DarksydePhil / TheyCallMeDSP / Phil Burnell - General Discussion

I reckon Rambo had already betrayed Phil in his own twisted headspace before he tucked tail and ran away from darksydemom's influence across the country. Rambo developed a personal and creative relationship with OJ (Other John) and here was a guy whose character felt like the antithesis to that of dipshitphil's. OJ fully embraced his inner nerd, dressed and sort of acted like Stewart from Beavis and Butthead wheras Phil has to this day continued to deny all his own inner faggotry (it escapes of course; but the pigdog doth try) where in lieu of views views views and money money money, he's still the alpha chad in his own head in 2019; with an actual living being as a wife and a famiy unit to protect with an imaginext Fisher Price axe behind the door.

The Dream of Project 7 was supplanted by John and OJ's own original lo-fi, built for fun not so we can beg for funds superhero series Schnozman and Hole Punch (which you can still buy on bluray) while John would go on to write and perform original music on his own channel. What a novelty both John and OJ acually produced their own original kahntent instead of relying on the work of others to form a body of work one could (with the right application of polskitaliano ego) describe as some kind of "legacy". It didn't really matter that it wasn't successful in the traditional sense, it would still be perceived as a sleight against the video spamming juggernaut who I'm quite sure when asked about the pair's show stated that he just didn't have the time to watch it as a fulltime yootoober.

I don't consider the whole Let's Play/Streaming scene entirely parasitic in nature but let's just say the supposed JAHB of playin' vidya poorly with the king on the internet for money is the perfect foil for an insipid lazy fuck like Phil Burnell.. and it's no surprise that even his best friend found a better partner to have actual fun with when measured up to Phil's singularly focused approach (need for attention) couch co-op or die hangout routine

Rambo betrayed Phil by having a life of his own outside Phil's own empire of autism. Die, Schnozman, Die!
Actually in this clip Phil says he just got finished watching the final episode of 'Schnozman and Hole Punch' and calls it 'the greatest independently created series, one of the best independently shot things I've ever seen in my life,' and 'better than my content', and tells everyone to check it out.
Phil thinks John Rambo isn't responding to him publicly on Twitter or DMs because he's tired after creating the final episode and needs his rest. It's certainly not because the only reason Phil contacts him is to do videos. Phil is a mature adult though, he ends the segment by saying he's going to give John Rambo his space and not pester him, and it's on 'his shoulders' to contact Phil. . .when he wants to do more videos.
I came across this 'Where's John Rambo?' clip a few days ago looking for the speeding ticket rant in Phil's video shit-pile and it made me laugh, classic DSP with statements like, "I'm very honestly gonna tell ya. .[Covers face, lip smack]. .I'm very honestly gonna tell ya. .[Rants about something else entirely]". It's basically Phil pretending his audience asking him about the next episode of 'Smark Guys' is somehow bothering John Rambo and to leave John alone about it, which really meant 'leave me alone about it', plus Phil's Narc delusions about why John is ignoring him (John's tired, he needs his rest. I did nothing wrong!). Timestamped 16m58s

The whole "Phil only talked to Rambo when he wanted to make videos" isn't completely true. From the Rambo and Howard podcast, this was a big part of the problem. But remember they both said they received really weird texts in the middle of the night and they sounded like Phil was drunk. They don't elaborate, so we will have to use our imaginations as to what a blacked out lonely Phil would text his man crush at 3:00 am. Apparently the messages were weird enough that they just stopped reading them.

I think that was all the same thing. Remember phil drunk texting them at 3AM would only be midnight his time.

I read it as dark was only texting them about videos late at night, which was even later for them and thus more annoying which would perfectly explain why they wouldn’t respond to him.

I always took it as dark legit just not being considerate and realizing he’s bugging people at night in a later time zone, which also sounds like some ignorant shit he would do lol

I've seen posts on the Shoryuken fighting game forums talking about DSP ditching tournaments to play video games as early as 2013. Once the YouTube money started coming in he really abandoned everything else except wrestling and spending money.

Oh yeah he had videos on his original and/or vlahgz channel where he took his console and a copy of Dragon Age (2?) with him to a hotel where he was staying while attending a Street Fighter tournament. It's almost as if he knew for a fact that after travelling for hours that he was going to squirrel away in there and avoid the event or something. Why else would you bring a chunky console with you and not even pack Street Fighter 4 so you could invite other players in for casual matches. He made the excuse in one of the videos in the hotel room that he was just way too into the game to care about competing and instead spent the entire weekend on Dragon Age.

Nothing that insidious, Hassan has a history of protecting his favored partners. Twitch has a pretty notorious history of letting streamers get away with whatever. Even when they do step in, it tends to be with warnings and temp bans. Pretty much the only ways they seriously step in is if something goes mainstream and they need to take action as a PR move, a bigger streamer/partner appeals to Twitch directly or if there's potential legal issues if they don't. The first two are taken a little more seriously but might still just result in temp stuff. If there's a legal thing...eh, probably just a warning unless you repeatedly do it.

I'd guess Hassan isn't even that big of a DSP fan. If he were, I think Phil would get more opportunities from Twitch and wouldn't be banned from the bounty program. All the people sperging at him about it will probably just make him want to keep Phil around out of spite. That's just largely based on what I've heard about the dude from other posts here though. I'm guessing he'd throw Phil under the bus if it came down to it, but I don't see a scenario like that occurring unless DSP is somehow able to gain some internet notoriety again, which seems very unlikely.
Livestream Fails does a good job of highlighting Twitch's bs, better chance than Hassan. Occasionally Dave gets on there but its very rare

I remember seeing it through tevin vision. He thought its a meme.

I saw it on Tevin's stream as well. Everybody in both chats were clowning on him, but as usual, he ignored it, probably because he had spent that whole segment "kinda-sorta-you-don't-have-to" begging for $2K

Has Phil actively disabled VOD backup on Twitch? I wanted to use the exceptional boomer stream as background noise but no, I guess I have to wait for the Snort Burnell cut.

Didn't someone say (or was it a meme?) that DSP deleted VODs because then "there's no evidence" of him committing Twitch TOS violations since Twitch support doesn't count Youtube videos as evidence?

I know someone said it, but I wasn't sure if they were serious or not.

It's not official that it's a thing, but deleting problematic VODs is something streamers do. Presumably so evidence isn't readily available for reporting. In theory, someone should be able to archive it to YouTube and still be able to report it to Twitch, but that's plainly not been the case with Phil. Even his "faggots and homos" line from Dec 2017 is still up on YouTube, which should clearly run afoul of community guidelines.
