And on a personal level I got royally fucked.
InkedFavorite_18_types_3.0_LI.jpg

I get many don't care about this shit whatsoever but, I can't. This is fucking egregious. And a reminder that Kalos had more mons in it than Galar, aka the region that's poked fun at for being the most bare-bones in content.

Is anyone else pissed there’s no new Eeveelution for this generation? It’s been a tradition to add one or two new Eeveelutions for every even-numbered generation:
  • Espeon and Umbreon in Gen 2
  • Leafeon and Glaceon in Gen 4
  • Sylveon in Gen 6
I’m sad they broke the tradition because I would love to see a new Eeveelution. There are still so many types that have gone unused.

Also, I’m disappointed by the selection, but my favorites (Growlithe, Arcanine, and the Eeveelutions) made the cut so I can’t be too mad. There are still some that I love who were cut, though.
there will probably never be another one.

So this revelation that the PokéDex truly only includes 400 Pokémon, one starter line and a bunch of weird choices has gotten everything burning up, or at least, I was told /r/Pokémon is on fire, so I decided to check, and oh boy (Archive).

And this is just the first page. Game Freak really fucked up. /vp/ is at its usual.

I didn't do too bad, can still make a decent all bird team with Mandibuzz, Corviknight, Cramorant, Sirfetch'd, Togekiss, and Sigilyph, but a Ground type burrowing owl Hoothoot line would be superb.

Eh I'm cool with Porygon not making the cut, GTS fags asking for dumb shit just for a lvl 1 porygon2 was annoying as hell.

No Tapus?!

Thank god. Tapu Koko rain teams were a fucking nightmare. Stall teams might actually be usable again without Tapu Fini as well. Don't know if it's popular opinion or not, but if they end up cutting megas too, I'd be onboard for that. I think Megas are cool and all, but they made casual playthroughs too easy and they ruined competitive play.

One of most surprising cuts is the Chansey line though. I thought Chansey was fairly popular with fans. I know it 's going to have huge implications on the competitive scene. Chansey/Blissey have been staples for over 20 years and now they're just gone. Brave new world were living in.

Despite losing some of my favorites, I'm not too bummed out about it. Really wish they added a new Eeveelution, though.

Edit: Can't believe I forgot Braviary was my actual favorite Flying-type pokemon, and not Skarmory.

Not sure if your counting it as the line, but international Meowth doesn't evolve, and Galarian evolves into Perserker. Persian is on the cutting room floor.

Though, that's the list that's on the cart. I wouldn't be surprised if more made it in with patches. We could be getting the dreaded DLC content gate, but I'd guess there is more legendaries, and some batches of more Pokemon that'll be patched in. Like, monthly or biweekly special Dynamax raids that add new Pokemon to the line up, as well as something to promote Pokemon Home next year.

It's on the list, though.

Oh huh, you know I guess you probably can breed it to get a regular international Meowth.

Has there been any analysis on a region being underrepresented? That's sometimes a hint to future content. I'd rather have paid DLC than another USUM, and I'm not to keen on a Sinnoh remake.

Anyone hear anything over the Dexit tears about how robust the post-game is?

This is what is floating around. Take it with a grain of salt because of the spelling errors.

The cuts hit a lot of my favorite Pokemon and I'm actually really bummed about that. I'm not a big "collector" type so I'm fairly attached the 'Mons I do pick out and seeing almost all of them get the axe actually kind of hurts.

I know there's going to be a lot of downplaying about how much people actually care, but people*DO* care and speaking for myself, as someone who's not into the new Pokemon designs this Generation, I've almost no incentive to pick up the game.

Which would be one thing if the pool wasn't at least gargantuan a la X/Y, which had such an abundance of choices that cuts didn't really matter. But no, the roster is pretty small all thing considered and the fact that I can't even *eventually* transfer them over is a bit of a slap to the face.

I have a sneaking suspicion we may be able to down the road, for a price. No not DLC, GF never does those, but I wouldn't put it past them to shove all the dead mons into Gun version or Sinnoh remakes and try to pass it off as this "new revolutionary feature" that you can have every single Pokemon in one game.

They've already forced you to buy newer games of a generation in order to access new megas and even entirely new mons (the USUM-exclusive Ultra Beasts) because they don't patch the previous game to read the new data (why would they, that would remove the incentive of buying the newer versions), so to suggest they'd stoop even lower and hold plain older mons hostage in the same fashion is not even remotely a stretch.

Someone on Reddit looked back at a top 100 Pokémon popularity poll that was done in Japan a few years ago. Of those 100 Pokémon, only 23 made the cut here.

But hey, we got such fan-favorites as Shuckle, Woobat, and Stunfisk! Those are way more beloved than the starters, right?

Oh god these games are a moving train wreak
66% of the dex cut, for some reason including the elemental monkeys in galar, all the new designs are mostly shit like this

Legit what was game freak thinking
this will be panned harder then Black and White was
they should of waited for a larger install base before pulling this shit

Yup and everyone remembers the popular Delibird, Whiscash, Barbaracle, Qwilfish, Basculin (it has 2 forms!), Maractus, and Bergmite/Avalugg. Also out all of the gen 1 pokemon we got Goldeen/Seaking. What a shit show.... Now that people realize they won't actually get to see the Pokemon they like, it's going full nuclear meltdown. Luckily Japan is familiar with nuclear meltdowns.
