Yes, I think I even heard him talk about it at a recent con, but don't remember which one.

He kept Sherman in a bucket full of water, but it was the wrong kind of water, so Sherman became really weak and was basically close to death. Vic brought him to the ocean and released him, but Sherman was too weak to swim against the waves and was washed ashore again and again. Vic then picked him up and carried him through the waves, let him gnaw on his finger one last time as a goodbye (he had no teeth) and let him go.

Damn man.

Oh my God, this godawful haircut. The old lady haircut she has now does her no favors, but before she lobbed it off, she looked like one of those backroom counselors from school you never liked attending meetings with (and not just because it was boring as fuck) because she clearly wasn't qualified for the job, but the school needed to fill in that position and she was desperate to get into the education field somehow or another. That's what she reminds me of.

As soon as I saw Robotech I knew it was going to cause a big shitshow, Macross fans are well known in their hatred for the series and HG.

I don't imagine it being a big thing for very long, but I have no idea why they bothered. On one hand you have the small but vocal Macross fanbase, on the other hand you have the small and probably disinterested Robotech fanbase. To my knowledge, the Japanese side has no real "love" for Robotech and Carl Macek is dead, so I don't see this being some kind of big "re-master" release that'll look awesome in HD, so I don't see any motivation for the existing fanbase of Robotech to buy a new version. And they're complete idiots if they expect to drag in new fans with the old school dubbing and extremely dated visuals of this show. I'm not a hater, so I don't care if it hangs around, but I don't see any way it's a big profitable release unless I'm drastically underestimating the number of 40 something neckbeards that want a re-release of this simply to replace their old SD copies with newer SD copies.

Funimation has no one to blame but themselves for this. If this happened last year, there’d be several disgruntled fans and nothing more, but between the way they treated Vic, their refusal to discipline their voice actors for behaving unprofessionally online, adding political agendas in a fucking harem cartoon, the embarrassing revelations of their “investigation” and now this, I have never seen a company expressed such contempt for their own fanbase. Every lousy negative feedback they receive will be karma for what they did this year.
