How will Bob react to seeing the Mario film?

To be fair, Bob's sperging has never been Jack's responsibility. The others, while not exactly their responsibility outside of the argument of representation, did say their piece with a slip of pink paper.

Yeah, slagging on Jack isn't really fair, but c'mon, if you hitch your wagon to the braying jackass what am Bob Chipman, I don't think it's unreasonable to address peoples' discomfort with his genocidal caterwauling with something more substantive than "Fuck off."

As for the other places, the Escapist took him back, and shows no signs of rethinking that decision, although he's arguably even worse now on Twitter than he was back then.

Didn't Russ Pitts rehire Bob just as a way of getting back at some other higher up?

I'm not sure what you mean by that. Appalachia is full of meth labs and drug abusers. Far more than Bob's neighbourhood in Boston.

True, but both Appalachia and the cities in California have the same basic root problem and that's due to a lack of either laws that protect the quality of life or the lack of enforcement of said laws. Also, both regions are wracked with massive rates of corruption at the local level and extreme economic disparities.

Of course, Bob doesn't leave his little Boston suburb and probably hasn't been outside of Massachusetts in a long time, so he's probably convinced that California is a wealthy and posh lefty paradise and that Deliverance was a documentary on Appalachian culture that was filmed in real time.

Personally, I'd love to see someone take Bob on a road trip to rural Appalachia and film the whole thing, show him around and have him interact with the locals and let the fun begin.

Oddly enough, there's actually a chain of gaming stores that is exclusive to the Appalachian region that Bob would probably love.

G2K Games is primarily based in the coal mining regions of Southwestern Virginia, with stores in Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, and West Virginia, and they sell both modern games and retro games. The mother chapter in Wise, Virginia has a lot of old games and consoles and Nintendo merch the last time I visited.

The very second ANYTHING happens to his nieces, Bob will go full genocidal. I want to add in that I do not want anything like that to happen to any child regardless of their familial relations. I've got a sneaking suspicion that those girls are one of the, if not the, bright spot in his life.
We've seen him giddily brag about the presents he's bought them. He never posts pictures of them or named them that I'm aware of, which is a good thing to do with any children (if that's why you're doing it then good on you Bob). He got, what I thought, uncharacteristically angry when some rando, anon chode came into his feed laughing about how his nieces were going to grow up to be drug addled whores in an embarrassing attempt to get blocked. Now put on your tin foil hats boys, what if, just what if when he wore that stupid Nintendo blazer for Easter he wore that ridiculous thing in some attempt to look silly for them? I know he can't dress himself and occam's razor and all that, but there's at least the possibility. He hasn't been seen wearing that $200+ jacket since.
So in the scenario, if peaceful Asians were to set up their own Little Miss Manners squad and Bob's nieces got "recruited", he may not take to the streets but he will go full keyboard warrior, SS division, and straight out call for death and dismemberment. The real question, again in this scenario, is if Bob will break ranks and go after all the Mohammads or will he not be able to get shook off his script and continue to go after those Mayonnaise ghouls and GOPs that allowed that to happen?

I don't know if I fully buy this just because I don't believe that he really cares about them. Or at least for the right reasons. I've always gotten the impression he cares about them now because they are still children. Once they start to grow up and expand their minds past the level that their uncle is stuck at, do you not think he's going to stop caring about what is going on with their lives?

I really want to say that he's going to make excuses for them refusing to follow the party-line, but it's really more likely he will scorn them.

That's fair. I have to believe that he does care for them because the alternative just makes him comically shallow/vile. I wouldn't put it past Bob to use them as a way to stay in good graces with his family at this point but I'd personally like more evidence of such chicanery. I suppose only time will tell.

Nah, the Melon manages to actually be entertaining and isn't a foaming-at-the-mouth psycho like Bob.

I agree with both of you. Bob cares for them on a basic mammalian level, and Chip is probably the only person he's ever been close with in his entire life. He gets to be funny Uncle Bobby pointing to every Mario character on his stupid jacket regaling them with the backstory of each character. He's not clever enough to pretend to care for them. And as long as these children remain on the "right side of history" everything will be Peachy, which wouldn't be out of the ordinary given they are from a liberal family, from a liberal city, in a liberal state.

The funny irony would be if Uncle Bobby becomes the stereotypical "crazy old racist uncle that embarrasses you at every family gathering". We are witnessing his mental destabilization in real time. He is detrimentally stubborn and opinionated. Apparently, younger people are swinging more conservative, and given that teens rebel against their elders, and as they get older and use the internet and find out how fucking crazy he is, what if his nieces are like, "Whatever, Uncle Bob, there are only two genders. Also, Mario was never from Brooklyn".

I'm in the camp that Bob has no real convictions. He'll adopt any "right side of history" that is popular at the moment. And if they conflict with one another, he'll create mental pretzels to explain why they don't conflict, and he's still right. When his nieces are in their young adult years, Bob is going to age out of any online relevance and have zero marketable job skills. His lower middle class neighborhood will be overrun by poor proud POCs. He'll need someone to take care of him.

I don't know his nieces, I don't know much about Chip, and I know absolutely nothing about Chip's wife. I think that what you said about the nieces becoming conservatives would be funny to watch, but very unlikely. I don't know much about how girls mentally change as they age and there might be some great changes in America and the internet in the next 20 years, but I think that it's most likely that they will inherit the beliefs of those around them. I also kinda think that girls that come from liberal backgrounds are less likely to become conservatives than boys raised in the same situation.

As for your last paragraph, it got me thinking. You know what would be a better idea for a poll than determining Bob's most retarded ideas? Trying to predict Bob's fate. It's kinda morbid, but I can't help, but think about what would happen to someone like Bob as they age into a world that they have no place in and cannot contribute to.

He did post a picture of him hugging one of his nieces (not sure how old the kid is, could be anywhere from 4-7) and holding her over his shoulder at his brother's house. But since her back is to the camera she cannot be facially identified. I think it's earlier in this massive thread, but I forget when. Some holiday/family gathering, probably easter.

Bobby needs to bust his ass less: no one asked for a 4-hour "review" of Batman vs Superman.

That reminds me, where does Mario come from? Is he a citizen of the Mushroom Kingdom, or what?
Yoshi's Island says yes. They are literally delivered via stork to loving parents.

But it offends Bob because it makes his favorite cartoons non-canon, and that means no sassy redhead Toadstool, no mermaid Toads, no faceless Indiana Jones rip-offs...

Huh. Always thought they were some random dudes who somehow crossed to the Mushroom Kingdom. Guess I learned something new today.

If you don't like Kiwi Farms' maymays, don't consoom them, Chris.

Also, stop begging where the world can see you. Jesus Christ.

Marvel is just the largest and most prominent example of this problem and Bob is sadly far from alone in this. People who have no strong principles, moral values, spiritual beliefs, or connection to their heritage tying their whole identity to their status as consumers of brand name products. It's also why Last Jedi stans are so obsessed. Star Wars or Marvel isn't just a fictional series of stories to them, it's their tribe, their family. Ironic that a trait so capitalist cyberpunk dystopian is so prominent among self declared anti-capitalists.
That would also explain the emotionalism around politics, since political beliefs take on a deep part of their identity.

I can understand Chris Chipman wanting to stick his neck out for his family. It's honorable, even. But he's got way more to lose by tying his name to someone who's a #moonrocks tweet away from trending on Twitter than... the guy who's a #moonrocks tweet away from trending on Twitter.

Seriously Chris, walk away. You'll be a blip on our radar at best.
