The worst thing about those posts in my opinion is that they had to go with the "hurr durr muh primitive polyamory" thing. That's a trope in sociology based on a fraudulent book written by a woman who went to Polynesia to cheat on her husband, and justified it retroactively by saying adultery was normal in their society... Well, it's not. Primitive society is almost always monogamous (or polygamous for chiefs but with no sex allowed outside of the harem), and adultery was punished with death nearly worldwide before the modern day.I remember seeing that a few hundred pages back when people were wondering who the fuck Vi was, and I think it illustrates a major problem with the way "woke" writers execute their craft.
I keep seeing posts on other sites about how to world build "properly" that come across as complete nonsense. It's stuff like "How does this society handle disability?" Or "Who controls the wealth in this society?" It comes across as completely irrelevant at best and outright propagandist at worst.
Instead of having worldbuilding where the reader slowly gets to learn about the history of a setting through osmosis, we now get to understand the menstrual cycles and beauty products used by a character we don't like on a planet we don't care about.
All of their ideology is based on fake and gay shit from the 70s that even academia has thrown out. They're a social movement that's the equivalent of the panda bear: destined for extinction and kept alive only by the most alert and nurturing care of a system that needs them.
