I thought it was going to be very small selected screenings to build hype, and we'd get some early confirmations of leaks, instead it's just a fan event?
The Japan event may have been a bust, but we still have the supposed and disappointing test screening of the 3 film cuts of Plan 9. So we may get some spoilers.
Rise of Skywalker test screenings did occur according to two new sources, and these screenings were disasters! I previously reported a rumor regarding test s...

Also the TV Spot I talked about finally got posted on Youtube.
Its just emotional clickbait by having 3PO talk to his "friends". Also the way Oscar Isaac acts in this scene with 3PO is so flat and lifeless that you can tell there's no real chemistry between him and these old characters.
The comments are pure gold too.

In other news:
1: We get our first look at the lit surface of the Death Star Destroyers... They're just regular Star Destroyers with red paint on the sides and Death Star cannons at the bottom.
Wow. Such visionary ship designs. All new ship designs are rejected for shitty rehashes of older ships that make no sense (like X-Wings with turbines that cut in half for no reason), with almost no technological progress in 30 years, while in the same time, countless species that should be on par with humans and would take millions of years to evolve or disappear just suddenly vanished and get replaced with lamer and uglier copies.
2: Daisy Ridley and JJ won't shut up about Kylo and Rey's relationship. I can only assume that the higher ups are forcing them to tease this despite previously denying it since they realize that's the only reason the Twilight-tie drones want to watch this shit. This is Star Wars now. ITS FUCKING TWILIGHT.
They've even created more scenes for IX for the sole purpose of having these two interact more with plenty of "passionate" tension. Give me a fucking break you clowns.
3: Entertainment Weekly wants you to go see Plan 9 by making you member when you liked Star Wars with some pointless nostalgia. Member when you like Star Wars? Member Luke? Member Maul? Member R2? MEMBER!? GO SEE IX AND MEMBER!
In the same magazine, Kennedy talks about the future of Star Wars.
Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy discusses the challenges of moving the franchise forward, George Lucas’ criticism, and much more

Kennedy talks about George's disappointment with Disney shit and claims she "understands" but that she had to let JJ do what he wanted, so she's subtly blaming the divergence from previous lore on JJ and "subtly" throwing him under the bus... And also pretending that nothing is wrong...

Personally, I’ve had a relationship with George going back to all of us meeting before making Raiders of the Lost Ark. So this is a long, 35-plus years that I’ve known George, and I continue to be very, very good friends with George. And I think there’s plenty of examples where people create something that is fundamental to who they are, where it’s difficult letting go and watching that become something different. So I think initially, that was difficult for George — I don’t think he anticipated how hard that would be. And J.J. came into it with such enthusiasm and, frankly, reverence for Star Wars and for George, and had to find what was personal for him. He had to make it his own. Every director who comes into a movie has to make something their own; they have to find themselves in the storytelling. And then that’s going to become a different point of view. And I think that’s all George was reacting to.
He may not agree with every choice J.J. made. He may not agree with every choice Rian made. But he appreciates the filmmaking. That I know. And he so appreciates, for instance, what ILM [Industrial Light & Magic, Lucasfilm’s visual-effects arm] has done in the work of these movies. I mean, that’s a company he created. And he just continually tells me how astounded he is by how far things have come and how, now, whatever comes into your mind can be achieved. And he came down, for instance, on The Mandalorian to see what we were doing — he’s worked a long time with [director] Dave Filoni. And he’s known [series creator] Jon [Favreau]. And he was just like a little kid on that set when he was watching what we were doing. So I see him get caught up in this again, and I think there’s a little bit of regret that he’s not on the stage and directing movies and in it still. And that may filter into it as well. I can’t really speak on behalf of what George is feeling all the time. But I know that he’s very, very proud of what he created. And to see people go on and enjoy this now into almost 2020 is pretty remarkable.
Whether its true or not, its definitely possible, especially when concerning an interview with JJ from a few years ago where he talked about why he wanted to remove the podracing flags from TFA, why he didn't use George's original treatment, why he just made shittier knockoffs of Jaina and Jacen/Revan and why he didn't want Luke around to upstage Rey, saying he wanted to make his own things. Hence why all we get is donut steal shit and lore rape for the sake of JJ's own unoriginal and aimless vision. And also why IX just feels like fanfiction that's a worse donut steal version of Dark Empire.
"I'd rather come up with our stuff" - Jar Jar Abrams
That's actually what he said. So whether JJ is taking the fall for Kennedy or he really is at fault for everything (which I'm inclined to believe), I think everyone can agree that this was a team effort from all the idiots at Lucasfilm and Mr. Iger. And the canon retcon and the trove of awful new material releases like Wendig's terrible books, Hidalgo and Paul S. Kemp going full woke and Disney handing over game rights to EA, all coincide with the moment JJ came on board and TFA went into production in 2013.
