Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

...what the actual fuck were they thinking in with the "Rey falls in love with Kylo Ren" horseshit?!
The funny thing is that as progressive as people claim TLJ was, it aggressively shot down the possibility of a Finn/Rey romance even though they had genuine chemistry in TFA. Like the one thing about episode 7 that shocked me was that there was a romance angle I found myself able to get invested in. But Disney was like “nope, we can’t go that progressive”.

Like...if she perhaps was not a stupidly overpowered mary sue then maybe an outmatched and inexperienced protagonist fighting a very definitively losing fight over the course of the movies could legit be tempted to just go full fucking Vader in order to defeat the nu empire but Rey easily fucking wins everything she fucking does so there is literally zero fucking reason why she would be tempted...hell she isnt even angry about how evil the first order and Kylo are because as specified above she doesnt give two shits about that...

That's a pattern you will see with Mary Sues.

They can't ever lose, but you need to fill a trilogy worth of movies. so what can you do? The only thing you can do is stall them. Think about it. Rey can't lose so Bad things can only happen because you distract her.

Remember how in The Last Jedi they were escaping from a huge fleet and Holdo died? That could only happen because Rey wasn't there.

Same when they were drilling that giant door and the resistance was losing, and Luke had to sacrifice himself. Rey was conveniently distracted by piloting the falcon.

The only reason she doesn't kill the emperor in the first 5 minutes of Rise of Skywalker is that they had to STALL her with a mcguffin so she could only kill Palpatine at the very end.

And this is part of the pattern of shit that bugs me. Even by dumb SJW logic and a corporate #woke mindset their decisions make no fucking sense.

Why throw the few meagre crumbs of potential away, along with a fucktunne of #woke points and the absolute perfect shield against criticism since they could use the "EVIL WHITE MANBABIES HAET A BLACK GUY DATING A WHITE WOMEN" line against any critique? China wont give a shit about a black guy porking a gwailo bitch so it would not have been to appease them, Ridley and Boyega seem not to utterly despise eachother so it probably wasnt issues on the set....so what the hell drove them to this sub twilight tier "bad boy romance" horseshit?

I mean...could it be that the mastermind behind the "Rey: super duperest jedi ever who is awsomest at everything and has no flaws and everybody loves her and shes super pretty and special and stuff" concept just didnt want to see her self-insert wind up with someone she saw as an ugly nigger and thus instructed Rian Johnson to bury that shit fast?

Im not just saying this idly, we know that the creators of mary sues tack on a vast amount of their own ego and self image and personal fantasies to their creations and will act extremely unhinged when somebody else writes their precious character doing things they "shouldnt" be doing...hell just look at fuckin chris chan...and after TFA clearly set up the romance between them there had to have been some exec making the decision to backtrack on this hard and fast, and at the notable expense of Finn given the bumbling idiot minstrel act he was reduced to.

I dunno, maybe I am blaming the wrong person and KK wasnt involved with the creation of Rey as we suspect, maybe it was some nameless lucasfilm story drone...but somebody with exec level power went out of their way to nip that relationship in the bud and there aint many with the power or motive to do that, especially without any noticable dissent from within

I mean setting aside the fact he is a mass murdering psychopath who gleefully participated in the biggest genocide in history, his only interactions with her were trying to murder her, torturing her, killing the guy she latched on to as a new daddy and....then they are fucking force flirting with eachother in the next movie?! and then after he AGAIN tries to fucking kill her and all her fri....acquaintances and spends a year going full Hitler on the galaxy she just straight up drops her proverbial panties for him the moment he apologises?!

That's one of the few things about this that make sense, women love murderous psychopaths.

Cool. The artist just ripped off the design for Chernobog from the Megaten games for Snoke.

Even the people on the periphery of this shit are hacks.

Oh god damnit that weird fucking worm thing from the end of Darkseed 2 is back. At least this time it's wearing a hat instead of a circular sawblade.

Also I know this has probably been done to fucking death already but seriously....

KK's entire purpose to Kylo Ren was to make him the Edward Cullen of Star Wars.

Sadly, in that vein, she succeeded if all these suicide baiting idiots are any indication.

It's surreal that these reviewers seem to actually buy into the marketing that the Disney Trilogy is the conclusion of the original saga. It defies all common sense and it wasn't true for 30 years. They act like the purchasing of the ip rewrote history and Disney's canon was always going to be canon.

This is actually a pretty good video on The Last Jedi. However, notice how he skates over half the movie, ie. casino planet and car chase, which are the two major issues people had with the movie. I do see some logic in Rian's directing after this video, but it's still a dogshit example of "You can pick and choose anything from Star Wars and make it canon", yet we got nothing for 90 minutes.

I'll say it again; I fucking hate how they made Palpatine visually powerful. His strength lied in what he was capable of through sheer influence and politics. He turned a democracy into what, a dictatorship? Yet they felt the need to show him shooting down planes with lightning as if that proves fuck all when he already cheated death, of which they explain nothing.

I still can't believe what's happening.

They are paid to write these things. Nobody actually believes that.

Journalists are most of the time sociopaths, so it's easy for them to lie that much and so frequently.

It's not the creator who is that wrong here imho. I mean the concept of Rey isn't bad. In theory, she was supposed to be just a female Luke. IRCC, it was mentioned earlier, by generalfriendliness, I think, Rey was taken from a concept Lucas made.

It's the execution what made her a Mary Sue

I wouldn't be surprised if KK mandated her to be "strong", but KK's concept of "strong" is infalible aka "Mary sue" and J.J and Ryan just did what she asked for.

Here's Han-Ben convo:

It is a blatant retread of their last conversation in TFA, but most importantly, the "I know" is there, despite what previously claimed here:

Kylo on the death star alone hears his father's voice, then Han appears in flesh and Kylo says he is sorry, he tells him he loves him and Han says I know.
(To my memmory (...) this happens minus the last part.. (...), Han says some fatherly bullshit I can't remember. Anyhow, this ends with Kylo throwing his lightsaber to the ocean, turning back to Han to see he is gone)

So who knows, a bunch of other idiotic parts of the movie that seemed to be disproved may still be there after all...

Like the proto SJW hordes absolutely fucking evicerated twilight for centring round a romance thats not even slightly this fucking creepy and unnatural and abusive but they fucking fawn over this shit?

For that matter dafuq was the basis for the "oooh rey is being temped by the dark side oooooo" plotline!?

The actual fuck was she being tempted by other then "hey...wanna be evil and stuff?"

The reason I am sperging about this particular plot point is that this is what the critics and consoomers are declaring the "one redeeming feature" of TROS and im sitting here wondering what the fuck they are talking about....seriously am I missing something here?!
bruh chicks get obsessed with literal real life serial killers this is honestly one of the more realistic parts of the movie.

Incidentally, Eisner hated everything about lost and even went on record bashing it after it premiered to high ratings. It’s all documented in the Disney/Eisner authorized account of his tenure as president
Y'know, despite how much of a meme it became, I gained a newfound appreciation for Eisner after watching a lot of Defunctland, particularly the season 2 finale. Sure, we can poke fun at how he greenlit a bunch of questionable/edgy ideas to try and give Disney a more mature image, and the entire EuroDisney debacle is funny in hindsight, but I have to give the man some credit. He presided over the Disney Renaissance, releasing hit after hit that turned the company's fortunes around and helped to create the modern Disney empire (for better or worse). And at least when they released unnecessary sequels back then, they went straight-to-video where they belonged, unlike modern Disney that shoves that garbage into theaters for full price.

Hearing Eisner talk about how Hollywood is completely uncreative and risk-averse in the season 2 finale was kind of an eye-opener, and made me realize just how shit of a job Iger has been doing in his stead. I was also floored to find out that his company was behind BoJack Horseman, one of my favorite shows of the past few years.

The fact he hated Lost with a passion is just icing on the cake. Keep on truckin', Eisner.

Man, it's really hard to choose between Parasite and The Lighthouse for me as best movie of the year (that I've seen). Everyone in this thread: if you haven't seen them, you owe it to yourself to cleanse JJ's filth from your mind and watch some great movies. Both are excellent films in every aspect, and JJ wishes he had even a modicum of their directors' talent.

I am happy to concede that it was there then. I propably should have put it as a "I'm not sure if it was there"

Edit: Went back and corrected the mistake
