The more I've thought of it, the more I think Justice Black was not simplifying but merely saying something true when he said what "Congress shall make no law" in the First Amendment means is quite simply "Congress shall make no law." Well if it makes you people happy, it seems that Gab is going to go full Tumblr and that is by banning NSFW content from their platform in all with the possibly Twitter going down the same path too.

So I've been browsing through the Tweets regarding Andrew Torba's recent dumbass moral crusade against porn; it's hilarious to see this guy be all for 'free speech' and also cries about how big tech is censoring people like him and yet he is doing the exact same thing as the big tech companies too. It seems that people that are actually all for free speech have really gotten under his skin because he's just now Tweeting and Retweeting posts about how porn needs to be banned from the Internet because of his own dumbass personal moral beliefs. So with all of this now in mind and if it hasen't been said already, Gab is pretty much a hugbox filled with religious fundamentalists, trailer trash white supremacists, and delusional groypers that try too hard to LARP as Roman Catholic crusaders that keep white knighting for Andrew Torba too.

So in conclusion, Gab just sucks since Andrew Torba is pretty much another dumbass with the 'free speech of me but not for thee' mentality too.

Because religion then still largely dominated society back then. I mean here's another thing that used to be acceptable by organized religion long before the Age of Enlightenment; slavery.

The Abamamic religions all had rules on how to treat slaves and this was an acceptable practice until people looked at this and realize how fucked up it all was and the same can be said with stoning, flogging, and honor killings too.

Want to know another funny thing about the foundation of the United States? The founders never established a state religion to begin with because even they knew how oppressive a state can be because religion historically was used by a government to oppress those that they didn't like that much also (the Roman persecution of Christians, the Babylonian invasion of the Israelites, the Spanish Inquisition, the infamous medieval witch hunts really all come to mind).
