TGWTG Allison Pregler / Obscurus Lupa / Movie Nights - The vindictive leader of #ChangeTheChannel, GOTIS personified, vendetta against The Cinema Snob

I remember back in the Channel Awesome days they were trying to sell her as "the hot chick". Boy, have times changed. TBH, I wouldn't be surprised if her Rob-Zombie-flick-truck-stop-clown-hooker look is her "rebelling" against the evil, objectifying, patriarchal attention she suffered and got views from... five years ago. When CTC started she still looked relatively normal. Then over the past year I guess she's gotten desperate.

Her content was genuinely better in her Lupa days. She is just dull now. Also her skin looks like someone took a cheese grater to it.

Allison with Lupa, Lindsay with the Chick, everything about the anniversaries, ex producers seem to really have a burning desire to just torch the CA past instead of just letting it die on its own.

fuckin' hell, I haven't seen a pic of her in years and she looks like shit. lmao

They're bitter about what they see as a waste of time because they aren't rich and successful off of those endeavors, rather than realizing that the only reason anyone knows them is because of those things. Except Lindsay built herself something that could sustain itself without Doug. Allison never did.

You know? I would love to hear Doug, Rob, et al give their honest thoughts on Alison, Lindsey, and the rest nowadays. They went pretty hush hush pretty quickly after their first blunder of a response, and I haven't heard Doug say a word about it at all.

But really, it would be like the funniest thing Doug would ever do, especially if he's super blunt about it.

"So Doug, we're going to do some word associations. We'll just say a name and you say the first word that comes to mind. First, Alison Pregler"

Doug: "Cunt"

"Lindsey Ellis"

Doug: "Fat Cunt"

"Kaylyn Saucedo"

Doug: "Who?"

"Marzgurl"

Doug: "Oh....Cunt"

"Lewis Lovhaug"

Doug: "Appropriate last name"

The CTC people are such crybabies that I actually side with Doug, Rob, and Brad. Not that I like those three guys, but holy shit, the CTC people won't shut up.

I love how the CTC document was essentially criticizing Doug for having this massive ego and how he was delusional about the type of films he was making. Yet, the CTC people bitched about how there wasn't professional, decked out catering and bitched about how "their characters" were written. If you're going to be in some shitty internet movie, then why care so much about the "writing." lol. Seems like these people were just as delusional about the quality of film they were making. Battle of the egos, much?

The CTC people are just as delusional and egotistical as Channel Awesome. Everyone is exceptional here ... It's just that now I find the CTC people more exceptional because they just won't let it go. It's an obvious attempt to stay relevant, without possessing the self awareness that they are STILL utilizing Channel Awesome as a means to get their name out there. It's hilarious.

And I second the notion that Lupa must have taken a cheese grater to her face. I cannot believe she isn't even 30 yet. Jesus Christ, what a wall she must have hit.

I don’t think it was professional catering they wanted as much as basic things that even a student film would know to provide, even if catering is pizza, bagels, or one of those giant sandwiches. The only real displays of ego I’ve seen were Linkara comparing his audio drama to the canceled tenth anniversary to paint himself as a better director than Doug, and Lindsay bitching that her advice and know how was ignored despite her being one of the few who actually went to film school. Ed Glaser had that same complaint apparently.

Part of the problem is CA was big back when people believed they were making viable alternatives to the big media offerings. The promise of the Internet was that parallel institutions could spring up, content would be democratized, and an entire generation would accept amateur productions with the same excitement as professional ones.

You didn't need to get hired by a newspaper to do your reviews, you could just use the Internet! You don't need to watch cable TV, you can watch YouTube or Blip wow ! YouTube was just starting up its own home-grown TV shows, portal websites with ads were still viable, and crowdfunding was going to bridge the financial gap to allow amateur creators to generate professional projects.

And then the smaller platforms shut down, social media killed portals sites, Google+Facebook established the ad revenue duopoly, crowdfunding hit audience limits, and the Adpocalypse hit YouTube. And all the big players started releasing their streaming services, competing with the amateurs in the cable-cutting space of their audience demographics.

The CA movies were an attempt to make "big budget" productions on an amateur budget. They would never cut it for a general audience, but if you leveraged the existing audiences of multiple creators, you could have a huge "hit" relative to what others were putting out.

The inexperience problem was self-explanatory, but the delusions of grandeur weren't individual; they were part of the scene. It was an atmosphere of general optimism, before the last bits of the Internet got corporatized, sanitized, and (de-)monetized. These were the people who followed the millennial advice to "build your brand", as if it was the new road to fame and fortune.

Doug should have provided pizza, sure. But the catering oversight should have clued them in that they were not on a big movie set, that the business of movie-making might be different from the art of movie-making. When you find yourself doing amateur work, you accept amateur standards. Complaining that you expected better is just cognitive dissonance.

Which brings us back to Allison here. She had a niche, and that niche found an audience. But she did not have the chops to compete with the corporate productions she was critiquing. And she never had a business plan beyond "get e-famous". Now she's just flailing at the past, in more ways than one, and looking worse each time she does it.

That's fair ... Though, if that were me, and I had to pay for myself for all of my other expenses (like traveling, hotel, etc.), then I would have had the common sense to take care of my own food as well personally. Not that Doug and Rob should have done what they did, but I think the tone had been set.

Nobody on the set thought to call for pizza delivery? They just sat there starving, wondering where the food was without saying much at all? Speak up when things like that happen! DO something about it! Don't wait until a decade later in some "document" to paint a picture of victimhood for yourself.

What a bunch of adult children.

I have no sympathy for CTC because of their complete hypocrisy on the JewWario sexual assault scandal, which was the only real part of the whole thing that wasn't completely petty. Some of them knew, tried to hide it, then when it got out anyway they tried to exploit it as ammo for their autism war against Doug, Rob, and Mike for "sheltering abusers." But everyone who was involved in CTC that had already known, said nothing, and tried to keep it hidden was given a pass because they were playing for the right team. None of them called out Holly, Lindsay, or Olson, who had known for a long time, or Allison who had kept it out of the document because she "lost the email."

It makes you wonder if CTC would have succeeded in its endeavors If JW wasn’t outed as what he was.
