Colt went to Atlanta to spend Thanksgiving with Dad (no mention of Mom). I guess this means that Dad isn't still working actively in Chicago and pulling strings to keep getting her into housing.
I think the "Colt is an exceptional individual and thus gets priority for housing due to exploitation of vulnerable populations" theory is the winner here. I have no problem with this, personally, I just wish they could find a way to keep her with a tard wrangler for a longer period of time and get her into some kind of work program. And I agree that it is annoying as hell to watch her cavalierly blow off her opportunities. But letting tards just live on the street isn't a great solution either. Like Russell Greer, she knows how to copy memes, copy-and-paste text from smarter people, and outright steal posts from the Internet to make her look a little smarter than she really is. But she is really, really limited, in my opinion.

On the positive side, Colt does separate herself from the bottom rung of Ratking types (imagine being below Colt) by showing gratitude, optimism and actual engagement with other human beings. She also does try and work. FYI: I did look for her on Chicago Rover with no luck. She must be getting some decent reviews if she gets repeat business. I don't want to be the "Colt apologist", but the words "I will work hard so I have more money to take care of myself" are seldom uttered by lolcows. It's really not their thing. She also volunteers and tries to help people, which is also an alien concept to most of the self-absorbed Ratking (examples: Luke Lockhart, Violet Hargrave, and Terra).
Here's some data for our Chicago triangulation/location experts. Colt has a new place. It doesn't look as nice as her last place, so maybe there is a little justice here, and the consequence for bailing is to drop in quality of accomodations, even if you are exceptional?
For anyone wondering whether One Northside is a legit org that Colt glommed onto or a group of exceptional individuals from the get-go... well, here is your answer. They celebrate her, rather than downplay the connection, and actually consider her their Mental Health Justice leader!

She's horribly out of shape, and has sadly, shortened her own life-span. I'm sure standing up, gravity and T shirts make their way into something more presentable.
As my hero and spirit animal @Von Wolf Demon noted, Colt does not have all of the same beliefs as typical troons and shows some degree of attempted self-betterment. I've posted this before, but I'm quietly rooting for Colt to get her shit together enough that she falls off of the Kiwi-Radar.

I don't mind Colt at all. He never seems to be deliberately malicious, unlike the rest of the Rat King. And if he really is mentally ill, which is indisputable, and of low intelligence, which seems very likely, he's not as much to blame for his actions as a normal would be. In an ideal world he'd be closely supervised and under care instead of being encouraged to lop of his tits and take hormones.
I'm sure he's a nightmare to deal with as a romantic partner or a roommate or coworker, but I don't think it's deliberate. That goes a long way, in the Rat King community, since so many of them are also nightmares to deal with, and malicious on top of everything else.

She seems to really love animals, so I'm sure she cares for them. The only reason I can think she'd get bad reviews is if she posted more personal pictures of the place she sits at (specifically photos of valuables).
I actually think she may be legitimately trying to improve herself. Maybe she's finally realized that what her actions have consequences. That being said...
My issue with Colt is that she doesn't (or didn't) realize the problem lies with her. It was always everyone else's fault. She ignored that she was the common denominator in the dissolution of every relationship she had, romantic or otherwise. It also pissed me off that she was making almost no effort to improve herself. She would abandon extremely cheap housing at the drop of a hat for people she'd never met and wouldn't even last 2 weeks, and did this multiple times, and STILL got more, despite having no desire to really get back on her feet. She never made any implications that she cared to even get a GED, let alone try to get a job beyond Rover, or hell, go to trade school or something (which she could likely attend for free because of financial aid). I am all for people trying to improve themselves and using whatever resources they can for that, and if she is doing that I'm rooting for her, but I've seen no evidence until now that she wanted to improve and didn't just want to skate by on the Illinois taxpayers' dime. Even now the evidence is somewhat circumstantial.

I dunno, the haste with which she rushes to bad-mouth anyone and everyone who she thinks has done her wrong, especially establishments like COH which have been more accepting of her bullshit than almost anyone else... It doesn't so much suggest malice, but definitely an eagerness to lash out the moment things don't go her way.
And she talks a big game about trying to improve, yet somehow never actually does even while being given so many chances to do so. I have a little sympathy since she's likely mentally deficient as well as mentally ill, but that doesn't stop her from being a lolcow and a drain on every person and service around her.
Maybe she'll get her shit together. It'd be nice to not see that smug smile and bare chest selfies ever again. But I'm not at all holding my breath, considering every thing she looks at fixing her life with gets dropped anywhere between 1 day and 6 months after she starts it.

Yeah, I'd like to see her get it together because she's maturing mentally and learning from her accruing life experience, but I'm not convinced that she has the raw material in her head to do that.

That's the BPD talking. Her unstable sense of self cannot handle any rejection, ever. Any failure, setback, or even being told "no" moves something or someone into the enemy category, and she's off and running again in search of more affirmation, like a drug addict frantically trying to scrape together money for their next hit.
This is also why she fits in so well with the Rat King. In the above simile, they are the dealers, dispatching all of the approval and acceptance Laura could ever want--as long as she keeps toeing the party line. But I think they day will come when they turn on her too, because if there's one thing that troon perma-victims hate, it's seeing someone succeed. And on that day, Laura is going to look down at herself and be absolutely consumed with regret.

Yeah, my opinion on Colt changed a lot when I realized that she was basically just a big, stupid dog. Can't really take care of herself, easily led by people who seem to be nice to her, gobbling up resources without really providing anything in return. But ultimately she intends to be harmless, and just like a dog knocking over your expensive vase and piddling the floor, a lot of the harm she does is a consequence of the fact that she has no real theory of mind or grasp of the world around her.
None of that excuses her dumb shit, but I have a hard time really disliking her and, like someone else said, I would be happy to see her succeed. The problem is that her version of success is so transient that she can never truly attain it, and actual success would be an authority figure convincing her to go into a home where other people can take care of her.

Dogs provide valuable companionship, and sometimes security and other labor. Unless she's changed her interactions with other people in a way that I'm unaware of, Laura is horrible companion.
The way she treats people who try to help her is why I dislike her.

Yeah, I am very mixed about her. She can seem very likable and decent for a while then starts griping about programs that go out of their way to help her.
However, I think we should remember how she came to be a lolcow in the first place. Terra Jones. When she was first noticed, I think she was perceived as being equally awful as Terra. Over time, though, I think it becomes apparent that Terra is a straight up predator and Colt was his prey. Terra is a disgusting asshole who is getting dumber over time, but he is still operating at a higher IQ level than Colt and saw someone who can easily be manipulated. Colt is awful, but at least she is not a blatant predator... just a mooch.
The only reason to keep tracking her, though, is the amazing "I'm leaving after two weeks to get a new start with a new love and bail on my public housing.... now I'm back and housing challenged!" story arcs. A Colt that lives in one town, with one job, at one apartment, and just accepts that Chicago is about as good as someone like her is going to do, will be a very boring Colt indeed. But if a cow gets their shit together, I would root for them rather than just hoping for more m1lk and this thread can die as far as I'm concerned. It is a world full of lolcows, we are in no danger of running out any time soon.

I recall a study that found that something like 60% of troons have naracistic personallity disorders, im sure its been said many times in this thread but its probably a good explanation for Laura's behaviour. As for the the devolpmental issues, I think that might be her desperate attempt to regress to a childlike state in the hopes that their adult duties might deminish. The act of drawing something a 5 year old would be pleased with is a really sad form of escapism.
