, and if it wouldn't be absurd to argue what is named how in some game world save and what is indeed a sculpted d#ck or not, you could sue DSP for false advertising. But this does end up with "Nah you can't sue DSP for that, mate".

Again, not a lawyer, but that's my take on this issue.

People have proven repeatedly that PayPal isn't applying the "we don't reverse tips to streamers" policy to DSP. All people are doing is claiming they asked DSP to do something and he refused.

I don't condone chargebacks but this isn't the method you're wanting to go with them.

Let's just say a VPN, incognito mode and unauthorized access to account is involved.

WHY THE FUCK DOES HE SWISH WATER AROUND LIKE AN ASSHOLE AT A WINE TASTING?! Seriously, out of all his exceptional tics, this one fascinates me the most. Why the fuck does he do that?
Bet you anything it's because he has cavities. When his mouth dries out they start to hurt, so he got in the habit of swishing it.

I'm only guessing that because a decade ago I couldn't afford to go to the dentist and I was doing that shit all the time until I got them fixed.

Shit, think about it. His 11 year legacy hasn't once included a dentist visit. That's just.. disgusting.

He works 6 days a week

That one day he has off is full of appointments

Too busy dood

If you contest it on Paypal, you will probably get your money back. Its possible for Paypal to take the loss and both you and Dave get the money, but thats dependent on a lot of factors. Streamers really are a 50/50 (no tangible product) and they will always say that they never lose.

If you chargeback through your bank, you get your money back, Dave loses the money and get hits by a $20 fee per transaction (on paypals end)

It was explained in the DSP Finance thread.

Remember guys. He can't just play the games he wants to like Mass Effect 2 because nobody would want to watch them.

On a completely different note, he apparently has $40 to spend on Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, a game that I've never heard of until I read his schedule, and looks like it has the exact same art style as his most loathed game Fortnite, made by EA which is one of his most loathed game publishers.

You have three options when it comes to addressing charge backs.

1. King of Suffering. The Wings rout. Woe is me! So many trolls do charge backs I am making no money! This would have fit Phil's narrative off trolls always hurting him and get pity money, but it also lets people know it is easy to do a charge back.

2. Tough guy. I've never lost a charge back. This might discourage people from trying but also might challenge more people to try.

3. Don't address it. This is the best strategy. It doesn't encourage more people to try it.
